Great Job Officer

  • A Chicago police officer from the mounted unit and some passersby rescued a 70-year-old man from France who almost drowned in the lake, authorities said today.

On Friday about 2:15 p.m. Mounted Unit Officer Chris Andersen was riding along the lakefront bike path near Monroe Drive when a citizen said an older man had fallen into Monroe Harbor and was struggling in the water, according to Police News Affairs.

The man apparently had lost his balance and fell into the lake while trying to attach his boat to the harbor wall.

Andersen dismounted and handed his reins to the witness before rushing to the water's edge, police said. He laid down on the bank and reached into the water, where the struggling man had slipped beneath the surface.

A very good job by the officer and the citizens.

Oh, if only the king and his merry band of thieves could be ousted!!! It is time that some real reform take place, but I am not holding my breath. This is Shitcago and Crook County. Behind every crooked incumbent tossed out of office, two or three thieves lie in wait to grab for the cash.

We must reduce the size of the city council and cut city hall down to size, too. No need for those big politician assistants and aides.

And we need a new Inspector General with some teeth and a willingness to tear through 121 N. LaSalle.

My Grandfathers and Father saved a lot of French in the World Wars. God Rest their souls, I'm real proud of them for that.

Suggestion: duplicating the green Lifesaving ribbon and mounting on the horse's bridal.
