Dont talk shit about the guys or girls who work shitty districts. I get sick of coppers talking shit about other coppers. Its always guys from TRU or MSF that think their shit dont stink. Half of the clowns couldnt even fill out a case report with their 3 days on the job. If you are one of the lucky ones who has an even better gig then kiss your clout and shut your mouth. NEVER talk shit about the guys in patrol especially in shit districts

Ah, the good ol' days. When a district needed a little help from their friends, the task force was inserted. Saturation missions. By night 3 of the op, you could fire a cannon down the street, and not strike a malefactor. (They were either in jail, or hiding.)

Does MSF do this? Just askin'!

Months ago, ,,,

there were many postings about officer safety in 003 with the shortage of manpower, a leadership problem that extends beyond just the assigned Commander, who is obviously been in a retirement mode for a while now, and finally the lack of support that needs to be continuous to fill the major gaps present.

It seems from some of the postings that officers are starting to blaming each other for not doing enough in 003 and the frustration is growing to the point that "eyeballing" is talked about from time to time...

Let me tell you this:
Officers:
Do NOT and I MEAN do not start blaming each other. Your main goal is to go home safe at the end of the day.
Part of our responsibility is to patrol streets that many supervisors -Exempts- are even scared of driving through.

We are basically the lonely rangers out here. We Appreciate the help we've been getting from T.R.U, that is when they are deployed here... But every one needs to understand that we need help everyday on all three watches and 7 days a week.

The week structure that everyone is part of is creating a mold of CYA- especially for us people who've been here and did not leave...

The worst part is the news of who we might be getting as a replacement for the current Commander. Every copper with a good common sense realizes that a commander does not ASSIST you by going out there and backing you up on these senseless and dangerous jobs!!!
If a commander can SHOW you moral support and fight for you Administratively, then you know you are in a good place.

So, the question is for me personally is:

How long do I have to wait for descent commander?

I strongly hope it's NOT one of the Pre- Chosen ones as this will make me leave 003. I would like to think that the few of the willed and the strong ones left in 003 want to stay if HQ does the right move here.

It is also obvious the we are beginning to lose trust in the immediate managers and supervisors as well as Area 2 since no one seems to display any affection towards us.

By the way,
Affection = manpower

come on down exempts, show us your support, address roll calls, explain to us were we stand on officer safety, etc, etc, etc...

I hop you do that sooner than later and BEFORE you show your faces with the NEW king or Queen SELECTED to reign the 003rd district ruins.

I still have faith but " Can't Hold On Much Longer"!!!

The SunTimes reported that incident inaccurately. The offender did not shoot at the officers. The officers responded to the scene and saw the offender shooting at a group of males. They announced their office, and ordered offender to drop his weapon. Offender did not comply and turned towards the officers with gun still in hand. The officers again ordered offender to drop his weapon. He didn't, they fired striking offender in the leg. Offender tried to flee still with gun in hand and fell several feet away. Superintendent,

I am not sure if you have been made aware of a recent altercation in the audi home, where three sworn members from the 010 district were unwillfully detained, one of which being a supervisor. What is going to be the departments response? What are you going to do to protect us? My understanding is a GOCR has been generated but this needs to be addressed to the masses? We are often mistreated and abused at work by offenders but when it is done by officials abusing there power and playing games my question is What will you do to reclaim the respect that has been taken away by these officers doing the right thing??

To any who have commented here...

Quit dogging the officers in 003.

What the F would you do? Sure, you can slap your keyboard and flippantly give the business commenting on the officers, but please check yourself.

Address the problem in its entirety, BUT DO NOT think that your scorn should be put at the officers.

Complacency?

I bet your ass that if you were in 003 and had at least 30 openings, you would be doing things a bit differently as well.
So riddle me this...
You know that backup is gonna take a little longer to get there...etc.

Blame the brass gentleman.

If people want to play cowboy and save 003, then your mistaken.

You mean to tell me, you're not gonna think twice about how you respond to the situation when your down men on your shift?
Get the F out of here.

Hypocrites if you say otherwise.

Suppport your guys, and walk a mile in their shoes.

Hate the problem but think twice about blaming everything.

The daily activity and goings on in 003 are a 'result' of the larger problem....NOT the problem itself.
The band aid approach to problem solving is always temporary...if it continues for too long it becomes permanent in terms of creating a culture on the streets. The culture is just as identifiable to the bad guys. The streets feel it and know it often before we even talk about it.

Random ramblings from a high school educator...
Much respect to all.
