Happy Thanksgiving

Sure, we complain on this site a little bit. And our readers complain a bit.

But we have some semblance of health, the checks are still clearing the bank, Daley is on the ropes. There's plenty to be thankful for.

Don't let your guard down as shorthanded as we are. Have a safe holiday.

and lets not forget... obamas approval rating just was reported to the public... it is now down to 39%.. yes, its no typo... the golden child chosen one has an approval rating of 39%.. when bush left office, he was down to 34%...uummmmmmmm, so how come no media coverage on this at all... let me guess. if they picked on him or reported on the rating it would be the bad white media being racist and picking on the poor black man in the WHITE house.. goobble goobble, happy thanksgiving to all.. be sure to appreciate any loved ones you have no matter who they are.

Happy Thanksgiving fellow gang and tactical warriors!

I'm thankful for many things. Here they are listed in no particular order: Deputy Dugan, meritorious promotions, C.S.I: Miami, war paint, honorable mentions, gang and tac teams, Alderman, Jell-o pudding pops, M. Seiser, and foot chases for dope.

In the spirit of the holiday, I'll be working my four hour tactical tour today dressed up as a pilgrim. I'll even be carrying a blunderbuss instead of my trusty modified glock.

Since my family has deemed my tales of anal-cavity searches as "inappropriate," at the dinner table, I've been banned from all holiday functions. That's okay though. Tonight, after my glorious tour of locking up drinkers, I'll go to my favorite place in the whole wide world. Teasers! There, hopefully I will feast on a juicy, plump, butterball.

Until next time, take care fellow Delta Force Warriors.

OFF TOPIC:

Well it appears that State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias has released his tax returns for the last 4 years, in regards to his Senate campaign.

How come these Democrats are always generous with throwing around and spending OUR money, but are cheapskates where their own money is concerned?

Looks like we have another Joe Biden on our hands.

Remember when it was reported that he (Biden) gave $3,000 to charity one year, even though he made millions. The Obama's weren't far behind!

In 2005, Giannoulias earned about $1.34 million dollars and gave$9,000 to charity.WOW..a whopping 3/4%.

I give more than that to charity a year..on a patrolman's salary!

I'm going to vote for this goof..NOT!

Also, there is a news story about a Wilmette businessman J.C. Nolan who operated a hedge fund trading company. He was doing the "Madoff" with clients $$ even sending out fake monthly income statments.

He was arrested for embezzeling millions of dollars in investors money and his bond was $100,000.

Why was Sgt. Pollohusky's bond double that of the futures trader?

Can you say "anti-police" bias? Why the double standard?

We are hated!

One of the funniest Thanksgiving TV shows I can recall, has to be an episode called "Turkey's Away" on a new hit comedy called "WKRP in Cincinnati" (Original Air Date: 30 October 1978; Season 1, Episode 7).

When the bored radio station owner decides to get involved in a big Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, he hires a helicopter to drop live turkeys down on a mall parking lot on unsuspecting holiday shoppers.

I wish the whole episode was on youtube.

A warm, fuzzy holiday tale: 'The Cop and the Circus'

John Kass

November 26, 2009

Over this Thanksgiving holiday, as your extended family gathers in a turkeyfied stupor, somebody will ask for a story of holiday cheer.

And you can tell them about Danny the Cop and the Circus.

"You want me to tell that story again?" Danny asked recently. "I'll tell it, if you don't make me look like some psycho."

Yes, I want to hear it again, especially with the circus in town.

Stories of holiday cheer get richer with meaning at each telling. And 10 years have passed since I first wrote about it, so I guess it's time to warm the hearts of another generation with Danny's epic heroism.

Thanksgiving Zinger: "But Daley on Tuesday challenged aldermen to come up with a better plan and said homeowners should hold aldermen accountable if the council rejects his proposal. He noted that a married police officer and nurse could have incomes approaching $200,000 but still struggle to support their families."

___________

Cheap shot, totally! And thin, really thin. Taking a demographically typical scenario, then posturing to advocate for the police when actually implying that the majority of cops are doing A-Ok financially and can't manage to live on 200K. Let's see---cop probably working side jobs, "nurse" wife working doubles at the hospital, maybe 3-4 kids at 8-10K per year, per child for Catholic schools, higher insurance rates because you live in the city, then paying the highest taxes in the country because of the residency rule and still making nowhere near 200K, unless of course you are a brass exempt who's collecting a pension then gets a nice cushy City job (like Byrne on Streets & San) or you start some sort of Memorial organization or somehow find a way to keep your snout firmly up the ass of the taxpayers via the Mayor's good graces...

All the while he is repeatedly raping the City and making his friends rich.

He's an evil, evil man and my Thanksgiving prayer today is that all police have an easy day, stay safe and that Daley gets a turkey bone wedged in his fucking throat that the jaws of life couldn't remove.

---not a cop
