Parkland, Washington Ambush

Four cops killed in a coffee shop before their shift started. One report says all of the officers were Pierce County Sheriffs. This would probably be a sizable percentage of their watch if true.
Prayers only in this thread. We will update if and when possible.

They had some weird stuff going on in Tacoma at the end of last month, beginning of this one. Offenders, pretending to be the police, pulling people over, abducting them, robbing their businesses, raping women. wtf?

RIP officers.

i raelly hope there is no connection, but that whole area of the pacific northwest has become the "entry point" of mexican drug-lords. it has become easier to enter drugs through canada, than the mexican border. drug-lords see the police in small towns as a threat to their business operations. the pacific northwest has always had many deranged people.

god be with their families and co-workers. hopefully, the criminals will be cought soon!!

As my FTO said, over a quarter century ago, "Seven hours of same ol', same ol', half an hour of lunch and five minutes of sheer terror. Problem is, you never know when those five minutes will come."

This is what we do. Every day. And by virtue of wearing the uniform, we become targets of madmen and vicious criminals.

May God help the officers and their families and friends. What a tragedy.

A horrible morning in Pierce County, Wa. I drank many a years in DC with the Pierce County guys. We always had a good time while honoring our nations fallen law enforcement officers. A good source of info I’m getting is from northwest cable news.com. It has up to date info and videos. It appears to be similar to a CLTV format. The 4 Lakewood Police Officers that were targeted were 3 officers and 1 sergeant. They were having a briefing before their shift. The coffee shop is a police landmark in that area and is owned by a retired police officer. SCC maybe you can put up the emotional statement the Pierce County Sheriff, Paul Pastor, put out on camera. A very crazy sad day in the northwest. God bless those families.

Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the officers - four male and one female - were in full uniform and wearing bulletproof vests, sitting in Forza coffee shop near 116th Street and Steele Street on the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m.

Troyer says the officers were preparing for their shift when a suspect or suspects "walked in with a handgun, opened fire multiple times and then fled the scene," said Troyer.

Troyer called it an "ambush."

Troyer said the suspect is a black male, 5-foot-7 to 6 feet tall, 20s to 30s, scruffy appearance, wearing a black coat with a gray sweatshirt underneath, and blue jeans.

With the exception of 9/11 at the WTC in Lower Manhattan, this is the worst single multiple homicides of police officers in modern U.S. history.

The homicides of the four Oakland P.D. officers took place in two separate acts by the same cop killer.

God bless the Lakewood P.D.

Editor's note: During the coverage of this developing story, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department has alleged that its investigation into the shootings was hampered by KING TV's news helicopter, which was flying over the area. KING TV maintains that its aircraft was operating in compliance with FAA flight rules at the time and that the aircraft was moved from the area.

After giving them props for the coverage in an earlier post I discovered this editor's note that was posted to an update later in the day.

I think it is very important for CPD officers to read the comments posted on the Tribune website in response to this story.

I don't think the scumtimes has even posted this story.

The comments give you a true insight into what people think of police officer. Its very disheartening, but should be read.

To the unpublished blind dumbfuck -
Nice reading comprehension job there short-bus.

First up, it says "Prayers only in this thread." We've let that be prayers, well wishes, condolences, etc. We've put up this type of post far too often to allow dumb shit like you want in it, but if you look carefully, there are at least two news reports lifted from the media describing exactly what you claim isn't there. We just don't feel it appropriate for your Monday morning BS to be posted on a memorial thread.

We also attempt to disallow the casual slurs you're throwing around to not appear in most cases. Go play in traffic.

First, my condolences to the family and friends of these officers.

Second, out of 23 comments on the Tribune website so far only one could be construed as "anti-police".

Third, the Washington Police have a suspect in custody with a long felony record and mental health issues. If he turns out to be the shooter a long look needs to be taken at the criminal and mental health systems. Some people need to be confined for their own safety and the safety of others.

A Man of huge stature for one to behold
But inside this body, was a heart made of gold.

For old friends and children, teenagers too
He was especially kind... this portrait in blue.

For once they had met him, they'd call him their friend.
In danger and trouble, on him they'd defend.

To protect and to serve, to this duty he was tru,
The foe met their match... in this man dressed in blue.

He met with much danger, sorrow and pain,
And many a night would relive it again.

He faced all with courage, but compassion he knew...
Must be a part of a man dressed in blue.

For tho evil as man's deeds may continue to be, with courage and honor he'll fight valiantly.

Ith Justice for all , he'll strive to the end...
For an oath with his life he' sworn to defend.

His years full of service have taken their toll,
His feet are now weary, his body grows old.

But when Roll Call in Heaven he's called to attend,
Those Legions of Angels, those Guardians of Men...
Will sound the high trumpet and round him descend,
To Honor this man who lived to defend.

The Commander on High will of course be there too
To weclome the soul of this man dressed in Blue.

My Prayers and Condolences to the Parkland PD and the Family of Our Fallen.

God Bless the officers and their families! Let this also be a lesson to all police officers. The criminals hate us and they are not afraid to shoot and kill, regardless of the location. You can't sit in a restaurant or any other place and feel safe just because you have a uniform and a gun. Off duty you sit against a wall with the front door in front of you. It will all just get worse. Prepare for it!
