$500,000 Bail

Almost 100 arrests, violent anti-social tendencies, but still roaming the streets:
  • A Hazel Crest man accused of biting off the right nipple of an off-duty Chicago Police officer outside a Gold Coast steakhouse was ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail today.

Fernando Cooper, 31, of the 18100 block of South Kedzie Avenue, was charged with aggravated battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and attempted disarming of a police officer for the Sunday night incident outside Gibson's Bar & Steakhouse.

Authorities said that about 9:30 p.m., the officer was working security for the restaurant when he was told that Cooper was outside grabbing at the feet of passersby in an attempt to shine their shoes.

What does it take to keep these jagoffs behind bars? We've got murderers, rapists, gun-wielding felons being released right and left by the powers that be, and no voter outcry. Sheep indeed.

Upon conviction, this particular asshole ought to have each and every one of his teeth removed with rusty pliers.

The sad thing is, with that background, and I am sure some warrants issued, he was offered any bond whatsoever. Messages can be sent with bonds, just like convictions and sentences.

This offender has just about 100 arrests. What is left to do with these worthless people like him. Justice system won't keep him, and I'm sure his family doesn't want him around. Execute him and use his body parts for people that need them. Otherwise he'll continue to roam the streets and hurt someone else. Maybe we should allow him to roam around, and maybe he'll attack one of those liberal dummies that say "oh save him, a felony conviction will ruin his life, oh spare his freedom."

Since it's kinda too late to have this savage bleeding-out on Rush Street compliments of a few .45's, I'll go with your toofus removal as a 2nd option. But here's the problem with that...

Under Governor Quinn, dude will report to his respective State penitentiary to serve roughly 1/4 of his sentence.

While there, he will be fitted with "one-size-fits-all" dentures so he can adequately chew his 3 meals a day. When he complains that these "bogus-ass teef don't fits my mouff", he'll be provided with custom-fitted implants by a top-notch oral surgeon.

Upon his early release from the joint (don't forget he was given credit for "good time" immediately upon entering prison, too) he will hop a bus right back to Chicago where...

He will promptly head to Gibson's Bar & Steakhouse where he will order a killer Porterhouse, effortlessly chewing through same with his new, taxpayer-provided chompers.

And the cycle begins AGAIN...

Crook County...a criminal's utopia.

Our prayers go out to the injured police officer. But after arresting offenders when you actually get to see these rap sheets of some of these guys you wonder how they are still on the street. And did you hear the latest game in town? It's called rollback. Rollback is when all the citizens and police officers come to court, have the trial, and the bench judge finds the defendent guilty after all testimony is heard. Days later when the defendents sentencing hearing comes up and none of the police officers are there or the citizens groups are present, the judge then states there will be a "rollback" of the finding of guilty because after a further review of the evidence the judge finds the defendent NOT guilty. Why? Exactly. Why? We can think of all sorts of goodies here, and none of them pretty. Officers, start checking your dispositions. Citizen groups should follow through all the way to the sentencing hearings. And now with the current economic crisis, offenders are " let out " early. Way early. The fall of the Chicago Empire.

This type of vermin is why we don't go downtown for dinner anymore. It's safer, and easier to park in the burbs and there are a ton of good places to go.

By the way, I thought we were all on board with voting against every sitting judge. Send the message. If there are good ones, they can come back, but I don't hear any of them speaking out.

Vote out all incumbents and judges.

The question here is, How will the police department treat this injured officer? In many cases in the past, the department looked at officers injured while working security as "agents" of the person or company who hired them as security guards. The city did refuse to pay medical and refused to carry the officer as IOD. Some cases were resolved with law suits. The fact that you are underpaid and have to work outside jobs to put your kids through school does not faze Ed Burke and the Finance comm one bit!! And, then, what the pension board does and what the city does are two different things.

Almost comical. Almost.

it's called "hitting his off switch."

these mutts have God knows what cocktail of diseases and ailments...

dirty secrets of cpd... wonder how many coppers have been infected by these mutts?

how many coppers have gotten ill and died from being bitten by a two legged dog?

if such is so, were/are murder charges ever pursued?

in all likelihood and considering this is CPD and under jurisdiction of the cook county court system in all it's splendor(funny)... absolutely not.

all things being equal?

Notification to the Zone for shots fired by the Police to destroy a mad, vicious two legged animal and completion of a missile-x card. Period. Full Stop. Call Animal Control to drag the diseased carcass away.

Ideally, any and all biters SHOULD be shot. Or at a minimum skulled into eternity with a baton or asp.

Busting knuckles and trying to play by the rules because of j-fart and dugan is a waste of time. Going home in one piece without worrying about "bringing something" home with you is essential.

It's your hide officers... No doubt you and your families value it highly. The current crop of "Police Executives" couldn't care less. They never had to deal with street foolishness so they don't relate to "doin' what you gotta do" to survive.

Well... outside of back-stabbing and short sheeting each other to climb the exempt ladder.

Stay safe and remember, the current slate of "Police Executives" are fucking everything up because they JUST DON'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS TO FIX THIS SORRY SHIT! Other than to keep fucking with Patrol. that's their best answer and damn-it they're going to make it work! They have to! They're the smartest and most educated upper echelon in the history of CPD!

It's all the blue-shirts fault and they will be punished into submission for daring practice self preservation! It's the only way! shortshanks, j-fart, masters & duggie said so!

They need sacrifices to justify themselves and you officers refusing to do anything to jeopardize your freedom, careers and finances ARE BEING SELFISH IN REFUSING TO HELP THEM!

Sarcasm: on/(off)

Assholes like this guy on the street with almost a hundred arrests and the public blames the police for not doing the job. Well, John Q. Public how would you feel if you keep locking idiots up and the state's attorney's office cuts a deal for only a fraction of the time the idiot should be serving and the judges who let them free and the politicians who release them early. They say the prisons are full. Who do you think locks them up. They don't turn themselves in and suddenly appear in prison. However, be aware that the hands of the police are being tied. More of these criminals will be walking the streets thanks to what some of the vocal minority really want.

The answer is to de-criminalize simple possession of narcotics. This will free up prison space for the violent offenders. You then sentence offenders, convicted of violent crimes, to stiff sentences requiring them to serve at least 85% of the term.

The drug war is a waste of time and man power. If people want to get high, let them. The answer to the drug problem is not in incarcerating a drug users, but to educate and treat them. When you add a felony arrest record to a drug addict's resume, you have just created another unemployable predator like this savage.

#
THE NATIONAL BLACK FOOT SOLDIER NET-WORK DOES not ADVOCATE BLACK ON WHITE (BOW) CRIME OR BOW VIOLENCE OR VIOLENCE AGAINST WHITE POLICE

However as we all know, This is the site that championed the killing of 4 Police Officers in Washington and the senseless slaughter of 2 people in a Rite-Way store as a "Black on White protest"crime. To me oh I dont know.....kinda sounds like CAPITAL MURDER times 6. Douglas has a definite radical twist on things and purports himself to be an Award Winning Journalist.(and we all know how much we love the pond scum press right?) In Illinois, that's $50K under the 10% rule. $500K is misleading.

A couple of years ago a woman was arrested on a Friday on a Wisconsin warrant for drunk driving hot and run homicide. The Wis. judge set $100K bail (no 10% in cheeseland) and a holiday court ASA and judge agreed to let her go on $50K 10%...so she got out after posting $5K.

The Wis. DA found out about it and went through the roof...made his feelings known to THE state's attorney and all of the sudden the chief judge orders the fugitive in and jacks the bond back up.

I was in the courtroom and it was a thing of beauty to see a deputy standing behind the defendant with her handcuffs out and already open before the judge announced his decision!

Obviously I don't know the facts of this, but just for starters, I don't believe that the 50% rule applies to warrants. The bond on a warran is what it is. This sounds much more like a misunderstanding than anything else.

To the citizen that posted at 7:47 on 20Jan10-

Why would you think anything else is going on? We have 13,500 Officers (give or take a few thousand) and because one copper does something wrong, you are going to second guess yourself? I,know, I know, but what about all the other things going on you ask. The SOS scandal, the Jefferson Park Tap incident, Abatte, Callahagan. What about those things you ask. I say this to you. If you combine all those incidents, those scandals, the number of Officers involved is about 40 or 50. Now, for the sake of your police hating friends you debate this with (and which you may also be) Let's take that 40 or 50 number and double it. What percentage of the Chicago Police Department does that number represent? YOU do the math. As you can see, that number is so small it's barely noticeable. So you're support and defense of the CPD is correct. The VAST majority of the CPD is honest, honorable, wants to and does do the right thing and deserves your support. They go out every single day and do an outstanding job putting it all on the line day in and day out. They do this despite being underarmed, undertrained and understaffed. They do it in a Department where nepotisim, political favoritism is the norm. In a Department where a veteran Command Staff is being shunted aside and replaced by those with connections, civilians or people that have not worked the street since Moses parted the sea. A Department commanded by a former FBI agent who wouldn't know a bad guy if he saw one walking down an alley in a striped one piece pajama suit,a pillow case stuffed with jewelry slung over his shoulder while wearing a mask.
So I suggest you continue to support the CPD They deserve it.

A prosecutor's comment here.

Had a really shitty day today but tonight I ran into a woman who was the originally recanting victim of a wealthy wife beater. He spent four years harassing her, the cops, the prosecutors, the judge, her employer, you name it. She said she remembered me because I was in court the first time her ex-was there and she probably wouldn't be alive now if I hadn't insisted (against her wishes) on a no-contact order.

Funny how rarely we get compliments and they almost always come from the most unlikely sources. Not such a shitty day afterall.
