Ridiculous

Someone has a bunch of money burning a hole in their pocket evidently:
  • The Cook County Forest Preserve Board voted Wednesday to buy an Elgin golf course owned by the family of Commissioner Timothy Schneider.

The board voted to pay $5.745 million for Rolling Knolls Country Club.

Five commissioners voted against the measure and one present, not counting the Bartlett Republican, who recused himself from the debate and the vote. Schneider did own a piece of the course, but said his brother Tom spearheaded the deal.

It may be about time to trim the Forest Preserve Board along with all the other proposed cuts in government, wouldn't you think?

*Keep this date open, 15JAN10.*

At 1130hrs Inspector Terrance "Big Bird" McMahon is having cake and coffee at HQ. See AMFN #100079. It is being held in the closet on the 5th floor. All are invited to attend. It will be the last time the jagoff will be able to write you up. Enjoy your gold star and say goodbye to your soul, you heartless fuck.

The sad part is there will still be some blue shirts that show up.

The little weasel always refer to the poor people being denied medical treatment to justify high taxes. Now he purchases a golf course? How will that benefit the poor? Storger is an actual human puppet.

If they charge a million dollars a round it'll pay for itself in no time and maybe even turn a profit. Now that's good business sense/saavy. I wish I could make such sound investment decisions. Oh well, I guess I'll just go back to work for the man!

it's unincorporated, i heard that the Cook County Sheriff's Police narcotics unit executed a search warrant at that golf course. I heard that groundskeepers live on the premises and pay rent to the management (county commissioner). One of groundskeepers was slinging from an aprtment above the clubhouse. County narcotics officers hit the apartment and recovered an indoor grow, coke and ecstasy. The management (county commissioner) beefed the cops for not telling them about the investigation first. cops interrupted their lucrative cash flow.

Yeah, the Forest Preserves. They close down about 90% of their facilities over the winter. Fine, saves the cost of plowing at a time when they've got fewer users anyway.

But do they trim back their staff during the winter? No. . . . .

Why the hell don't they use local police departments to monitor the preserves? They're way better tapped into what's going on in their communities. Instead, they insist on having their own money wasting little empire of their own.

The Forest Preserves need a staff blood bath.

With some of the forest preserves a total mess with dead trees everywhere and litter, I'm glad they are spending money on yet another un-used golf course with the cook county taxes that are already sky-high.

I live around Devon/Milwaukee on the northwest side. A few weeks back i saw a comcast cable truck installing cable at a building by the old slides and Whelan pool. It looks like someone is living in the building which faces Devon. If someone is living there, who is it and who is paying for that cable?

Somewhat off topic, but regarding the coming elections, I was hoping to search the blog for names related to the judicial ballot opening. I know there have been some pretty vile examples of 'WTF' rulings that have been mentioned over time. I'm not looking for endorsements, just a historical record so I can research my ballot selections before I go vote. But the Blogger search doesn't search your archives.

Thanks!
