Densey Cole Honeymoon

How about it readers? We're sure we can get Densey and Mary a few hundred votes:
  • scc, Im sure your familiar with officer densey coles story. when he woke up from his coma he and his fiance were married in the hospital. They have been going through some tough times since then with mounting medical bills. They once dreamed of a proper wedding and a dream honeymoon. Due to the bills they cant afford it. They have registered at crate and barrel in the "ultimate wedding contest." If they get the most amount of votes, they will get the dream honeymoon that they had been planning for. If possible, can you post a thread supporting densey and his new wife. I really think that If he and his wife can win this it would really lift his spirits. After all he has been through I really think this would be an awesome thing to help him out with. Hopefully you can be a big part of this contest in getting them to the finish line.

90 seconds. Even including the 'verification' email you need to click on (so they register your vote), it only took 90 seconds.

I'm on a couple of other sites and I'll ask everybody there to vote, too.

On a side note, why are there pending/mounting medical bills!
This is an IOD and every bill should be paid by the city immediately. However, we know how the city works and they would rather you ruin your credit before THEY pay your bill!

I hope they win.

The real question is: If Densey was on duty driving a department vehicle, why does he have any bills to pay? Shouldn't that be considered I.O.D.? If his doctor thinks sending him to Colorado for treatment is the best option, the city should pay for it.

The city should also sue the shitheads who stole his gun and didn't give medical treatment. If they have no money, fine. Review their tax records and sue them federally for tax evasion like Al Capone. There has to be a message sent if you mess with the police you will be dealt with.

Good Luck and God Bless

A Speedy and Complete Recovery

I have Always Wondered...

The Denver Area Police made Densey one of their own while he wa out there in rehad from his injuries and thank-you for that...BUT

Why..Why...Why was he sent to Denver in the first place?

We have the finest rehab facilities right here.

Why was he sent to Denver? Did it have to do something with that new company that handles or IODs? Or does he have family there and it was his/their request?

It would be good that his story gets on TV again to remind the public what we face and the animals out there that they might feel some sympathy for when they come to court.

God Bless Densey, his Bride and the CPD.

If we can get other police blogs involved and those police officers pass the message on to their friends, then I am 100% sure Densey will win.

If Densey doesn't win, then we raise money for him and his wife so they can go on a great once in a lifetime honeymoon. Either way, Densey and his wife will have a great honeymoon.

As of now he has 1148 votes. Lets keep this going!!!

Here is another thought, on the same subject. Some of us have alot of frequent flyer miles. What about donating miles so they can get to and from the destination they want to go to. Mexico round trip depending on the airline like American Airlines is 30,000 miles. Delta Airlines is a bit more. I am looking into miles to donate now.

OT---

Update on the two Milwaukee officers shot on June 9, 2009. Thanks CPD guys/gals for your kind words and support...

The surveillance tape played at Julius Burton's sentencing Thursday is one minute and 14 seconds long.

It is June 9, 2009. A Milwaukee police van pulls up to a south side curb slashed by a deep afternoon shadow. Two uniformed officers get out. They are Graham Kunisch and Bryan Norberg. They approach a young man who has been riding his bicycle on the sidewalk. Their guns are holstered.

It is an everyday stop. A guy on a bike. It is no different from the hundreds of stops that Milwaukee police officers regularly make.

Then there is a blur of action, difficult to discern, as Burton pulls out a .40-caliber Taurus pistol and shoots both officers point-blank in the face.

"My life and my family's life were changed forever," Kunisch, whose face bears the scars of the encounter, told Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Patricia McMahon on Thursday. The gallery of the courtroom was literally packed, not only with family and friends, but with dozens of uniformed officers who had come to see what weight, measured in years, the attack on their two comrades carried.

Eighty years of prison - effectively, the rest of the 19-year-old defendant's life, McMahon decided.

That's 40 years of prison for each of the two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide while armed that Burton pleaded guilty to in January.

McMahon also ordered Burton to serve 20 years of extended supervision.

Burton shot Kunisch, 27, and Norberg, 22, in the 800 block of S. 2nd St.

One bullet ripped through the left side of Kunisch's face. He suffered a brain injury and had to have his left eye removed.

Another bullet tore through Norberg's jaw, shattering bone and teeth.

In sentencing Burton, McMahon noted that Burton had elected not to take the medication that would have controlled his emotional issues.

"You should not be in the community ever again," McMahon said.

As word of the sentence reached the courthouse hallway, a muffled cry of approval spread among the dozens of police officers who had been unable to find seats in McMahon's court.

Police Chief Edward Flynn was among the courtroom spectators. He called McMahon's decision "a just sentence."

Note: Under Wis. law at the time of the shooting, there is no time off for good behavior, etc., so 80 years = 80 years.

Allow me to add some thoughts to the OT...

1. When officers are shot or beaten, judges and prosecutors have to know THEY are being watched.

2. What a difference from Chief Flynn's politically correct predecessor who once demoted a captain who encouraged his troops to "turn up the heat on the thugs" in his district. She said the use of the word "thugs" was offensive. By contrast, Flynn told his troops that they are expected to turn up the heat on "thugs" and keep it up.

3. Chief's presence in the courtroom speaks for itself.

It's time to close the season on officers and make the thugs accountable.

I read the rules and it seems that the person with the most votes doesn't win outright but something like the top three move on to a panel of judges. They are by far the most deserving out of the top three though. Keep the votes coming! They're #1!!!

2/26/2010 11:07:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

In the rules it seems they get bonus points for having the most votes. Hopefully, if they have enough votes, the panel judges will see how many people want them to win. I think with everyone, they can eclipse the other contestants.

Also, in the rules, it states that they need to have a minimum of $2000 registered on the Crate & Barrel registry. As of right now, they do not have anything registered. Hopefully it is because they are planning to go to the store this weekend and register, and not an oversight. If anyone knows them, they should make sure they get their registering done soon!

To the homophobe:

First up, Densey and Mary aren't running "against" anybody. They are participants in an effort to get the most votes so they can have a nice vacation in the face of overwhelming odds.

Second, this is 2010, not the 1950's, 1930's or even the 1800's. What two consenting adults do behind closed doors doesn't really matter to anyone and doesn't really titillate the masses any more. Even the Supreme Court is staying out of the bedroom.

We decided long ago to not allow the casual gay-baiting that pops up all over the internet, just as we don't allow the use of the "See You Next..." slur, the nazi comparisons, and the assorted racial BS more common at "hate sites."

If you want to lash out at the "alternative lifestyle" communities because of your latent desire to experience man love, there are plenty of sites out there to vent your spleen. This isn't one of them. Enjoy your journey of self-discovery and we hope you're the number one vote-getting in next year's Crate & Barrel event.

SCC,

First thank you for posting this. You are right there is no room for the homophobic comments. It really degrades the "spirit" of this contest.

Secondly, The Anonymous Poster is right, Mary and Densey HAVE to have $2,000 worth of registry ITEMS up on their registry inorder to qualify for the Ultimate Wedding. The gift cards are not enough!! They can be disqualified for this. If anyone knows Densey and Mary or if you SCC or somehow could reach out to them to let her know to get online and put up some items so this little "addendum" in a very long list of legal-eze doesn't disqualify them.

Overnight they went up another 700 points and are steadily climbing again this morning. In Number ONE PLACE.....Networking is working......Please try and keep this up once a week so they may get a wonderful wedding and honeymoon. In our darkest hours The Thin Blue Line is always there.
