Densey & Mary Take the Lead

Don't celebrate yet, there's still a month to go, but as of tonight Densey and Mary had a 300 vote lead. Last night they were in 6th place and over 2,500 votes behind.

The efforts to get Densey's and Mary's story out there have been paying tremendous dividends as we've heard police blogs from Salt Lake, Atlanta, Dallas have taken up the cause along with the granddaddy of them all, THEE Rant (NYPD).

A lead is nice, but we would like to see a lead so insurmountable that other couples simply concede. The link is here - go vote if you haven't already. If you haven't, go tell your friends, families and social networking e-mail lists that Densey and Mary would appreciate your support.

I suggest quickly assembling an email with the facts about Densey and sending it to everyone in your address book.

I also suggest that we get the word out on the Rant, Peeved and every copper blog out there.

This is something we can do for this poor guy, it only takes a minute to vote and it will give Densey some happiness in a really horrible situation.

SCC how about a link on the side? That way people can find it later on when it would otherwise be burried.

This is posted on The Rant and the NYPD Rock. They are helping out bigtime.

On a copper humor note, two posting from the NYPD:

1. Vote early and often like your an ACORN worker in Chicago

2. Some one nominate another set of gays.

We need to split the vote!

Mary, I hope you get this. All my friends and family are voting for you and Densey to get your dream wedding. I wanted to let you know that the rules state the following:

To enter, you must (a) set up or have a Crate and Barrel Wedding and Gift Registry with at least 50 Line Items (“Line Items” is defined as each separate category of gifts. For example, twelve [12] wine goblets would represent one [1] Line Item. The total retail value of your registry must equal or exceed $2,000.00, based on the combined value of the items when they are added to the registry);

Please add the required amount to your registry so you don't get DQ'd. Who knows you might also get some gifts out of the deal, I know I'll be buying one. :)

It's not just the votes that will win it for them.

The 50 Entries with the highest number of votes as determined by Sponsor (“Finalists”) will advance to the Final Round for judging to determine prize winners. The Sponsor’s decisions as to numbers of votes for each Entry are final.

Representatives chosen by Sponsor (the “Judges”) will select all prize winners from the 50 Finalists. The decisions of the Judges are final and binding on all matters relating to the selection of winners. The final judging will take place in or about mid-April 2010. The Finalists will be judged on the following criteria in the Judges’ sole and unfettered discretion:

Originality and creativity of Entrant’s responses to the topics (50%);
How well Entry invokes and inspires Crate and Barrel’s lifestyle (30%);
Entry’s Ranking in public voting (20%) as follows: 1st–10th place in public voting will receive 10 points; 10th–20th place will receive 6 points; 20th–30th place will receive 4 points; and the remaining 20 Finalists will receive 0 points.
Each Entry will be given a score by the Judges based on the above. The Entry with the highest score will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner; the Entries with the next-highest scores (2nd–18th places) will be deemed the Second and Third Prize winners and the Honorable Mention Prize winners, in order of highest to lowest scores. The remaining 32 Finalists will be ranked in total score order, highest to lowest, but will not receive a prize unless a prize winner is ineligible or declines a prize, and such Finalist has the next highest score.

In the event of a tie, the Entry with the highest score in first bullet point above (originality and creativity) will be deemed the winner from among the tying Entries with the highest total score. If ties still remain, the Entry with the highest score in the second bullet point will be deemed the winner from among the tying Entries with the same score in the first bullet point above. If ties still remain, the tying Entries with the same total score and the same score in the first and second bullet points above will be rejudged using the same criteria. All Entries and scores will be retained until eligible winners are chosen for all prizes. Once an Entry or an Entrant is deemed ineligible, however, the Entry will be discarded and not further considered.

great job SCC. He has over a 1000 vote lead but we cant stop yet. Like you said there is a month left and coppers tend to forget fast. I would hate to see them lose their lead and then we have to make a last ditch effort to win it for them. Just keep having friends vote over the next few weeks and they should win easily. But its not over, they gay couple in 2nd place has also gained votes over last few days

There are so many outlets we can tap into if we put our hearts & minds into this. Lets make this our mission of kindness that will fill our hearts with joy for a lifetime!

Glad to see the thin blue line stretch so far and it will never break!! We are on board... Personally I've held back on a few of my email accounts in case they are needed in the end for an all out surge!!! Know we're doing everything we can... FACEBOOK, TWITTER, BLOGS, You name it, we're doing what we can for your/our brother!!!

Mary, honey, no Cuisinart? Kitchen Aid? Hand mixer? I know you're busy but let's get crackin' here. You can't run a respectable kitchen without appliances! My favorite is the boat motor blender. You can do some damage with that. But that little blow torch you picked out is great. You're going to love it. You'll be carmelizing everything. It's addictive.

-------------------

"I posted on my blog, posted about it on my forum, sent word to two well known bloggers that get a lot of traffic and asked for their help, and I posted it on Little Green Footballs."

"I was going to post on some police forums, but didn't know if I would be banned if I did so".

"Going to post it on my FaceBook and hopefully that will help, too. :) "

Up by almost 3500 at 15:18!!

Given that the public vote is not the only determing factor, perhaps we should think about putting together the wedding for them via donations. Someone already has a hotel lined up.

As of right now Mary and Densey are at 9000 votes and in a comfortable lead FOR THE MOMENT. Let's not slack on this........

SCC if you could post this every few days to keep this front and center with all the other great stuff you are putting up it would really help.

Mary also has her gift registry up on the site..... Dig into your pockets folks, and send them something. Even if it is one glass, goblet, fork. It is one more then what they had. The Police are the most generous people in the world. Show them even a little bit more love by equipping their kitchen for them.

Anonymous.......Great IDEA........ I actually had a second home on Playa del Carmen and have many contacts there too. That is great that there is a hotel offering them rooms....... I will offer up air mileage, my husband and I have over 800,000 air miles on Delta. I think we can spare some to get Densey and Mary up and back from Playa...anyone else have any ideas???
