US Media Embargo

  • The absolutely stunning global warming revelations this weekend by the man in the middle of the ClimateGate scandal have gone almost completely ignored by America's press.

As NewsBusters reported Saturday, Phil Jones, the head of the British Climatic Research Unit at the heart of ClimateGate, told the BBC: the recent warming trend that began in 1975 is not at all different than two other planetary warming phases since 1850; there has been no statistically significant warming since 1995, and; it is possible the Medieval Warm Period was indeed a global phenomenon thereby making the temperatures seen in the latter part of the 20th century by no means unprecedented.

Jones also admitted that he and his fellow scientists manipulated figures to hide a decline in crucial tree-ring data thereby questioning the validity of the entire global warming theory.

Paraphrasing Star Trek, "It's dead Jim." And the media isn't reporting it.

Its unfortunate that we doubt that global warming could occur. With California in snow in places it reminded me of the movie, "The Road." I hope our planet doesn't get to that stage. If it does and we are saying its not possible I wouldn't want to be one of the people opinionating to the masses that it couldn't happen. Its best to be aware of the possibility and to take steps to prevent it occurring. My opinion only.

Of course the media won't, they have an extreme leftist bias. And like all lefties, they also will never, ever, admit they were wrong.

Even moreso, they will never admit they were hoodwinked. The biggest hookwinker is Al Gore who has made and stands to make millions more promoting this charade.

As William F. Buckley said: "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views"

You're buying into the "peak oil" argument which has been proven false over and over again. The "viable energy replacement to oil" you speak of is here - nuclear energy.

We need to cut down the regulatory thicket that has stifled nuclear building in this country while Europe and Asia made generational leaps in reactor technology and cut their oil usage by magnitudes.

To "one man's opinion"

The glaciers aren't melting.

Some glaciers are retreating. Others are expanding at rates unseen since the Ice Ages.

THE MEDIA IS LYING TO YOU. Get it?

And the "one man's opinion" you claim doesn't matter? That "one man" is the FOUNDER of the global warming movement. It's like Bill Gates saying Microsoft doesn't work. Or George Washington saying his Adams and Jefferson were all washed up. It's a big deal.

I compare "global warning" to the asbestos abatement bullshit in the 1980's. A scam for those that are connected to start a company and make a quick buck and then declare bankruptcy. In this case, it's a way for Obama to reward his people, using our money, to bestow favors and win new friends.

To the Glacier National Park visitor:

Don't you think that is ultimate arrogance of man, to declare a national park of a natural phenomenon that may or may not exist in 100 years? No one knew what the range of glaciers was 100 years ago, let alone 1,000 years. But you, over the course of a mere 30 years, expect glaciers to confine themselves to an arbitrary boundary set up by man?

You comment is so shortsighted as to be unbelievable. A few thousand years ago, you could have answered your front door and found a glacier on your front porch. Did you know the "ridge" of Ridge Avenue is the remains of the leading edge of the last Ice Age? A glacier left it there. Why not declare Rogers Park, Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park the Original Glacier National Park and bitch about where the snow went?

And to the brainwashed softballs quoting the New York Times and the massively corrupted "real" website, you aren't going to find ground to spread your lies here.

Whoever is quoting the NYT, how's that Duranty Pulitzer prize working out for you? Pinch ought to fold that entire rag.

Earlier last year there was a town that emerged from a receding glacier in Norway. The town had been covered since at least 1700 which means that some time in the past it had receded at least this far. It was probably the fault of the Vikings and their desire for world conquest.

What can you expect? This is the same media that 'overlooked' the John Edwards story that was extensively covered in the Europe, Asia, and Australia for a year before the NATIONAL ENQUIRER 'broke' it. This is the same media that missed the Scott Lee Cohen story, reported in AUSTRALIAn papers by the way. Or the same media that couldnt find the Reverend Wright or Bill Ayres. The same media that thinks Bolingbrook is 'West Suburban' Sadly even the panel on Fox News Sunday all nodded in agreement that Global Warming was happening when the topic of Global Warming was mentioned LAST SUNDAY! And any one of us can go on and on... The reason they are dying is not the medium, its the message. And yes they are lying to us daily. Search out Australian or British news sites and you will be stunned by the difference. Of course their press and media aren't dying.

There is no Ridge Avenue in Chicago. Try to Geocode Ridge Avenue and see what you get. Your AIRA report will never get submitted.

Ridge Blvd. exists in Chicago.

Ridge Blvd. is the leading edge of the last Ice Age, yes, that is true. And that is also why it was selected to be the border between beats 2424 and 2412.

I think global warming can happen. I also think global cooling can happen. I don't think our puny efforts can cause either outside of a full-blown nuclear war (see also "nuclear winter"). The claims that "anthropogenic global warming" is real expose the arrogance of the "climate change" crowd. Just like they say weather changes, climate changes, too, and we don't have a thing to do with it.

It is all about the big banks and Goldman Sachs. Global warming implies the need for Cap and Trade which is a way to either buy or sell carbon credits. Who makes off of these financial instruments? The same people that made money off sub-prime , CDS, CMBS and the rest of that nonsense.

By the way-- how much did our pension lose on CDS investments? -- 50 million, 80 million , 100 million?

Global warming is caused by the farts of cows and also because I like sauerkraut and polish sausage and I fart up a storm too. Every time I cut one loose I say a prayer for a glacier and also hope I didn't leave a wet one in my pants.

It was the Vikings and their gas producing diet! They farted the glaciers into oblivion. They even wrote a book about it, "An Inconvenient Toot" all about Viking flatulence.

Did you know that the average human produces about a half liter of fart gas a day? The Vikings likely produced more, hence the disappearance of their glaciers.

Really, no shit.
