Area 4 Scandals?

This one is just dumb:
  • ...any one hear anything about The Weisel going off on Area 4 and their Overtime. Hear he wanted to indict everyone there.
Well, if you don't promote Detectives for over two-and-a-half years, someone has to pick up the slack. Otherwise, the "X" doesn't get moved, the case doesn't get suspended, the crime doesn't get solved. Why not just disband the D-Unit all together and just admit we don't solve crimes anymore - we just let the insurance companies pay out.

And this one is just really really dumb:
  • a little birdy friend in IAD retiring next month let me in on the next A4 embarrasment....seems IAD cameras were put in a certain district supplies room to catch pos stealing. the good news? no pos stealing. the bad news? 2 pos bumping uglys. investigation put on backburner cuz of pennys case, but hammers ready to drop on this now. pos looking at some hefty time off. maybe they can take the time off together and screw away from the job to. jealous soon to be ex spouse got wind of it and dropped da dime. OUCH.
Seriously? We have enough scandals with people allegedly taking money, recommending towing companies, beating bartenders, driving drunk. Now we're going to be treated to a sex scandal? Is there anything this department can't do?

At least they weren't stealing, god forbid that such a thing can happen on this job. They were just relieving some tension with this Penny thing going on and the streets going up for grabs. Let's just call it sex for mental health reasons. Help me out fellow officers with some mental health term for this. What was it? Three minutes of intercourse between consenting adults and everyone left smiling? Where do I sign up for this treatment?

An old Lieutenant of mine, while referencing married parties engaging in "extracurricular activities", always said: "The fucking you got ain't gonna be worth the fucking you're gonna get".

I don't know one way or the other that anyone involved in this latest rumor (and that's all it is at this point) is married, nor do I care. But what I DO know is that if true, those involved will certainly get fucked by the department.

And the only ones that'll experience the euphoric sensation of climax in this case will be the Weisel and the IAD rats handling the case.

At roll call last week, the Commander had a 3 inch stack of time due slips from guys who, "spun the clock." This was just over a 2 month period! Tell me how one can work 83 hours in a row and still be coherent? During this time, there were no police shootings or major homicides that justified this kind of OT.

Certain people got greedy (they know who they are & have no shame) and now we're all paying for it. We've been told that another audit is coming. The really sad thing is, when you listen to these same idiots bitching about the restrictions on OT, they're still trying to figure out ways to scam overtime. We are our own worst enemy!

As for the couple "bumping uglies" in the closet, that's just wrong! Have you seen that place? It's filthy!

Installing a camera to catch someone stealing supplies?

As dumb as the heads of CPD/IAD are I have a hard time believing they would spend thousands of dollars to set up and monitor a hidden camera for supplies.

Could you imagine the headline:

"CPD Internal Affairs Spends $10,000 to Catch an Officer Stealing $100.00 Worth of Office Supplies" The public would be outraged.

However, I could see someone calling in an anonymous tip to IAD about a couple of Officers using a closet for "a much needed personal" and them setting up a camera for that.

OOOOHHHHH So Sorry. . . . how about bringing our police numbers up to the amount in the city's budget? if we are supposed to have 13,500 then hire enough Qualified people so we have that amount then you may not have to worry about the overtime budget. also, we know the city has budgeted money for 13,500 officers but we don't have that amount of police. SO what are they doing with that money?

another example of them expecting us to do more with less while they the upper echelon do less with more.

To 2:10 am post:
The reason why 009 is constantly low or out of supplies is because of the P.O. who was given that job when the civilian was laid off. Kathleen the civilian was conscientous and did a decent job with the supplies. Her replacement Kathleen the P.O. not so much. I guess she deserves this spot after all she did spend about 12 weeks on the street in her very short career. The only time things were running smoothly with the supplies was recently when an officer was taken from 1 st watch to fill in for this useless officer while she was on furlo. The officer from the 1 st watch did a very nice job and cleaned up a lot of the mess that was left for him.

The detectives in Area 4 have gone beyond "stupidity". One detective, working days (THIS IS VERIFIED) made $174,000 last year. That's right $174,000, and the moron didn't solve a case. Heads are going to roll, people are going to be getting some serious time, if not fired. We have homicide detectives in Area 5 who were in court at 26th street over eighty times last year and worked a lot of extension of tours working fresh homicides, and NONE of these detectives even broke $130,000 for the year, so how can some goof in Area 4 working days make that kind of money. There is just no possible way. To make $174,000 a detective with 25 yrs on the job would have to work a MINIMUM of eight hours overtime EVERY SINGLE DAY HE WORKED. Someone has a lot of explaining to do! SCC, I am serious the $174,000 made by a detective in Area 4 has been VERIFIED.

Hanson cut a deal with the government. His full cooperation in exchange for a pension and benefits for his wife. They had not choice.

What document did you verify this income figure? Is it possible this is combined income from other sources other than his police job? Also, if this 174,000 figure was due to regular salary and overtime then I can confidently say that this detective is a meritorious dummy.

Meritorious "Politically Annointed" dummies have historically brought shame to this department.

That detective is not the highest. A Lt. who was at the park district regularly doubled his salary in overtime. Verified. Doubled. Almost got dumped after the July 3rd shooting clusterfuck but clout at highest level saved him. Salary doubled in OT.

Almost all of the sergeants and lieutenants assisgned to RBT and HGS never passed the sergeants, or lieutenants tests....
I thought this was A/5 as I was reading it. I see A/4 suffers as well.
This Department needs an enema!!!!!

Are you really listening Supt. Weiss?

Good, I'm glad the spotlight is on these nitwit supervisors. Nothing worse than meritorious clout hacks who think they earned and/or deserved the gift promotion.

Hey boss, we laugh at you and don't respect you.

area sgt is not biddable - it is a phone call

so they are heavy to begin with - does it not make sense they used the same chinaman for the promotion AND the assignment to the area?

also, being non-biddable tends to shrink the cojones of the supervisor in the areas to somewhere aorund hamster-size, because they are afraid of getting dumped -

Maybe the theft of supplies was just a cover story. The Puitanical/No One Has Any Fun real IAD/J-Fed reason was to catch a couple in a sex scandal.

Can anyone who really knows tell us exactly what the camera looked like and how it was placed.

i got the feelers out to a bud in a4 to see if a camera has been found yet and if so what it looks like, where it was found etc etc. will keep the the good readers of SCC informed as to the findings

I think the sex rumor is b.s. Oh and installing cameras to catch a thief? If the department spent money on that, they should be ashamed of themselves considering it takes 2 years to fix a urinal, the ceiling is caving in and up until recently you had to scrounge to find a chair that wouldn't cause injury.

I remember about 2 years ago, in 004 or 005 (I'm a Northsider so it's all the same sorry...)a REQSUP job came up. It was a citizen who observed a male and female PO engaged in sex, still going at the time of her call. She gave an exact description, beat number, car number, and plate number, as well as exact location and that she took cell pictures. Gotta be careful people!

Back in the day, we'd have 19P it and suggested they check in at the Embassy Suites on State. Great rates for police.

Keep going. One Sgt. is the son of the former State's Attorney.

One sergeant is the daughter of a former State Representative and niece of the owners of auto dealers.

One Lt is the brother of a former alderman

There is more than one other sergeant on the board of directors of the Sergeant's Union

Etc., Etc., Etc.

They aren't babysitters, so quit telling parents to show up in 2-3 hours. Make then sit and wait for their jagoff kids, not the other way around! Besides, if you stop locking up kids on the "knock, knock, Mrs. Smith, is your son home? He's got a warrant," crap and $10 weed bullshit you wouldn't have to wait.

These days, its's a rare night when they're running with more than 2 guys, so if they go out to grab a bit to eat after already processing 7-8 kids, too bad. Deal with it!
