Nice Ride Carrie

  • A Cadillac Escalade belonging to Ald. Carrie M. Austin (34th) was impounded after her grandson, who was driving it, was pulled over and cited for driving without a license early Monday in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood, according to police.

About 2 a.m. on Monday, Kenneth Austin, 21, was driving an Escalade belonging to the alderman when he was pulled over by Targeted Response Unit officers near 113th Street and Normal Avenue, according to police. The TRU officers were already in the area performing an investigation.

Officers found Kenneth Austin did not have a valid driver’s license and he was issued a citation, according to police, who said he is the alderman's grandson.

Nice to see the law applied properly.

Everyone might want to keep an eye on the officers stopping, issuing tickets and impounding the vehicle. We will gladly post any and all instances of the aldercreature attempting to mess with them or their assignments.

I would like to commend the Patrol Officers on their lawful stop and subsequent actions. They did a good job. Too bad the TRU Sgt. they were with is a clout merit Sgt. who was never the Police. He gave the Officers a direct order to write the offender and to tow the vehicle. Now this piece of shit Sgt. claims he never gave such an order and is ducking for cover. This stuttering prick Sgt. should have been nothing more than the dispatcher he was until he married clout. This Sgt. is the joke of the unit and is showing his true colors once again by not backing his men. Isn't that right Sgt. J.J. AKA Sgt. Barry Mannilow?

The only one who is messing with the officers as of now is the tru Sgt. who was with them at the time. Orders them to write the tickets and impound the vehicle and now says he never gave such an order. Telling the officers that they can go back to where they came from if they did not like it.

Story is, this is the second time that her vehicle was impounded after being driven by the same fool. The alderwoman then likes to call the 022nd dist commander and scream at him about his racist white p.o.'s stopping her grandson, along with calls to j-fed.

625 ILCS 5/6-304 cannot permit a unauthorized person to drive a vehicle under your control. You can cite the owner of the vehicle in addition to traffic charges of the driver. The officers pefformed their duty according to the IVC law. Unfortunately, we lack white shirts with backbone to support the officers. Sgt JJ, thank you. Weiss would be proud of your example. next time a sergeant oders you to write a citation, put their name on the citation.

I noticed Ald C is not one of your best friends and it reminds me of a time when she stuck her fanny into my fire inspections in a SE suburb.

Ms Carrie, may it cost you many dollars for what it cost me in time to get out of your racist, inappropriate, false, BS letter to my supervisor. You are a big fat Public Safety hating racist.

Austin, of 500 W. 111th St., has been without driving privileges since April 9, 2009 when he failed to appear in court for an unidentified reason, said Illinois Secretary of State's office spokeswoman Beth Kaufman.

Austin also had a “financial responsibility suspension,” which occurred six days ago on March 10, she said. “He needed to file high risk insurance with our office and either he didn't do it, or it lapsed,” Kaufman said.

So he was SUSPENDED!!!!
But the Sergeant is an A-hole???
They shouldn't need a direct order
HE WAS SUSPENDED!!!!!
Obviously you have a beef with Sgt. J - probably because he is out there making sure you do what you get paid to do. If you don't like it, go back to the district.

Not long ago a car was stopped that was plastered with fop and police stuff. A top staff member of ald. munoz or cardenas. Susp DL, no Insurance, plates expired for almost a year. Tow/impound case ended up in someone's mailbox and car was never hooked. Since he was susp and the officer did not have to go to court who knows if the tickets were "lost in the shuffle" My guess is Noone ever had to deal with them.

I know Sgt GJ and I know the officers involved. They have never been the type that need a direct order to write someone. They impound 2-3 cars a day! Sgt GJ is (was) clouted but never flaunts it. The only one that would write this is fat ass RR.

What is the problem here? The guy was driving around with a suspended license, and it looks like people are saying that the Sgt should not have ordered the officers to write the driver? Whether the officers did it on their own or a Sgt ordered them, writing him and impounding the car was the correct action.
The story does not stop there. Carrie raised hell with numerous high ranking exempts in the department, saying white officers were racists and all black officers were "Uncle Tom's." She also stated that she TOLD department exempts to leave her grandson alone. Who was the exempt sent to her house to apologize (my source didn't have it)? Was the car returned to her without towing, impound, or storage fees?
I understand he has had the car impounded previously for noise amplification. He is obviously out there acting stupid and drawing attention to himself. Well, it runs in the family. Anyone on south side remember when Carrie's son ran his car into a store at 111th and Bell a few years back and tried to flee on foot?

What the fuck is this shit? If I was driving without a valid license, I'd get hammered. What's so special about this little ghetto rat besides being someone's grandson. This is just wrong on so many levels. This is what is wrong with everything. How could that exempt even find his balls after groveling to that useless bitch? Talk about reverse racism.

50 incompetent souls who think that they are like princes and princesses. Well asswipes, this is not England and God willing- half of you should be relishing your final days as aldermen. The movement to have half of you removed is alive and well. With people like John Kass and a few others, we will see the day when this happens. Steal some more money while you still can.

The part nobody is repeating is that Austin told the bosses she cried to, they can't mess with my car, "I have diplomatic immunity"... I guess her Alderman plates means she can do whatever she wants, she must of not learned a lesson from her husband who also thought he was untouchable...

Police: Ald. Austin's SUV impounded
Comments
March 16, 2010
SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE
A Cadillac Escalade belonging to Ald. Carrie M. Austin (34th) was impounded after her grandson, who was driving it, was stopped and cited for driving without a license early Monday in Chicago's Roseland community, police said.
Kenneth Austin, 21, was driving an Escalade belonging to the alderman when he was pulled over about 2 a.m. near 113th Street and Normal Avenue, police said. The officers were already in the area performing an investigation.
Officers found Kenneth Austin did not have a valid driver's license and he was ticketed, according to police, who said he is the alderman's grandson.
The Escalade, which had tinted windows, was taken to the city auto pound at 103rd Street and Doty Avenue, police said.
Austin, of 500 W. 111th St., has been without driving privileges since April 9, 2009 when he failed to appear in court for an unidentified reason, said Illinois Secretary of State's office spokeswoman Beth Kaufman.
Austin also had a "financial responsibility suspension," which occurred six days ago on March 10, she said. "He needed to file high-risk insurance with our office and either he didn't do it, or it lapsed," Kaufman said.
A source said the Escalade is registered to the alderman's chief of staff.
