Five Years!
Yes, once again, it's that time of year - Our Birthday! Five years blogging, five years of sarcasm, silliness, commentary and insanity. And once again, it's time for us to thank everyone who makes it all possible - you, the readers. Without your visits (over 9.9 million!), without your page views (almost 19 million!!), none of this would exist.A special thanks to J-Fled and the policy group - your continued torturing of statistical data, insane management changes and slow organizational murder of the once proud Chicago Police Department provides us a constant source of amusement and material.
And a very special thanks to Mike Masters Masters Masters, who has spent thousands of visits and countless hours surfing our comment threads from home, work and Blackberry, looking for those elusive mentions that keep dozens of IAD investigators busy with pointless CR investigations.
And we finally get to wear one of these on our blog uniform:
A 5-year service bar, something we hope that certain superintendents and their hangers-on will never get an opportunity to wear. Again, we thank you all.

I noticed on the current FOP webpage, it no longer lists the current Bd. of Dirs. Why Markie? Markie are you afraid if the current Bd. of Dirs. is listed it may give members a reason to vote against them considering the contract? The 16.1 raise for the contract offer from the City was listed for over TWO Years on the FOP website. Markie please explain your reasoning!

does cpd need captains , many top bosses are civilian , most exempts are lts wake up jfled quit letting the 5th floor (da hall) pull your strings
oh i almost forgot all captains are merit and most were merit sergeant and lieutenants
jfled start picking some police officers and detectives for commanders , most of us are more qualified
many of us actually scored higher on sergeants exam but passed over by most of your command and captain staff

We would imagine that it is unequal parts love, ire and disgust that motivates you to not just be the ONLY source of information free of Daley Inc. influence, but also the voice of the Policeman that they wish so desperately to silence... Hence the "monitors" in D.C., Quantico, 3510 and 111.
Thankful for the rights of free speech and the right to have your own thoughts and a way to express them and make them known, seeing as how the Policeman in Chicago has no rights anyone in power is compelled to yield to or respect.
The first responder has become a second class citizen!
SCC IS the Policeman's voice and the jagged thumb-nail of truth in the lying, thieving asshole of Daley Inc. and all their knee-walking minions.

I for one would love to see in print either here or on J-Fled's apparently ghost-written "Blog 501" an answer to a nagging question throughout the Dept.: Is Masters Masters Masters a sworn officer now, or not?
Is he walking the streets of Chicago armed? When and where did he obtain his credentials, because they obviously weren't obtained at the Chicago Police Academy through normal channels (like sitting in a classroom with other rookies!).
Why is this information being treated like an item of National Security? J-Fled puts together Blog 501 to act as though he and his pitiful inner circle are completely transparent about issues, when it is clearly NOT THE CASE.

I've been reading this blog for almost a year now. It took me a long time to figure out some of the specialized lingo. I know it is for Chicago police, but a glossary would be nice.
I'm sure there is a humorous (or grotesque, or both) history behind calling him "Masters Masters Masters", and I would love to hear it.
Dear Scc: The last guy I'm sure is a nice guy but no glossaries for anyone please. Sorry nice guy, but it can't work like that around here. Nothing is given, it has to be earned.
