Two Charged

  • Two men have been charged in the shooting death of an off-duty Chicago police officer, gunned down during a robbery attempt outside his father's South Side home late Wednesday.

Paris McGee, 20, and Toyious Taylor, 29, were charged Friday with two counts each of first-degree murder and one count each of attempted armed robbery, according to Cook County State's Attorney's spokeswoman Sally Daly.

A third suspect who remained hospitalized Friday has not yet been charged in the death of Officer Thomas Wortham IV, Daly said.
The third is still hospitalized, so we can only imagine the ASA wants to hold off charging until they can interview him. Never mind the fact that he was shot by a retired sergeant in the act of murdering the sergeant's son and stealing a motorcycle.

God bless the family of officer Wortham. He was an outstanding police officer and a very nice young man. I only spoke with him a few times, but he left a lasting impression. Chicago really lost a magnificent person. He will never be forgotten. RIP brother.

Did anyone else see a news story where a female blond CH2 reporter stated that a relative of one of the offenders was claiming (not on camera) that the death of Officer Wortham was the result of some kind of 'I dare you' drinking game these stupid dogs were playing?

Un-fucking-believable!

What was that band of militants, that hunted down Pablo Escabar and his under bosses? Los Pepes, That is what this city needs, Good Guys that clean up the streets, and disappear like ghosts.
A little bit of fear commands respect, and the shithead does not fear the CPD, let alone respect them.
Concealed Carry wouldn't hurt either, just a civilians perspective.

It is the mother of the scumbag that was killed and the aunt of the scumbag in the hospital. She went on the record with the Tribune with that quote.

A drinking game. This segment of society seems to have lost any redeming qualities at all. Even the most bleeding of hearts should understand this.

It's been a few days now, and I still have no words for this horrible tragedy. I never got to meet the guy, but apparently we chewed some of the same dirt on the south side and in the Army. I hear from others what a class act he was, and by all rights to me at least a hero, the same kind that I proudly served with, and currently work with. Seemingly too far and few these days. I often marvel at where we manage to find such people, willing to give so much, and how quickly what they give is spent, too often frivolously by those who have never paid for anything themselves. I can't even begin to fathom the pain his parents, family, army buddies, and no less importantly fellow 007th guys must be enduring. Despite our anger and grief, we must remain focused, for the family, his friends, his watch guys and classmates. Know that you aren't alone, there is no shame in grief, and that NOBODY, rides the bus for free when it's over.

Okay. Well, these guys, Paris and Toyious (where, oh where do their mothers (or fathers) find these exotic names?) will soon be singin' that jailhouse tune (to the melody of "She thinks my tractor's sexy"):

My cell mate thinks I'm sexy.
He says I turn him on.

The supposed status of the shitbag in the hospital is he probably won't make it past next week. Awww.....what a shame.

As for the two that were actually charged, I see our soft ASA's maybe trying to get a $10,000 bond for each??? It's not like they are habitual criminals or anything.

SINCE THIS WILL COME OUT IN COURT

That is true.

That cam from the mama of the dead dude ("That's my baby!"), who came to the scene after getting a call that her honor student future Nobel Prize Winner (Hey if BHO can get it, why not), was dead on the street.

Who called you? She told them, and the rest is all GOOD DETECTIVE WORK and a Little Bit of Luck.

Now watch the slime of the legal "profession" try to pin it all on the dead dude.

The asa charged the pos because the police proved their case. With most thanks to retired sergeant Wortham.

Otherwise dont get me started on the asa office. Anita has destroyed the office just like Jodi destroyed the police department.

Nothing good will ever get done between the two.

Why did a W/C do the arrest report of the guy who turned himself in. Is he that ego driven? He should of have turn it over to an officer.

--------

dont even know what district he turned himself into but have no problem with that. its not like a officer picked him up on the street and the w/c took it. he walked into the station. if the boss wants to do it his way, fine by me.

Maybe that watch commander spent the better part of the day facilitating the surrender of McGee, by working with family members?

Maybe that watch commander built up a level of trust with the family that actually got McGee to to turn himself in?

Maybe when they walked into the station and approached the desk, they asked to see that watch commander?

While it may not have mattered who prepared the arrest report, the person that did was the person who did the leg work to make it happen.

The only thing that DOES matter is that the offender was removed from the streets and taken into custody without another police officer getting injured or killed.

Work safe!

They don't want to be able to defend themselves and they don't want you defending them either, if they did Ritchie Rich wouldn't be the mayor now would he. Jeeze, Ritchie is just giving his constituents what they want.
