How to Get Around Code 049
Remember a few weeks ago, the Department wouldn't carry anyone Code 049 anymore? Direct orders from J-Fled or Masters or somebody. We guess they meant "We'll just carry you as present for duty, even if you aren't here"
- The manpower numbers aren't bad, otherwise how could POs in the Sup's Policy Group go to Tactical training monday through friday last week just outside of Detroit MI, but guess what - she wasn't carried code 49 or used any personnal time to do the training, they were covered as present on the A&As.
Why do two POs in the policy group have to go to Tactical pistol instructor training on company time (armed and out of state)? Maybe cause they could use it, for a tactical association.
Go ahead and try and change the A&As now they've already been submitted and approved your PC #s will reflect the changes. Why doesn't IAD do anything?
"Present for Duty" even though they were no where near Chicago? Golly, how do we sign up for that gig? It almost seems criminal. Oh wait....

There is a huge problem in the making. Some smaller departments are thinking about getting rid of their police departments completely. Two I have heard of are Worth and Summit. Worth has already contacted CCSP and told them to be prepared to take over patrol duties. All this is because they can't afford to pay their pension contributions.
My take would be is they would fire everyone, and then offer to hire them back under a 501K system with none or limited contribution from the CIty.
Please don't anyone pretend to be surprised by this. Those two are about to be thrown under the bus. J-Inbred finally has someone to discipline. No juice from the reverends, no whack from the command staff, and not related to Tom Byrne. They Gone.

It sounds almost criminal? This is the problem with Chicago. The mindset starts in City Hall and it is a scary, freaking mind of a little stunted tyrant. It means lying, stealing and cheating is Ok. It doesn't matter if its running a scam to employ friends or relatives, raise someone's wages right before retirement so they get higher retirement benefits without earning them, ghost payrolling which this fake code business is similar to for a different benefit, contracts to clout heavy people with under the table kickbacks. And he has proudly proclaimed that when the gun ban is ruled essentially an illegal scam today by the Supremes, he is already looking for ways to skirt the spirit of the law and the rights of the people. Finally the little jag off wonders why we citizens are not obeying the law, gang banging, shooting, robbing, beating, selling drugs to each other? Anyway, even if they fire everyone, I don't think the city can just walk away. At minimum, I believe that they would have to pay back what the officers paid into the pension.
You can't say that you did not see this coming. When all this pension talk started several years ago, i.e: underfunding, I had my wife increase her contribution into her 401k and then opened a Roth IRA.
We can't rely solely on the city for a comfortable retirement. Make sure that you have money stashed away NOW by any of the multiple ways that are available out there.

Good story in the Sun Times today about Vanecko and some other insiders fighting in court about how they screwed up our pension fund investment and who should be paid. What's interesting is the judge is names Barb McDonald. I'm just wondering if that's former Deputy Superintendent Barb McDonald? Should she really be involved in this case? She's as much a Daley insider as Vanecko.
These are the same two that are receiving the Sup AWARD OF MERIT for organizing the Sup Speaker Series. Yes, that is their job and they now get one of the highest awards for working Monday through Friday doing office work. Look it up, What a joke.
Ask yourself what other self serving organization would be allowed to receive training out of state for a full week's pay that has NOTHING to do with your current job function. The only benefit will be to enchance their own personal agenda.
Next I suppose is the SWAT team will be traveling to Alabama to receive Powerpoint training.

What total BS!!! Once again different rules for different folks and especially folks that work for J-Fed. Anyone else would be burning time to do training that wasn't offered to every police officer. How much company time do J-feds girls use to work on a private and non-CPD organization? J-Fed's girls also get to drive around and take home a company car. Why is that necessary? It's obvious they feel empowered by being connected to J-Fed. Must be nice to have no time on the job and get private training that no one else gets while being maked as present all the way from Michigan.
Maybe the 5 year wonder "policy group" made a new policy for themselves. They can travel to Michigan on company time for a private organization, but no one else can. Someone should ask if they drove their take home company vehicles there too. Amazing how this policy group can make rules for us nobodys, but they can do whatever they want. The training should be offered to all CPD on company time.
Daley has sucessfully destroyed the CPD, just like he's ruined everything else he lays his hands on.

Training is important period. At the academy they send us out of state several times a month so we can train both the rank and file and supervisors.
These people you "complain about" also use that training to advance not just themselves but all personnel. If you send someone in a beat car they cannot share that information. Personnel in management and at the academy use that knowledge and share it through training and policy creation.
Lets think before we hate. Lets respect our peers.
Check out a Res H.S. alumni mailing in which a member of the policy group (K.B.) brags that she, "reports directly to the Superintendant" and "has not only succeded, but DOMINATED" in her law enforcemet career.

I have been in patrol awhile. I have never scaled backward down a wall. Particularly on company time.
Additionally, for the 5 hours a day that you push paper, my (female) ass is out on the street for the full tour. There is no "Code 49" because I want to take underwater basketweaving classes or whatever else you are "entitled" to take with your 7 years otj.
Go back to the street and start doing real police work. I suggest not in 025. Nobody likes you there.
Not sure what you are looking at. They are both code 47 tue-fri. (im sure that was changed thanks to scc)but it still doesnt explain why two members of the Policy Group need to be certified as pistol instructors on company time
I don't know even know what to say because I am sick of just learning about WTA. It is a complete insult and embarrassment to female officers everywhere. Those two female "founding" officers are immature goofs and obviously nothing but flirts and skirts placed there only to make JW feel like a man. Damn it this job just keeps getting worse every day.

There is an old saying that I am sure you have heard of: "Those who can, do, and those who can't, teach". So why don't you take all that training and hide safely in that empty building.
And for your argument for respect, respect the fact that while you, these two girls, and every other house mouse hides behind a desk, I risk my ass working the streets.

I have 20 years on the job. I've been a detective since November of 1998. I still work 3rd watch and I still bust my ass. I've put a lot of jag offs in jail for the prime years of their lives. Some broad from a blue ribbon panel with a lipstick bullet as her personal logo is not my peer.

I attended one meeting of your group and I was disgusted. I could not believe the lack of background or experience ie. of these female officers had. Blondie of the Policy group has aspirations of becoming the first female SWAT officer in Chicago. That is why the WTA was started and that is why she is doing tactical shooting training on the company dime. It is one of the things they look for. She has also approached a TV show to do her story as she goes through the SWAT process. All of this is just immaterial because when Ray Ray finally decides to go to SWAT, you know the spot held open for him as the other sgt's got screwed, he will make sure his personal Barbie gets in. And then wait for the Barbie Bearcat to come out in stores.

Karen thank you for being the role model every female officer should follow. Good luck in swat, however talking to peeps over there and they saying morale starting to take a dip there as well

Karen, a grown woman should not use the word "peeps." I would die of embarrassment if my law enforcement career was a nothing more than a sham to get myself on the swat team by shmoozing those who have the power to make that happen. Your position is nothing more than a cover to satisfy your own personal agenda. You make women look bad-as if we can't make the swat team without all the special allowances like time off work. what's the point of being the first female swat officer if you don't have the respect of your peers?
Oh, I know, so you can do female searches on search warrants? Yeah, no thanks.....I tried to assist the SWAT team a few times when they needed a female for a search....what a bunch of demanding assholes.
Sure you can kick a door down, throw in some flash bangs, talk on your fancy headsets but you will have to just stand there and scratch your nuts until I get there to find the rocks on your "prisoner."

For all the other female (and male) officers hoping to go to SWAT I hope you had the same opportunity to see exactly what is being tested first hand. That way you can prepare properly. Wait, you mean you weren't allow to attend every testing cycle for the sergeants? And take pictures of Ray Ray for your scrap book. Now that just doesn't seem fair does it. Here's a thought: instead of sitting in an office or going to assorted police training classes, how about actually GOING out on the street and BEING the police? What better tactical training than working as a police each day? And just think, it's an opportunity to build relationships with your coworkers and actually practice some of the leadership stuff you continually push through the speakers series. Now there is a though.

Chances are she will make SWAT. Not because she is qualified but because Ray Hamilton will make it happen. Why he is being taken back after all the shit he has pulled in the past is beyond me. Anyone else would have been fired for some of the stunts he has pulled. But with his boy toy Louie M to lubricate his return to Swat I guess all is well. Why not just forgo the whole sham of the tryouts and just take the people you want. Save alot of people the BS of thinking its legit. And Sgt AK saying "the days of getting onto swat with a phone call are over, thats bullshit." Hey Ak how was your tryout and selection process? Thats right, the phone call. Save us your BS. How long have you been non-operational? Almost 2 years? Been on 2 jobs in your career in swat. Now in charge of training. That makes alot of sense. Maybe when Barbie comes over she can be you assistant, she can carry your shovel. Same HBT bullshit, many of the same clout babies. It will never be legit until you get rid of the clout babies.

the enemies you make now will pay you back years from now so just be careful about what you say to whom word spreads like wildfire so dont dime people out if you cant protect yourself just somethin I learned along time ago I keep my mouth shut and do my 8 hours at least I know I wont be Fed with and wont go to jail. Apparently whoever wrote this is clueless. First, shes not in swat so no need to wish her well. Second there are good women who will be trying out hopefully, and will deserve it when they pass if they do. And third, if im not mistaken, she's too late, there was already a female in swat a few yrs. ago. Ahhh, too bad, K.
And morale is fine, but if you want to see it spiral downward bring in the clouted one. The Sgt. that will no doubt make Lt., He should shoot for something higher, like deputy, thats what heavy people do R.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, and im a female laughing at this. 300 really, how come when I went to one meeting a few mos. ago there were 12 officers that showed up?
