Police Limit

An cartoon drawn and published by a cop:

He even uses our favorite word! In any event, it's a weekly cartoon with a whole bunch of parallels to Chicago, some very uncanny parallels. It's also here at this link and if you get a chance, check the archives all the way back to late 2007/early 2008.

....there are parallels drawn out in the street to things from comic books. the best is some of the arrests i've had over the years are right out of a batman comic book. i sometimes think i work in gotham city with a cast of characters.

Most of the exempts are either Riddlers or Two Faced, and I would say Daley is the Joker, only he's TOO DAMN CRAZY to be that guy !

Has everyone been getting that National Police Agency survey from UIC? I'm not sure what link everyone else has gotten but the link may be unique for each person so it can identify you. Look after the "SID=" If the value's are all different then they could be tied to you. Check your buddies. If they are all identical then don't worry about it and be honest.

So much for D/D being the CPD's savior. Captains Assc page is saying that as of next period, no Captains on 2nd Watch (with 5 exceptions). Here come the retirements / medicals. Great timing in the middle of summer

I have a character named Otto and of course he is a victim of a theft (theft from Otto).....This story cronicles Otto's experience and frustrations from a comical standpoint as he first discovers the theft and is undecided if he should report it. When he decides to file a report; he has to put up with a cranky calltaker, then the field officer, then a field sergeant, then Callback, then the thief, and finally the desk crew of his home district all the while cursing his decision to even file a report.

I want to thank the 3rd watch CPD officer who was hard up for a couple of traffic tickets this afternoon..... The jag and partner stopped my wife for talkin on her cell phone this afternoon. Yes, she was wrong for talking on the phone and not having her D.L on her person. We all leave our houses in a rush sometimes and forget our wallets or purses. But did he have to take her into the District and write her after she mentioned I was a P.O. This officer stated he did it b/c she gave him attitude ( And if she did, which I doubt should have put her in place). How many times has some shit bag given you attitude or motherfu...u and you walk away without taking them in or doing any paper on the incident. Was he really that thirsty that he had to stop a female w/ a 2 year old baby for talking on a phone. Come on..I could think of a more productive stop. I know what kind of relationship I now have with the 9th Dist.

Come on..I could think of a more productive stop. I know what kind of relationship I now have with the 9th Dist.

If that was my wife and son, I would not use the blog to air my anger. Go to the district and talk to the officer to his face. How brave will he be talking to a man instead of a female with a baby. Do not judge a district for one asshole. This is a sad story. We cannot extend courtesy to family members?

Don't be a hater, Lieutenant.
Don't be so impressed with yourself,Craptain, aside from the pay I'd rather be a field lieutenant than a captain any day.
It's a dead end job that makes self important types think they're better than they are.
A watch commander is not that difficult to do, a PO can and has done it. With the right training a college kid can probably do it. All you do is sign some forms and push buttons and act like you're lord of the realm.
Get over yourself.

Dear Trooper:
I wasn't there, so I can't say what happened with any authority. But I will say this, based on your account of what happened.
Not many Chicago Patrolmen are out there writing citations today. Even the so called 'traffic unit' is dealing with numbers that are way, way down.
No one is feeling much love for the City, our infamous Mayor, nor our clueless Superintendent
or clout heavy arrogant and equally clueless Chief of Staff in the CPD. So, offhand, I would have to surmise that your better half's attitude was what sealed the deal with regard to being brought to the station and being issued tickets. It's a whole lot of hassle to bring a traffic violator to the station, especially a female with a baby, and few officers today would go through that trouble, unless the violator's mouth made it an acceptable option. I've found in my 22 years of law enforcement experience that being pleasant and cordial has a lot to do with whether or not I would or would not issue a traffic citation to a violator.
