Contradictions Abound

  • Sources said the Police Department was analyzing surveillance video, and officers were "hitting the gang-bangers hard" to shake loose any information about the killing, one of three slayings of Chicago Police officers in two months.
But in the final closing paragraph:
  • Despite the attacks on police, Daley said he's not about to turn a blind eye to officers who engage in excessive force. "If some police officer comes out and starts whacking people around here, you'll have an outrage," he said. "We are a country of laws."
We're still waiting to see if there's any fallout from the Commander of 001 saying the police have to be unhandcuffed, the FOP president saying the police have to be unhandcuffed, and the Chaplain saying the police have to be unhandcuffed. If we were betting people (which we are), we'd lay odds J-Fled is on the ropes here as a scapegoat.

More contradictions:
  • Mayoral press secretary Jacquelyn Heard said the hirings were set into motion weeks ago, before Sunday morning's slaying of Bailey, whom Daley knew personally and called "a wonderful guy."
But just two days ago, Heard was saying Shortshanks was "familiar" with the officer who guarded the mayoral residence so the Daley's could sleep safely.

And a belated "Welcome to Our World" to aldercreature Lyle:
  • Ald. Freddrenna Lyle (6th), whose South Side ward includes the Bailey shooting, said the violence stems from a lack of respect for police officers she saw during a recent "ride around" in her ward with a district commander.

"The commander got out and asked this young man to get off a woman's porch. He did it nicely -- by putting his hand on the guy's shoulder. And the guy got all riled up and said, 'Why are you touching me?' I was shocked. I never in my life thought people would respond that way," Lyle said.

"I had a female officer tell me they called her b---- so much, she thought her name was b---- by the end of the day. That goes to the total lack of respect."

And who's teaching this lack of respect? It couldn't possibly be the reverends, race-baiters, poverty pimps, combined with the utter lack of parenting and coping skills prevalent in an entire swath of the south side, could it?

If brains were dynamite, these idiots couldn't blow their noses. And that includes the mayor, the supernintendo, the aldercreature and the "reverends." Combined.

I will personally bet my retro check If shortshanks can tell me what color hair Officer Bailey had!

Daley is nothing more than a sack of shit.

Hey SCC, you say "utter lack of parenting and coping skills prevalent in an entire swath of the south side" What the hell does that suppose to mean....I'm a parent who has resided on the southside for 50 years and my neighborhood is not drug and gang infested. My son graduated top of his class at Harvard University and is a successful Doctor....I would advise that you watch your mouth SCC.

We saw what happened to Jon Burge when he went after the killers of two police officers. He is on his way to jail.

Flint Taylor and Jon Loevy are monitoring what is happening in this investigation.

Be careful out there!

I wonder how many times Daley even acknowleged the mere presence of Officer Bailey as he guarded his home. Did Bailey ever get a nod, a wave, a hello, a good morning? I highly doubt it.

Stunned? She doesn't need a "ride-around"...just needs to look right out of her front window...she does live in the area, right?

When the courts start giving criminals the hard earned money of a working Police Officer, the hard working Police Officer ceases to be a 'hard working'.

So if you are the victim of a crime, remember the too lenient judges and the lowlife lawyers that steal your tax dollars and victimize your Police Officers. They have produced the policy that allows the criminal to run your City. They have empowered the thugs and leashed your sheepdogs.

Here's the thing boys and girls. I know if if I crack a mope on the street, chances are I will be suspended if it is proven. I don't have a problem with that. Sometimes it's just worth it. What I don't understand is the trying to fire me or have me federally charged. I have 4 years to go, and not going to risk it for Shortshanks re-election.

I know one way you can hire more P.O.'s. Cut the number of aldercreatures to 25. 1 of them per district so that the commanders only have to cater to one useless skinbag. Then take their offices and move them into the caps area of the station and call it a day. Think of all the overhead saved by doing that. And all of the unmonitored slush funds that would be eliminated. That makes up a good number of P.O.'s salaries and justifies the raises the tards awarded themselves recently.

Dont ask to take the handcuffs off. just do it then write your paper the way you are supposed to and you will be fine. Then as usual the city can dole out the cash to the shitheads that sue em. right or wrong. They can do that, or they can keep ponying up cash for funerals and wages for deceased P.O.'s families.

I would always without exception preffer to ask forgiveness than permission.

Are we really going to ask permission from a prick that has a 15 man security detail if we can defend ourselves against the criminal element.

The ones to blame are the "fake" shouth side extorionist reverends and the polititions, with Daley at the top. They sell their soles to controll the votes.
Second, isn't more important to protect the city to make an environment that is safe to live and conduct business? Without that what do we have? Daley has plenty of money hidden, but he would rather give it to his friends and families companies. How about the Cristy Webber landscaping company with car loads of illegals doing work that is unnecessary. Cut a few wastefull projects and use the money to hire more police and protect the city.

too late the damage is done if the police were unhandcuffed most of the officers now on the job wouldnt know how to police. This job is strictly black and white now. The grey area is gone and so are alot of good veteran coppers. You have alot of rookies training rookies. I hate to say it the worst thing that ever happened to this job was implemeting straight watches granted it sucked rotating because as a department we did it ass backwards but there was more Ill watch your ass you watch mine on this job. You took pride in your job when you were picked up by a watch especially the best watch because most of the bossess and fellow officers wanted you because you were a hard worker. Best line I ever heard from a veteran officer was take pride in your job kid you came on this job to do something then lock up one for the company and then do one for yourself and make that one count. Well thats all gone so is the department the band has stopped playing and there are no more lifeboats. Everyone stay safe

Kind of like the OUTRAGE that is already happening because of the increasing attacks on police, Mayor Daley? Is that a good example to help express your point, or are you going to ignore that, too?

Speaking of being a "country of laws," why don't you start letting YOUR officers ENFORCE those laws?! Mayor Daley, it is time for a change! I wonder what laws YOU have broken and gotten away with ...

The answer to the entire question is: unhandcuff the police. Period.

All other debates and discussions are ancillary to that one issue. Until the police can do their jobs, a whole host of negative social consequences will arise.

This is not Mayberry. It's Chicago. Chicago requires Chicago style policing. If we do not let Chicago Cops police Chicago in the Chicago way, the city will continue down the miserable path it's on...

Don't even allow yourselves to get baited or sidetracked into any other discussion or debate. There is one singular issue, and that is ridding ourselves of the procedures and policies that prevent Chicago Police from being Chicago Police.

I really, really hate the current administration. For the first time in my life, I will be politically active, I will volunteer, I will do all I can. This bullshit must end for the sake of my area and many others like it.

Note the words "entire swath." Perhaps you don't live in that swath! So STFU. Good for you, raising a good kid. Hope he/she isn't a classic liberal who sides with the "downtrodden youth" committing these crimes because they are "disadvantaged."

"swath
n.
1. a. The width of a scythe stroke or a mowing-machine blade.
b. A path of this width made in mowing.
2. Something likened to a swath; a strip."

I know the sorry animals and few civilians we protect don't realize that the mayor is full of shit when he says there is no money to hire more police. There WAS money but NOW it is being used to fund something else the mayor wants. Money not used on salary for the allotted 13,200 officers is placed back into the general fund for more flowers and such. That's why there is no money to hire more officers... he can't spend the money twice. City cried poor mouth but donated $15 million to mayors wife's charity last year. After school matters. .... but its only for kids that live in certain areas.

Some (if not most or all) of the south side politicians are full of baloney too. :(

I tried to post this about Ald. Lyle on the Cuban Style Chicago Breaking News :

This in reference to Ald Lyle commenting on Officer Bailey's death:

Alderman Lyle is clueless, when she blames the economy, fewer resources and project tear downs for the increasing crime in her ward. Lyle thought Englewood was her big headache. Guess again, because even Park Manor and Chatham are becoming Englewood2 and Englewood3. Why didn't Lyle grab some TIF and parking meter money for self defense and weapon training classes in her ward? Lyle knew former public housing residents were moving in, but chose to hide her head in the sand. What an insult to the longtime residents of Chatham, Park Manor and similar areas who were fighting these exact issues fifty years ago, during White Flight. Lyle's solution is the usual blame game and banning park basketball. Lyle, learn two things please: 1) banning citizens from owning guns doesn't decrease crime and 2) when the economy was better, Englewood and similar areas had the same crime problems you are now experiencing because of free will.
