This is a Surprise?

  • Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire from a van striking a man inside another vehicle at a traffic light in Humboldt Park early Wednesday on the West Side.

At 2 a.m., a maroon-colored conversion van was northbound on North Humboldt Drive when a gunman inside shot a 22-year-old man in the arm as he was stopped at the traffic light in the 3000 block of West Division Street, according to a police News Affairs release.

And every copper reading, along with every resident within a mile of Humboldt Park, says, "Tell us something we don't know." We'll bet there are coppers who can't name a day that gunfire hasn't occurred within the bounds of Humboldt Park over the past 30 years. We say "30 years" because the guy with 35 years just quit last week.

This isn't news. This is filler.

I shot a weapon for the first time 15 years ago in Humboldt Park. A 357 revolver and my ears are still ringing. Stupid things people do...

I live in Humboldt Park, 4 years going now. I've been at Humboldt (Sacramento) between Grand and North while coming home and it's like the "Shitbird Express". These gangsters ram each, shoot at each other, it's crazy. And they're moving North and West as well...

it was a jewish neighborhood for decades. PR migration stated in late 50s early 60s. the spit hit the fan after that. humboldt park riots and daily violence was insane in the 70s. used to be a gang on every street and a shooting everyday. the yuppie complainers would ve shit themselves back in the day! comparing apples and oranges.

This is a Surprise?

Not to these fellow officers that have clout....and friends in high places....Will the future stars of animal planet have their days cancelled?
Bet not. They're getting their hair and makeup done for Septembers TV show.

They have the nerve to ask patrolmen to work their days off for the fucking dangerous city, yet, while approve a tv show for fucking elite friends of headquarters gold who already benefit by their take home covert cars and self made hours, they approved this yesterday in city counsel:
Animal Planet wants to enter into a long-term agreement with the city of Chicago to allow taping of the unit’s everyday activities. On Wednesday, it received city council committee approval and could go to the full city council for a vote as early as next week.

This is absolutely sickening. Now they'll make a killing with Animal Planet--while regular patrolmen are GETTING KILLED!

Those shots woke me up this morning, I have been looking for an apartment in Lincoln Park all day. I can't deal with this neighborhood anymore.
