Who Doesn't Love Dogs?
Chicago's Animal Care and Control Department should not be demonized because four dogs were wrongly put to death at the city pound four years ago, Mayor Richard Daley said Friday.
The West Side compound handles huge numbers of dogs, the mayor said. He called on the media not to overreact to the cases of mistaken euthanasia between February and July 2006.
"Mistakenly? Four. Four," said Daley, who leaned into the microphone when asked about the issue. "Look, mistaken, it's an accident, so they corrected it."
It isn't the mistake that's the problem Shortshanks. It's the incompetence displayed by your administration, your appointees and the cover up that followed. And we highly doubt it was only "four" animals.
Is this the opening salvo in an effort to demonize Daley as an animal hater? Or is it just a slow news Saturday?

WE (CPD) bitch and moan, puff out our chest and make threats, but yet we never show up in force to vote him out.
Hell, at your next roll call ask the 6 or 7 coppers working on the 3rd Watch (the rest are detailed to new summer initiatives) if they are even registered to vote.
Until we can get our act together, we will never, never vote this little prick out. I just hope that he steps on his dick one too many times for all of the barack loving liberals out there, and hopefully by the grace of god, they decide that enough is enough.
Can you explain how the hell you "correct" a euthanized dog? It's DEAD! Let's euthanize Shortshanks and let someone correct that!

Hundreds pf people can be murdered and you will get outrage from the families, yawns from the rest.

Remember all the publicity about the killing of a mountain lion in Roscoe Village? Death threats followed.
But rescue one dog, oh boy, that brings out all the news helicopters and headlines for days. Remember that dog rescue in the river on the ice about 10 years ago? That was in the papers for a long time.
This might do it, paint daley as a dog killer and he will never ever live it down. The animal lovers will crucify him. I can only hope.

I'd vote for Michael Vick before I'd vote for that rat cocksucker Daley.
Dear scc: so when my head is being served up on a silver platter for something that I did that I really didn't do, or think I did or didn't know I was doing, then I won't have to worry about anything cause it was a mistake, it was an accident and I promise I'll never do it again. Wow, that's all it takes? I thought it would be much harder to get out of trouble. I'll even write it on yellow paper, just in case.
I love my dog and I will cry like a baby when he goes, but with the amount of dogs that they take in there are bound to be mistakes.
We need to euthanize all the idiots letting "rocks" and pit bulls breed out of control.

Daley wants you to put those euthanizations into perspective. That's rich. He puts in some political hack to run the animal control center with NO ANIMAL EXPERIENCE. Let's see someone with NO EXPERIENCE try to run a School system, Transit system, Communications system, or a Police Dept, (Did I leave any out?).

This MAYOR is a bigger lunkhead than Stroger. I'm surprised he doesn't set up a million $ scholarship fund for inner city mutts to go to obedience school as a good jesture to all the animal lovers out there he's offended,whom I hope remember his remarks come 2011.

Amen to that, daley IS pure evil, the anti-christ, Beelzebub, Satan, Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness, the fallen angel, the crooked serpent, he who all evil emanates from, Azazel; may he be cast into the fires of hell and suffer eternal damnation, after he is voted out of office or indicted.

If you are not registered to vote, see a Unit Rep and get registered on the spot but VOTE for someone other than mumbles.
I prefer dogs over most all people. Never did care much for cats, but cruelty to a helpless dog is something that will fill me with a special sort of red hot hatred.
Don't know what went on here with this situation, however, lets just hope the dogs that were 'accidentally' killed were not beloved family pets. If a chain of circumstances went down that saw my dog wind up at the city pound and they "accidentally" killed her before I could show up, I would be going to jail that day, possibly for quite some time....
