No, and Hell No

At least that's what we told the pollster who called the house during dinner:
  • White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel planned to meet privately with Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. of Illinois on Wednesday night to discuss the Chicago mayor's race, according to two people familiar with the plan.

The meeting follows Emanuel's decision to commission a poll testing his viability as a mayoral candidate, and as he tries to help the White House retain Democratic majorities in Congress.

When you live in the cesspool of Illinois politics, voters have to be wary of what floats up from the depths. Rahm is one of those things surfacing from the nether regions of Hell. His only redeeming quality would be scaring off less well-funded candidates that might split voting blocs.

Like someone once said on here, and I whole heartily agree with it. We need an outsider to run for mayor. Someone who is a businessman and has made himself/herself wealthy and owes nothing to anyone.

"Rahm is one of those things surfacing from the nether regions of Hell."

Whatever you might think about Weis, at least he came here by way of our own FBI, and is not a dual-citizenship member of a foreign military service.

Talk about an "outsider..."

Interesting. I have a non-pub number and come election time the phone rings non-stop with polls, surveys and taped recorded messages (One of Danny Davis almost made me throw up my dinner). Got me to wondering, they make you put your phone number on your voter registration paperwork, does that give them the right to use it when you are on a national Do Not Call list? It is definitely soliciting.

A fly on the wall at this meeting reports the following:

Jesse Jackson Jr and Rahm Emmanuel first discussed what did Patrick Fitzgerald tape involving them when he was listening to Blago?

Then they discussed how they could remove Patrick Fitzgerald as far from Chicago as possible!

They agreed that he would make a great United States Ambassador to Tibet or Outer Mongolia.

Then they agreed to split up the spoils in Chicago.

We are doomed!

Let's all hope Rahm can get on the ticket! That is great news. One of the requirements to be mayor is you must be a Chicago resident for one year. We all know he hasn't been in the city for a year, he's lived in Washington, D.C. This is a city ordinance. If the city allows him to run for mayor without actually living here but only having a house than I will open an SRO building for all coppers and other city workers. This would be a huge victory for city workers in terms of residency.

I did some tele-marketing for about two weeks when I was younger. When we got our list of numbers we had no idea who they belonged to. They went something like this: 555-1234, 555-1235, 555-1236 and so on. Sometimes I think they just get a list of numbers and go down the list. Sometimes they called big business that had a main number like 555-1200. Then when they would call 555-1201 and that company's numbers could go up to 1299, depending on how many lines the company used.

If anyone has the nerve to call my home phone with bullshit then they will have to tough it out when I curse the shit out of them. I get them to hang up on me and still get a kick out of it. Sometimes I demand their full name, home address and phone number. They are typically sorry they called.

Re: National Do Not Call List
Unfortunately, politicians/political campaigns are allowed to call us. I still report them to the National Do Not Call Registry . Eventually, they stop calling.
