Voter Registration

The deadline is fast approaching, and the truly amazing thing is you can register to vote from the comfort of your own chair without ever leaving home.
  1. Go to this link at ChicagoElections.com

  2. Skip step #1 and go right to this link for "Register to Vote"

  3. Skip both of those steps and go right to this link, which is a .pdf document you just print out, fill out, fold, stamp and mail.
The US Postal Service will take it right from you at your own door. All you have to do is show up on Election Day and vote at your designated polling place. After the first time voting, you don't even have to show up again, but can request absentee ballots for the rest of your voting career.

We really don't know how they could make it any simpler. 05 October is the deadline.

I don't know if it was in the scumtimes or tribune, but there was an article relative to rahm's residency. Basically it said even though he didn't currently live in the city, and had rented his house out for the last two years, he was a registered voter in the city and as such thereby satisfied the city's residency requirement. Sounds like a loophole to me!!!! Seems what's good for the mayor's good for the police. Let's investigte and if he is able to withstand the challenges to it, we should then declare legal precident to do the same. It would be much more satisfying to deal with the bullshit rampant in this deseased city if we actually lived in the suburbs. It would save me much anxiety over what my kid are gonna inherit.

Now all we need is for ACORN to come register all the people who died the last 4 years and have these corpses vote from a vacant lot. Oops, I almost forgot, gotta get the illegals (I'm sorry, undocumented workers, I'm just so insensitive) a voters card so they can vote straight welfare/amnesty party. Oops, there I go again, straight Democrat. Don't forget, these working fools still have some dollars left in their pockets, we gotta take 'em away from them before they do something stupid like save some of them or buy something for their own families.

Per news outlets, we have 'credible but not specific' reports of what may be Mumbai style attacks of heavily armed cels rampaging across places yet unknown... and here we are, in a city and understaffed to the point that significant crimes in progress get no dispatch, because there are even more significant, ongoing crimes in other places.

This is not a good time to be undermanned, under-trained, unprepared. Whoever we elect, they must make staffing, training and equipping a priority. The notion that we have responders who can't even get a fucking car is beyond the pale.

It is not a bad idea for every LEO to read up on the Mumbai attacks, what sort of things they had to deal with, the catastrophic failure of Indian local Law Enforcement and what could've been done better. Imagine two dozen Gypsies strolling down Michigan Avenue with grenades and AK's. This is scary shit.

If it's going to happen here, lets at least vote in people who intend to situate and equip the first responders properly, rather than continue to cut them down to bare bones. If we don't, and we're the ones who draw the short straw if/when the cel-style attacks happen here, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Unfortunately, most people will still not register. They'll give a million excuses why they can't but I vote in every election. Not because I necessarily like the selection of candidates, but just to fuck with their heads.

If everyone voted, it would shake everything up. There would be no more predicting outcomes. And that would be a good thing.

You're at the computer now. Click that fucking button, fill it out and send it in. And make sure everyone in your house is registered too. You'll be glad you did.

When it comes time to vote remember that the property tax bills have been delayed because a big increase is on the way.

Michael Madigan and Joe Berrios have ensured that the delay will occur because they are worried about their election chances so the bills are delayed to Thanksgiving.

Madigan has a law firm that represents big business and property owners downtown who receive want tax breaks that Berrios decides upon.

"If you are a registered voter and continue to vote from your residence, you establish what we consider the intent to be a resident of the city of Chicago," Chicago Election Board Chairman Langdon Neal said.

If you can move out of your home, maintain your voting and DL to be a resident, then why does IAD follow people?

How can you register your car and voting address for a place you do not reside?

The elements of residency are intent and physical presence. Moving out and renting your residence shows no intent and no physical presence.

If he is allowed to run, we can all move out, rent our homes, keep voter registration and DL at address and meet residency.

Hey! You can't call the attackers by their identifiable ethnicity, only by their citizenship on paper. After all, you might be able to capture them if you knew what they looked like.

Here --

Official: Germans, Brits behind Europe terror plot

By ASIF SHAHZAD and PAISLEY DODDS, Associated Press Writers

"ISLAMABAD – Eight Germans and two British brothers are at the heart of an al-Qaida-linked terror plot against European cities..."

Is that so? You have to dig to find that it's "two British brothers of Pakistani origin,"

What kind and shape of "Germans" are we looking for? No one will say.

"Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office would not comment on the report of eight Germans being involved. But a spokeswoman...said there are indications that some 220 people have traveled from Germany to Pakistan and Afghanistan for paramilitary training, and 'concrete evidence' that 70 of those had done so."

There. Blue eyes and blond hair and wearing Lederhosen? Dark eyes and dark hair and wearing a turban? Nein! It'd be "racist" to give out a description. Let's just wait until they start shooting in a kindergarten or something.

The West is doomed. We will fall all over ourselves being polite beyond all reason, until it literally kills us.

In case anyone doesn't understand --

Daley has picked Rahm Emanuel as our next mayor -- the same way he decided that Obama would be our Predisent -- and David Axelrod, Emanuel's co-religionist and the most dangerous Democratic political organizer in the country, is also leaving the White House to come here and run the Emanuel "campaign" -- with plenty of push from Daley, who'll be in soft clothes and on the phone to everybody he knows.

This Emanuel is going to be forced on us as though with a hydraulic press.

"There's another report of a senior citizen using a gun to fight back agains thugs. This time, one of the alleged thugs was killed.

"Authorities say Frank T. Obrochta, 45, of Melrose Park and Franko Martinelli, 32, of the 2200 block of West Erie, Chicago, broke into a Ukrainian Village home on the 2100 block of West Huron at about 11 p.m. Monday.

"Obrachta was caught soon after and he is now charged with home invasion and murder during the commission of a felony.

"Under state law, if someone dies during commission of a felony, the person committing that felony is charged in the death, whether or not he intended for anyone to get hurt.

"The Cook County State's Attorney's Office said bond for Obrachta is set at $750,000. Obrachta has an extensive criminal record in both Cook and Lake County.

Ecuador coup attempt? On Thursday, President Rafael Correa was attacked, a state of emergency was declared, and police across the country revolted.

By Sara Miller Llana, Staff writer / September 30, 2010

Mexico City

"Ecuador President Rafael Correa was holed up in Quito on Thursday afternoon after being attacked by police angered over changes to their job benefits.

"In the aftermath of that attack, police across the country revolted, a state of emergency was declared, and flights into the country were canceled. While what exactly is going on in the Ecuadorian capital is still being sorted out, some fear the South American nation could be witnessing its second coup in a decade.

"'What started as a rebellion over salaries could end in something tragic,' says Ramiro Crespo, president of Analytica Securities in Ecuador.

"The crisis erupted when Correa attempted to enter a police barracks in Quito to mollify officers angry at Wednesday's passage of a law that cut bonus pay and extended the time period for receiving promotions, from five years to seven. The law has not yet been published so is not in effect.

"The president was roughed up and sprayed with tear gas, and eventually fled to a hospital. Police officers across the country soon took over their barracks. Highways were blocked by burning tires, schools were shut down, and many businesses closed. Residents of Quito were urged to stay in their homes."

Talk about pricks, you must mean SEIU pricks, the rent-a-mob thugs, which I bet you are a member of. Getting ready for your next bus trip to intimidate and make it appear the left has numbers on their side?

And there is a lot worse than the pres's kids going on vacation, but the propaganda wing of the democratic party, (the media) will not do its job and inform the citizens.

But I'm sure you got your reparations by getting a home loan because of the Community Reinvestment Act, got your ride through Cash for Clunkers, and got some dough from "Obama's stash" because you were a discriminated against, being turned down for a loan as a "black farmer." All of this paid for by the overtaxed working stiff middleclass. What are you bitching about? Thank you for taking part in the destruction of this country.

Unions were a good thing back in the early part of the 20th century when employers took advantage of workers. The pendulum has swung the other way, unions played a role in ruining this country. They protect the lazy. I know, I saw it as a member of Steelworkers and Teamster unions.

Aunt Ester's Area 51 ain't no Harold’s

Aunt Esther is going to be in the junk yard with Fred and the big dummy soon if she can't turn A-1 around. Old news is Esther has been given 30 days to turn things around. New news is Esther's ideas that she thinks will make Area 51 look like Harold’s #51, her favorite dining spot. The guard shack can't miss the empty boxes in her back seat.
Esther was called in to the 35th street bowling alley 4 weeks ago over the fact she had a serial drug dealer killer roaming the streets of area 51 killing big competition. However, Aunt Esther was to busy looking at carpet samples for her office to have noticed this fact. Esther had no idea and was put back in Fred’s pickup truck to see her Sgt. Snitch for answers. Before Esther could call her Sgt. a big dummy, 35th ordered a task force be assembled asap to take action before cbs Skippy found out.
Now Harold’s #51 Step #1.Esther is going to take V.C. Detectives and replace them with P.C. and S.V.U Detectives. Mixing the salt and pepper. The kicker, no one wants to work in V.C. and 35th street is well aware Esther has ruined the entire Unit. Esther's plan, which she already submitted to 35th in her quest for Harold’s #51 is not making the Skull happy and she was told to resubmit more detail this week. Step #2.is to have one man V.C. cars. Esther reports how this will allow Detectives more time to work each case, given the man power situation. Esther will allow assists on the scene, but V.C. Det.'s will work the case alone and a V.C. Sgt., who will now be required at the scene, will assist. No joke, it's on paper, and in her report she tells of the great success she has had creating one man cars in P.C. and S.V.U. years ago. The cut in overtime, the boost in individual Detectives morale, accountability, etc. etc., you know the drill. Step #3.Esther will be detailing Det.'s to V.C. by cutting the sacred management spots on days to fill the 3rd and 1st watches this November. Step #4.Esther is replacing V.C. Sgt.'s, which our sources in the Area state they were threatened with this past Monday afternoon. Esther stated she had a long list of Sgt.'s eager to come to the Area. Esther synopsis of Area 51 is the lack of Supervision in V.C. by the Sergeants. Step #5.Esther will immediately assign each V.C. Sgt. to several Detectives. Their time will be accounted for and an RD# must be attached to the location of their cars on the GPS. V.C. Detectives will be told each day what case they will work and will submit a supplementary report into chris for everything they have done on the cases each day.
Aunt Esthers report was not well received by the bosses who run the bowling alley and a few even refuse to talk to her directly. The quote in the alley, “she better be careful, she has no V.C. Lieutenant to buffer her from being held accountable".
Step #6. Which was not in Aunt Esther's plan, is to replace Esther by making a lateral move. Esther will be dumped, but 35th has already said they can not make it obvious and will move her to a command spot office away from decision making. Have you been to 35th street bowling alley, we have plenty of empty rooms for another Commander with a phone that doesn't ring. Now, Aunt Esther is required to update her plan every two weeks and report to 35th street with progress, but it’s a formality and has since told her Sgt. Snitch she is worried. Aunt Esther had been reminded she has been the longest Area Commander and should have resolved these issues years ago, if not months ago. Aunt Esther has decimated the 1st and 3rd V.C. watches over the years and now she has a mess on her hands. And yes, the carpet was put on hold.

Good luck A-1, and yes there has been a Sgt. calling down here keeping the skull informed before Aunt Esther has a chance. Somebody's trying to reserve a chair in the game of musical chairs before the music stops.

Aunt Esther's Area 51 ain't no Harolds.

I wouldn't say we all get protected. Yes, we all get defended, but sometimes the unworthy is connected and thus protected from being fired. The poor unconnected schlub is defended but is not protected, and ultimately thrown to the wolves.

They all cut deals with the company to protect the connected in situations where the unconnected would be fired. Those unions are no different than the F.O.P. .

Dear SCC,

When would it be a good time to start talking about lifting the residency restriction.

There I said it, I know what a taboo subject it is. It's the dirty little secret on everybodies mind but no one wants to talk about it!

Welcome new reader!

Evidently, you've never been here before. That issue crops up constantly. We've done posts on it before and seeing as how it's State Law, lifting residency will take either a bill in Springfield or a copper with deep enough pockets to fight it in the Courts because the FOP has so far refused to sue over it, even though every FOP Lodge that has fought this battle has won hands down.

People talk about it all the time. Getting anyone to do anything about it seems to be our stumbling block.

I don't think Meeks will be on the ballot to run he's just a loud mouth from the South-side. So he lives in South Holland?
You know he could'nt be a mega church pastor, a state rep. and the Mayor. I'm sure he has a scandle in his closet somewhere... Anyone?

If a non-resident is considered to be a resident because he never changed his voters registration card or d/l then what's the problem with non-resident p/o's applying for a job in Chicago.

Take a lesson.

"How do they prove that you are an American citizen who can vote? How do you do that over the internet?"

They haven't even proven that THE PRESIDENT is an American citizen.

All of the polls have the democrats going on to victory in Illinois and cook county in November. I frankly am tired of all of the incumbants who have collectively made a mess of government and the treasury in the past few years. I am going to vote against any incumbant, no matter what party they belond to. If Preckwinkle wins the county board presidency, there will be no real reform in the way things are done. I see DSupage County just indicted an alderman for taking money with a promise of Hawks tickets and failing to produce the tickets. WOW! Where is Anita Alverez when we need her?

Stopped voting years ago. It don't matter who's in office. They're all the same.

Because only 25% of cops vote is one of the biggest reasons that Shorty and company can push us around.

YOU SIR, ARE PART OF OUR PROBLEM!

I just found one of my neighbors not registered, got the form and had her fill it out and sign it.

I called Board of Elections, as long as the form is POSTMARKED OCTOBER 5TH it will be processed. I willl carry it to the Post Office.

Stay Safe and Vote.
