Whoops Homicide

  • A Des Plaines man who police say was involved in a fight at a Rush Street nightclub two years ago died of his injuries Monday morning. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Jason Stangeland, 30, of Des Plaines, was pronounced dead at 5:03 a.m. Monday at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Stangeland had been in a fight at the Level nightclub on the 1000 block of North Rush at 1 a.m. on Feb. 10, 2008, Des Plaines Police Deputy Chief Rich Rozkuszka said. During the altercation he suffered a blow to the head, possibly with a beer bottle, Rozkuszka said.

Does the Predictive Analysis Unit have 1.21 gigawatts of electricity needed to make time travel possible?

And if they could time travel, would they go to the icky Viagra Triangle?

If I had a chance to be detailed to such an awesome unit, I'd time travel over to London & jam with the Stones!

You're invited, SCC!

Very sad. You look at the guys facebook page, he appears to be an ordinary, regular guy who umped baseball games, etc. He even lists police work as an interest, right along side music and video games and other stuff expected of a 30 year old guy...

I don't care if his death was two years belated. If someone intentionally yoked him in the head with a beer bottle and wasn't acting in self defense, they deserve whatever they have coming in terms of manslaughter charges, or whatever.

How does jody classify that one? He died outside the city years later. Man this guy makes it tough to get a handle on his numbers. Does that count against Phil Cline? Jody? Arlington Heights? Des Plains?

good luck on getting any charges. i got hit in the head from behind with a glass once while standing in a bar. needed plastic surgery to repair the cut. offender was caught by security in act and handed over to 18th district cops detailed on rush street. went to branch 29 and at trial they found him not guilty of battery and the dumbass ASA couldn't have done a worse job if they had down syndrome.

The prisons are full of people who aren't quite sure what they did, but that doesn't matter.

They've got the next fifty years to sit and wish they'd just stayed at home on the couch with a twelve-pack and passed out in front of the TV that night.

There are lots of heavy steel doors in this world that don't have a handle on your side. Don't get put behind one of them.

Think, kids. Think before you do s__t.

Please.
