Bears by 3

We're just not feeling it. No heart.

They're blowing the games their supposed to win and struggling to finish the mediocre teams that they should win handily.

UPDATE: SIX consecutive possessions that the Bears end up turning over? What the hell?

And to the person asking, the "Bears by 3" headline is the Vegas line, not our prediction.

This is the week that the wheels come off of the Bears bus, and even the die hard fans begin to see it. Expect the season to really go south after this game. The "O" line is still very offensive, and can't protect Cutler. Martz, who appears to be the real coach forgot to tell Cutler to run the ball last week. McNabb is the most overrated guy in the NFL, but he always plays us tough. Redskins win this one 17-13.

Something strange is happening with this game. The Bears appear too smug. Phil thinks the Bears cover easily but wouldn't bet a plugged nickel on this game.

is it just me or do you guys always have the bears winning? we must be watching different teams because the chicago bears should have one win and thats against that turd clausen and his panthers, who are a god-awful team. but i guess you guys have been right 4 out of 6 times. detriot a win, maybe, but even that game is questionable. dallas, only becuase the cowboys are having a horrible season all around, packers, well 18 penalities do not stand a chance.
there was a time when the redskins where an easy win, like every year before this for the past 10, however with mcnabb who eats chicago for breakfast, its doubtful. I like to be optimistic and hope the bears pull it off but im also realistic. if the bears win by 3 or by 1 or by anything, its because someone shot dynamite up the o-lines ass and made them block or mcnabb and company shit their pants and forget fundamentals. this however seems doubtful. its funny when i hear people say the nfl is the "best of the best" from college.... Nope sorry. all in all i know a win is a win, however these "wins" wont mean shit come playoffs... if we make it. however i guess it dosnt matter how we place, its not like we would use next years draft to actually do something productive.

I could see the confusion already on jerry angelos face as i write him a ticket for everything including being am ignorant moron.

The Bears bring to mind a term used for the White Sox in the late 70's... "WINNING UGLY"!

The goal in any sport is to win.

"Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing!"---Vince Lombardi

You can mull about the Bears 4-2 record and moan all you want about what it SHOULD BE, but that doesn't change the FACT that they ARE 4-2!

I'm not saying they haven't been OUTPLAYED in every game, but it's not about outplaying, it's about OUTSCORING, and only the Giants were able to accomplish that convincingly.

Last week the Bears O-line sucked, yet the game was still only decided by a field goal. Now don't get me wrong. No one loves a dominating, blowout performance more than I do, but, plain and simple, they don't count any more than winning ugly.

Bears by 3.

Excuse me but "I could see the confusion already on jerry angelos face as i write him a ticket for everything including being am ignorant moron" happens to be the funniest thing I have read in a while as the ignorant moron bit comes to bite that writer in the ass. Not one single capital letter and misspellings throughout. What a douchebag whoever wrote that. He/she is right about our Bears though, just doesn't articulate it well.

While you were sleeping,
a police squad car was en route to a call of a man with a gun, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. The car had its lights activated and was traveling south on North Laramie Avenue when it began to fish-tail and the officer lost control, Greer said. The squad car collided with a parked car as well as a Dodge Caravan that was traveling north on Laramie, Greer said.

Ugly? This one's got to be the ugliest football game I've seen with penalties and turn over every 2 minutes for both teams. Redskins' DeAngelo Hall single handedly beat the Bears with 4 interception (1 for TD return). This should've been a tied end game with ZERO point.

SCC, There are articles on the web that make the claim that Masters holds the rank of Captain in the USMC. I acknowledge that he (Masters) did not specifically make the claim but the reporter who interviewed him did. Masters did not offer a clarification or correction to the statement, so it would seem that he is fine with it. It should be a slap in the face of everyone who has served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States past and present. This fool, Masters, has indirectly and falsely claimed that he holds the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Nothing could be further from the truth. The following facts are irrefutable:

Pathways to become a commissioned officer in the USMC are, but not limited to, Naval Academy, ROTC, PLC Programs(two 6 week summer or one 10 week summer session at OCS), MECP, which is the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Program. The candidate must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in order to be commissioned.
Once commissioned as a 2nd Lt, one must attend a six month school called TBS-The Basic School. All commissioned officers MUST attend this mandatory school.
Once TBS is completed, newly minted officers attend their MOS school, be it Flight, Supply, Artillery, etc. These schools last from a minimum of two months up to two years depending on which MOS is chosen.
After MOS school, the young officers must join the fleet for the duration of their commitment, which is four or five years, again depending on the commissioning program or their MOS. They either stay in the Corps as regular officers or go into the reserves depending on their contracts. Or they can opt out and drop into the Inactive Ready Reserves for x number of years.
Only recently, within the last 2 ½ years, did the Marine Corps allow candidates to attend OCS, attend TBS and then attend their MOS school all in one summer/fall shot. The new officer is then guaranteed a home duty station and not required to go to the fleet for an extended period of time. They go directly into the Reserves. This program did not exist when Masters claims he graduated from his undergrad school.

Masters’ own timeline in his resume proves that he could not have possibly been an officer in the USMC, let alone an enlisted Marine. If Masters is lying about his service in the United States Marine Corps, what else is he lying about in his resume? SCC I know this is long and I don’t expect you to publish it, but I just wanted to give a bit of info on the type of tools that are at the helm of this once proud Department. I wish he would take off that Marine Corps lapel pin in his photographs and in that stupid video interview which you can find on the web. He doesn’t rate it.

Subject: Drake & Son Funeral Home

This was sent to the 20th District to be placed in the CO book. I thought I would send it out to the Old Timers to see if anyone knew this copper or might want to show up to pay their respects.

Friday, October 22, 2010

To: 20th District

I thought I would contact everyone at the 20th District being you all are so close to our Funeral Home about Retired Police Officer Bruce S. Cummings, who died October 7 at Weiss Memorial Hospital. Apparently a police officer recognized him in the hospital and followed up on him and found that he had died and his body was taken to the Cook County Morgue and was unclaimed because he has no family. Bruce was 62 years of age.

His death was reported to the Police Department and we were contacted by Captian Thomas J, Lemmer, Watch Commander, 3rd Watch 23rd District to ask if we could assist to give Officer Cummings a respectful funeral along with the CPD which we are glad to serve.

There will be a short service here at the Funeral Home, 9:00 Tuesday, October 26, 2010 and he will be buried at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with honors. Fr. Tomas Nangle-Chaplin of the CPD will be conducting the Funeral Service.

I just thought you might like to know about this situation and if possible maybe a few officers from the 20th could come by on Tuesday for a few minutes to pay respects. There is no wake before the funeral. Visiting will be at the time of the service.

Bob Hinkey - Funeral Director

The NFL is beginning to suck.

I'm old enough to remember when they played out the string all the way, even in games that weren't close.

None of this taking a knee and letting the remaining 40 seconds tick off the clock, while all the players gather at midfield to discuss their stock portfolios and Lamborghini purchases.

Butkus would call a timeout with 3 ticks left on the clock, in a game where the Bears were getting blown out, just to get another hit in on somebody.

They should just start attaching flags to everybody and outlaw hitting altogether.

SIX consecutive possessions that the Bears end up turning over?

Now, now, SCC, one must be fair and not make false accusations. Thou shalt not bear false witness, right?

It was only five consecutive possessions that the Bears turned over. Fumble, interception, interception, fumble, interception. On the next possession the Bears went three and out and punted. The sixth Bear turnover came after that.

If one doesn't count Hall's TD runback of an interception as a possession, then there were six consecutive possessions ended by turnovers: four by the Bears, two by the Redskins.

Of thirteen possessions in the second half, none led to an offensive score. One ended in a missed field goal, one at the end of the game, one in an interception return for TD, three in punts, and the other eight in turnovers.

Just A Civilian (who actually watched that horrifically ugly game and is still trying to scrub his eyeballs)
