- In 025 out of 17 vacancies posted, all 17 were filled. The cut off date was 2006. A lot of people with time on the job bid to 025.
That's a lot of movement ahead of J-Fled's "realignment" plan.

In a span of 9 months, three sergeants and two lieutenants retired from 007. Another lieutenant will retire this January.

025 filled all 17 spots-cutoff 2004; 008 filled all 15 spots-cutoff 2002; 011 had 15 openings but i doubt those were filled due to the commander. 701 had 8 openings-cutoff around 1990.
In 025 seniority is going backwards and all of the officers who have 8 years on the job and are on days are sweating it. Also, officers in 3rd watch are getting stressed out too.
In 2007 in order to make it to 3rd watch on bid, you needed 4.5 years. In 2008 it was 5 years. In 2009 it was 5.5 and now in 2010 it takes 7 years to make it on 3rd watch. Next year it will take 8 to 9 years on 3rd watch.
I am glad that we will get seasoned veteran officers. Some of the old timers have to guide some of the young 025 run and gun officers who think you don't need a reason to stop someone.

I'm no fan of AC but he's not the reason people are bidding out of 007. 007 is a shithole plain and simple. 99% of the ppl living there don't like and don't want the police. Anything proactive done in englewood is to get some court $$$; the coppers should care less about these fucking ppl. No OUR Department is in trouble because we have to many English Teachers on the job and not enough police.
And the hits just keep on coming. The brain trust at the ivory tower are now planning on expanding MSF by 100 bodies. The bodies are going to come from TRU. TRU will be disbanded and the rest of the hairgels will be sent to districts. MSF will be the only unit out there and will cover the whole city sending a couple cars to each district that requests them. Guess the north side hasn't gotten their share of MSF, some bithcing by some aldercreatures. Gang enforcement will be downsized to facilitate getting more bodies also. Should be interesting come the New Year.

Training what? Training has the lowest priority. The latest class to graduate was assigned to the window detail for 6 weeks. When they are eventually assigned to districts, they will face a severe shortage of qualified FTO's. The FTO program is in shambles!! Those new recruits will be thrown to the wolves. Staffing and training in districts is not a priority, sad to say.

"It's" is only used as a contraction of "it" and "is." The apostrophe is NOT used when "it" is used in possessive form. The correct spelling should be "its." That is all.

The cancer causing mold build up in the celings, the large amount of incompetent clickish cocky POs, the clouted tact teams, the non-stop bullshit calls and hospital runs, lack of parking and the black cloud of the Indian Burial ground curse that ACTUALLY does exist!
The only positives are: ok bosses, the dicks are upstairs, and if you live NW it's a straight shot to work.
