Illinois Declines

The anti-business policies continue to strangle growth, and therefore representation:
  • Illinois will lose a congressional seat, the U.S. Census Bureau announced on Tuesday; following the 2012 elections, Illinois will send 18 members to the House of Representatives, down from the current 19.

Nationally, the reapportionment favors Republicans: states that vote Republican gained the most seats, which has implications not only for the balance of power in Congress, but in the 2012 presidential campaign, because the the electoral votes are based on the new census counts.

Illinois continues its slow slide into irrelevance. Given a few more years and a looming pension bankruptcy, Illinois will join Michigan in short order as being the only state to lose population in the census. And Michigan, as we all know, is home to what formerly great city? Detroit.

Read the next to last paragraph. Talks of how states spending money that should have been allocated to pensions. Illinois is one of the worst offenders. Infer further and you realize why Chicago pension funds are underfunded. The criminal mayor spending money otherwise allocated for pensions on anything and everything but pensions.

Now we have the criminal mayor spouting off about how Chicago should allow the pension funds to go bankrupt and you see where this is heading. Municipalities are and will be defaulting on it's debt obligations at levels unheard of. This isn't going to end well at all.

If it wasn't for the illegal immigrants in this sanctuary city I'll bet we would of lost more than just one seat this year.

We've been losing ground for the last four decades in regards to representation in the House.

We are about to have a very expensive and dirty REDISTRICTING fight on our hands. Where the Congressional District lines are drawn are going to be argued, drawn, redrawn, erased and blurred loudly and publicly over the next several months. All to be sure that there is enough Black and Hispanic representation in Congress. All at taxpayers expense.

For those of you who advocate cutting the city counsel in half and creating twenty-five SUPERALDERMEN remember this. It isn’t that simple as fifty divided by two equals twenty-five. The fights over boundaries would be fierce and racially charged. To top that off, if it were done, I am sure that the first order of business of the new SUPERALDERMEN would be to vote themselves a 100% pay raise and double their expense accounts. Now try to go talk to one of them when you need something.

Stay safe, does the term gerrymandering ring a bell.

I'm surprised that the outlying areas of the state seem to be losing population faster than up here. If one actually believes in personal freedom, northern Illinois ain't at the top of your list. You know it's bad when people from Ohio and Indiana make fun of you for being from Illinois.

Most people don't even begin to have a clue how brutal Chicago anti-business policies are.

Myself and some buddies launched a successful iphone app a year ago in our spare time. From that, we wound up with enough startup capital to move forward with a full time operation of our own.

Even though we want to stay here, there's NO WAY we can do business in Chicago. Between the bureaucracy and the taxes, we must to go elsewhere. Thanks to the socialist anti-business policies of the Chicago left, you can subtract the following jobs from the tax base.

Myself and three coders, leaving Chicago; all six figure earners. We will probably hired another two junior tech employees, so subtract two more mid five figure jobs from the tax base. We will have a full time receptionist and a part time custodian, so subtract two more entry level jobs from the tax base. Kinda hate to admit this, but between us, we probably spend about $80-$100 a day on lunches and dinners... So, you can pretty much say that our operation alone would have, in aggregate, supported a couple full time employees at various city eateries, so you can subtract those too...

This city hates entrepreneurial people like us, the city even resents it's own police force, yet it embraces every pissbum and crook who crawls out of the fucking sewer.

So, goodbye ChiTroit. A seven figure chunk of your tax base has just flown the coop to greener pastures.

Why can't someone who is just a normal slimebag (not a multi-million dollar slimeball) want to be the mayor, govenor...isn't there someone out there who is unemployed/employed, smart and interested in a very challanging job trying to take control of this stuff?
Or, has Michael Madigan made it very clear what would happen to you and your family??? He is small but very scary--those small guys can be very scary.

Daley Inc. (shortshanks, j-fled & the feeb exempts, local msm, the alderfools, the rev'runs, the clouted grafters and so on...) is the MAIN reason Chicago has become like a dead whore decaying in a back yard catch basin (Illinois)... The odor is VERY noticeable and all of the above have left their DNA in every orifice and were seen by everybody fleeing the scene.

The victim is in no small part responsible for her own demise.

No one wants to bring the perpetrators to justice except The Police.

The citizens just want the stink to go away. If it doesn't then The Police are blamed for the crime itself.

The perpetrators have beguiled the citizens.

The perpetrators have stripped Justice naked before beating and having their way with her then paraded her through the streets in mockery.

Justice though she be blind, weeps in shame.

The Police are searching for her, hoping to find her because she is the only thing left in Chicago that makes sense and has any meaning.

It is a race against the clock... Daley Inc. knows The Police are searching for Justice. Daley Inc. is leaving no stone unturned searching for her as well. They seek to murder her as they've murdered the whore formerly known as Chicago.

The Police say let Chicago rot where she lies... She turned her back and went to her murderers willingly.

Justice? She's very much worth saving...

Only The Police seek to give her back her robe, sword and scale so that she can be returned to her proper place.

Daley Inc. hates us for this and have done all they could to separate us from the good will of the few citizens possessed of intellect, discernment and common sense.

All the others who gloat and shit-talk are the fleas, ticks and ill humours inhabiting the corpse of the dead whore formerly known as Chicago. Of course they're enraged as parasites often are when their meal is interrupted. How ironic that they don't rage at the perpetrators of the crime... They rage at The Police.

Justice needs to be found and restored to honor before she too meets the same fate as the dead whore formerly known as Chicago.

Oh well... At least Daley Inc. made the dead whore formerly known as Chicago wear some pretty, floral print panties and a wreath of flowers and grasses before they turned her head backwards and unceremoniously dumped her in the catch basin when she just had no more coin to give them.

No honor...
No Loyalty...

They've taken all they want and are attempting to walk away, rich and care free beyond measure.

"Blame The Police!" Is what they say when the hard, pointy questions about Chicago's fate come their way...

Justice! Where are you? We're looking for you!

Yes, it rings a bell. But as a taxpayer in my 60's Ive never had to contact my Alderman for anything. So I am willing to take a chance that having less of them will save taxpayer money.

The less theives there are, the easier it is to keep an eye on them. Get rid of 40 Aldermen today.

Rumor has it that all deals made in Springfield and Chicago concerning our pensions are done on the wink wink. These deals were done to put out the fire that was beginning to spread about the real jeapordy our pension is in. There will be a Fed bailout, we will get paid and the pension will history. As the ecomony gets better what will be the draw to become a police officer. The pension is the draw and with no pension the main draw is gone. Everyone who has put on the uniform of a Chicago police officer (except JFED) has been in harms way more than once. And by the grace of God we are able to read the blog with the goal of collecting a comfortable pension someday. God Bless all of our departed brothers and sisters KIA who will never see a pension check....

Someone should figure out, at both the city and state levels, what the pension systems would be like if the politicians had fully funded them over the years like they were supposed to and kept their thievin' mitts out of the funds. We know the historical date on each funds annual investment returns so this shouldn't be too difficult. I'd bet that our pensions would be awash in cash, in spite of the economic downturn. Now the politicians want the workers and retirees to take it up the shorts for their decades long mismanagement and outright thievery. Fuck you, all of you politicians.

When the city files bankruptcy it will be all the contracts, union and others, that can be voided out with the stroke of a pen.

Broken promises across the board and people are not going to be very happy about it as the social contract turns into meaningless worthless paper like a banks toxic mortgage asset.

And the politicians like to blame the pension for the "greedy" police and fire causing the terrible shape Illinois is in. They never talk about the reckless spending and entitlements for the deadbeats of Illinois who choose to do nothing and sit around and wait for the free hands. Illinois is the "why be productive state, when you can get paid to be lazy."

"Illinois Declines"

Yep. Name a category, Illinois continues to decline-because Chicago/Cook County (Daley/Stroger/The Machine) is pulling the entire state down the drain.

Nor do they mention THEIR big pensions or the fact that many of them (Roland Burris for example) are/will be collecting more than one government pension.

People are tired of the corruption, legal extortion, high crime and no concealed carry.

Its too expensive to do business in the city and cook county.

Yes, Illinois is declining, with wealth, power and people going elsewhere, and the blame should go to both parties, but what is not being said is that much of the growth in places like Texas and Arizona is coming from the masses of illegals that are infiltrating our country from the south.
