Get Them While They're Hot

  • A limited number of tickets went on sale to the public this afternoon for Sunday’s NFC championship game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers -- and were either sold or accounted for in less than a minute, a Bears spokesman said.

Tickets are considered accounted for if the buyer has selected the tickets and is entering his or her payment information. Tickets for last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks sold out in less than six minutes.
That was for about 4,100 tickets. The BreakingNews.com report ways there will be another 6,000 tickets on sale Wednesday. After that we heard it's all brokers, contests and friends of friends.

Do you really think that anyone could actually get a fair shake at a ticket?

31 - 10, Packers.

At least watching it at home means that you'll be able to change the channel.

Tuesday there were two "presales" on Ticketmaster, one at 10am and the other at Noon.

Then the sale, sale for the rest of us was at 2 pm.

I'd never heard of a presale, the info on TM says it's available to season ticket holders and Bears "club" members and such. Season ticket holders?? Two presales??

For Pete's sake the little guy can't get a fair shake!!! Just have one g-d damn sale.

Called TM and bitched. Interesting insight I was given was that ALL non-PSL/season ticket holder tickets originate from the Bears organization and they are released to promotors amd season ticket holders and other fan clubs who put them up on the TM site directly themselves. TM doesn't even know when they'll be posted on their site. If, true, weird and pretty shitty for the working stiff.

What do they need promoters for jacking up the price?????

As it stands now, there are 3,051 tickets on NFL Ticketmaster Exchange and probably that many on StubHub.

It's bullshit, $500 for a 400 section ticket in this economy.

Fuck 'em.

About 8 years ago - welcome to Chicago.

The tall building downtown is the Sears Tower, not "the Big Willie." The big flat building on the lakefront is "Colonel McCormick's Fun House Casino-to-be." The short fucker running the city into the ground is either the mayor, the wanna-be-mayor, or depending on the size of the forehead, the Supernintendo.

Somebody around my office is offering a pair of 400-level seats (nosebleed territory) for $750 each.

for the price they are asking for tickets you could buy a new TV and remodel your TV room. Then you can watch in comfort.

Anybody who hasn't sold their tickets for profit by this point is an idiot.

I will never understand why anyone would pay thousands of dollars to see a game.

Took a quick look on stub hub and tickets ranged from the 400's to $4000. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a 50+ inch led flat screen with a sound system, drinks, and catered food. And when it's all over i'll be stuck with a kick ass TV and system! ...must be nice to be able to drop that kind of cabbage.

Tickets pre-sales. Tickets released to promoters.

Is anyone out there soft enough to think that anything in this shithole city is on the legit?

The same thing was done with Cub playoff tickets a few years ago. You could call in and get tickets. You just had to call the right number.

But when the teams want public money for their play palaces, then they call the public right on in.

The SuperBowl will be the same, only more so.

I am surprised that the NFL and the NFLPA even lets them play on that horseshit "turf."

You will get a better view at home.

The Packers don't suck. The Bears don't suck. That's the dilemma. Rarely are both teams good in the same year. I watched both teams last weekend -- great and fantastic games. They really do seem like a fairly close match. I think Rogers is probably a better QB but needs more protection. Trash talk aside, this could be the football equivalent of a pitcher's duel.

If you really want to go to the game, there are ways to get tickets.

#1 is to keep watching brokers like StubHub. After the initial hoopla dies down, the ticket prices become more reasonable. Especially if the weather is predicted to be cold.

#2 is to go to the area around the stadium and make a last minute spot purchase. There will always be someone there with tickets that they are trying to unload. The closer to game time, the better the deals become.
