Nice Going Sun Times

  • CORRECTION

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Ald. Edward M. Burke received campaign donations from a contractor who built homes in Burke’s ward for a reputed drug kingpin. The contractor never made campaign contributions to Ald. Burke. Burke received campaign donations from a constituent and longtime family friend who had the same name as the contractor.

So we'll have to revise our estimate that "any zoning change in the city of Chicago probably involves a payoff, a connected construction firm and a whole lot of winking and nodding" downward from 99.9% of the time to a mere 99.8% since it doesn't appear to be the case here. Boy are we embarrassed.

Scc: Ed Burke backed Chico for mayor. This sounds like Rahm unleashing his media contacts to smear Eddie Burke.

Rahm and his people are vicious little shits. Did Axelrod make a phone call to the Sun Times?

It still doesn't change the fact that the contractor hired a developer who had political ties to Burke. Money still made it to Burke. It just passed through a "buffer". It's the Chicago way after all.

Really Burke taking money! Naw! Not "honest Eddie"! Just business as usual,no wonder he has such a big police security detail, they have to haul all his cash! Now we know why Eddie is pushing for the "dream act"that allows all illegal children to have access to free college, you know the things us the working coppers struggle to give our kids who are citizens. Maybe this way the illegals can contribute more to his already over 8 MILLION dollar campaign fund! No wonder he needs a police detail! Except when a copper needs an MRI then his finance committee denies it!

Second City, you should know better than reprint what the media is stating. They are no good bunch of liars and only tell a quarter of the truth, the rest is fabrication. I, do however, appreciate your acknoledgement of the error, Sun-Times or Tribune would of never done this...
