Oops!

  • Authorities in Kane County seized 60-pounds of marijuana from the trunk of a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Pablo Galeana-Rueda of Washington State and Jose Hernandez-Calderon of California both face several felony charges-- including possession and trafficking.

They were allegedly hauling the high-quality marijuana from the West Coast to the Chicago area. Sheriffs police stopped the men Friday morning when they failed to pay the toll on the off ramp for Route 31 in North Aurora.

Bond was set at $1 million for each of the men.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $1 million.

They lost $1 million in pot over an eighty-cent toll? Something tells us these boys aren't going to make bail, and that's probably a good thing for their continue good health.

06 guys in 003 a couple of years ago stopped a Mexican guy during a seat belt mission. Told them there's a bunch of weed in the trunk. Something like 5,000+ grams. Guy was basically like, "You think that's a lot? You should've saw how much I had earlier." Don't think he ever came back for his court date. Point is, this isn't nothin' for them.

Well, they also failed to signal a lane change-

I wouldn't be surprised if they had an "automatic" weapon in that vehicle...

So maybe any car that makes an unsafe lane change might have an "automatic" weapon inside (along with drugs)?

I'm guessing their car looked suspicious in some way. they're not going to stop someone solely on a skipped toll.

$1 million my ass. $700-900 per lb, maybe $50,000 worth to these guys. Even in the feds you need 100 lbs to get a 5 year mandatory for weed. Unfortunatley for these guys, Kane county may actually be harsher.

Gov. Quinn : "I know they were coming to the great State of Illlinois to support our efforts to bring jobs and prosperity to the many unemployed immigrants here, as well as apply for the generous benefits package we offer, but when will it be likely we can collect that unpaid tollway fare?"

Nobody will die over 60 lbs. of weed, SCC. There's a whole lot more than that out there, and a lot of the so-called 'good stuff' is actually grown HERE, in the good 'ol USA.

I once had to arrest a Mexican guy at a part time security job I had for stealing a shirt. When the
working police arrived, he was found to have
$3,000.00 concealed on him, but he wouldn't use
any of that money to purchase the item he stole
and walk away. What a dumbass. The coppers told
me that the WC in their district sent him to court in the morning, because he refused to post bail!
But the judge put some hooks into him, forcing him
to either post his bail at county or remain housed.
Stupid is as stupid does!

I've spoken with several illegals over the years and learned that for a few hundred dollars, they were allowed to cross. The Border Patrol is a joke! Has been that way for DECADES.

What a shame.

Never have figured out how they figure out the street value of drugs. The street value is what is charged on the street so if you buy a nickel bag the street value should be $5.00 but on the case rport and on the CPD reporting its $20.00 or more
