Underdogs Again

  • The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have met 181 times in the NFL's longest standing rivalry dating back to 1921.

Only once have they played with this much at stake.

Chicago hosts Green Bay in the NFC championship game Sunday in the teams' first playoff meeting since Dec. 14, 1941.

The Bears' 33-14 victory over the Packers at that time put them in the NFL title game, and a win Sunday will accomplish a similar feat. While there's sure to be mention of the rivalry between franchises with a combined 48 Hall of Fame players, the history between Chicago and Green Bay takes a back seat to a Super Bowl berth being on the line.

The Bears thrived as the underdogs this season and the current line has the Pack favored by 4. We expect a very intense game. Good luck Bears.

This only going to hurt the supervisors who sit in the office and watch TV all night.

Using your logic, why even play the games?

If everyone else sucks, that makes the Bears the best team.

Go Bears!

I want to see the Bears go out and DESTROY the Packers like the '85 Bears vanquished EVERYONE!

But this is not the '85 Bears.

This Bears team fights tooth and nail and while their outstanding defense holds opponents at bay, the offense pokes and prods and looks for that one little crack or chink in the armor that will allow them to score.

Make no mistake. This is not a great Bears team. But if I've learned one thing this year, it's that they have figured out a way to win most of their games.

If they manage to get past this REALLY GOOD Packers team, their rap going into the Super Bowl will be that they were not as good as a number of this years NFL teams, and are 'unworthy' of playing in the championship game.

Despite the fact that they beat the Jets earlier this season, the East coast biased media will make them the underdogs in the big game but THEY WILL beat the Jets to become the SBXLV Champions.

You're Welcome!

Winners want the ball.
Cutler left the field with no discernible injury, but later it was announced that he hurt his knee.
With what was at stake in this game, a winner would have played until he dropped.
Cutler has shown he is a loser..in football and in life.
As much as Rex Grossman sucked, he at least tried. Cutler gave up, you could see it in his attitude.

When Caleb Haney came in the spark was re-lit and the Bears came close to pulling the game out.

Retire Cutler, you suck.

Cutler has never lived up to the hype and he sure as hell was not worth the First Round pick given up for him.

Not impressed by "The Freezer" clowning, taunting, holding the ball out with one hand during his very first career interception -- in this of all games.

"Butterfingers" -- oops -- that could have lost Green Bay the game.

Smartass.

Bears should have skipped over Collins and put Hanie in right there -- I think he could have won it for them. He sure was trying.

OT, Does it ever end?
DETROIT (AP) — A gunman opened fire inside a Detroit police precinct on Sunday, wounding four officers including a commander before he was shot and killed by police, authorities said.

The gunman walked in through the precinct's revolving door around 4:20 p.m. with a pistol grip shotgun and opened fire, Sgt. Todd Eby, who was sitting at his desk in the precinct at the time of the shooting, told the Detroit Free Press. He said officers shot back at the gunman, killing him

What the hell kind of game was this today? Pussy Cutler injures his knee yet he was able to stand on it and even bicycle? He resembled a bloated Elvis. Did he clubbing the night before so he could be on TMZ?

As I've said all year, cutler is the biggest pussy in the NFL. "He doesn't know when the injury happened." Are you shitting me? The biggest game of his career and he doesn't have the balls to hang in there and finish it, but he STANDS on the sidelines with a supposed knee injury, with that stupid look on his face that someone (a fellow player, hopefully) should slap off of him? He's a loser. Dump him. He has no business whatsoever in the NFL.

Cutler certainly does not have the heart of Ben Rothlesberger. Ben took a heavy hit to his leg in the Jet game---dragged his leg back to the huddle and never missed a play the rest of the way. Cutler hardly displayed any limp at all--but let's see what the MRI shows today.

Neither the Packers or Bears played well. Lovie's miscues and Cutler's misfortunes make you forget that Rogers was shaken and threw a shitload of incomplete passes. The Packers were 3 to 4 point favorites and a close game was expected. They scored on an interception. The game could have gone either way. Just know if the Packers play like that in the Super Bowl the Steelers will clean their clocks.
