Inaction = Death Penalty?

Maybe we were wrong about Anita. Maybe not charging murderers, even when there is enough circumstantial evidence to run something by a Grand Jury, because it will sort itself out in the end, putting a de facto death penalty back into play:
  • When Chicago police went to the South Side home of 17-year-old Mokece Brown over the weekend to tell his mother and her fiance that he was found fatally shot, they were startled to hear the shooting could be payback for a murder the youth may have committed last summer.

[...] Brown was a suspect in a shooting in August in which Troy Brown, 15, was killed and a 13-year-old girl was wounded in the 4900 block of West Iowa Street, law enforcement sources said Monday. A few weeks later, an eyewitness identified Mokece Brown — no relation to the 15-year-old — in a police photo array as the gunman, one of the sources said.

[...] However, one of the sources said prosecutors then interviewed the eyewitness and eventually decided not to charge Brown because they felt the witness account wasn't strong enough. He was released without charges.

A Cook County state's attorney's office spokesman confirmed that it rejected charges against Brown "due to insufficient evidence," but he declined to elaborate.
"insufficient evidence." Where have we heard that before...? Oh yeah, the Vanecko case.

Could it be that the State's Attorney is covertly winking at vengeance killings as a way to exact justice for the bereaved? By arresting this person, putting him through the paces, then releasing him back onto the streets, Anita and her people pretty much painted a target on him as much as if they had covered him in gravy and sent him into the wolf exhibit at Lincoln Park Zoo.

We can't say we're unhappy about it - it's kind of poetic in its own way. So who will Anita condemn to death next? We could make a list if it would help.

Anita is a lying bitch... The Cook County State's Attorney's Office will NEVER charge a murder on one eye witness account. It was not insufficient evidence. The witness never waivered and picked the shooter out of a photo array and then out of a line up. FUCK YOU ANITA and your idiot states attorneys. Anita and her band of malcontents should watch The First 48 and learn something. Detectives across the country charge murders we would never think of calling in to the Crook County ASAs office because our ASAs are judge and jury and think they know it all. Not only do detectives charge murders all over the country that would never be charged in Crook County they get CONVICTIONS. So blow me Anita, you affirmative action bitch.

Sun Times; City inspector general looking at homicide involving Daley nephew.

No Authority, anything for a headline.

Gee I wonder who else is going to jump on the bandwagon?

You're not seeing the BIG picture here!

The police investigated/manipulated the Vanecko case (TWICE!). So did the Daley Crime Family's friends in the ASA's office and key pieces of the prosecutors case file went "missing" (oops!). Now, the gold braid pensioned ex-cop, ex-ASA head investigator and soon to be Director of the Illinois State Police, will declare that the previous investigations turned out the way they did because there was no evidence against Vanecko and everything is right with the world.

Having the IG look at it and CLEAR the mayor's kin will just create another layer of cover-up so that when Obama's DOJ is asked to take a look into the case, they can say that the case has ALREADY been thoroughly investigated and their time would better be spent chasing REAL criminals (yeah, right!).

Why don't we just invite all the gang-bangers to Soldier Field, hand them guns at the door and let them have at it?

It is dangerous when someone thinks that we can learn anything from a TV show like the First 48. Next thing you know people will be talking about learning things from the Chicago Code or Mike and Molly.

Alvarez has proven herself to be a turd, so why not have shit for ASA's too!

Idiot hands over an investigation to ISP or whatever "independent" agency will take it. Have some pride in your job, bitch!

We all know it's better to have forensic evidence and confessions over eyewitness statements no matter how many people see it. It blows my mind that you as an ASA would use this as an excuse to avoid doing your job. Just quit lawyering and go work at Wal-Mart, fucksticks!

Always run any homicide case through felony review and document the reason for RWOC. Don't take it on yourself to RWOC because you think they won't charge. Let the ASA carry the water for RWOC. They will still lie and say it's your fault but at least documentation exists for your side of the story and may raise reasonable doubt for a jury.

They need to put up a sign at the Cook County limits that welcomes murderers and sex offenders.

Only in the minds of the CCSAO is a single eyewitness insufficient evidence. Its nothing new. They've been running that game for years. But the blame always falls at the feet of the dicks.

Is everyone aware of the Darren O'Brien memo that basically states that the CCSAO does not care to follow the ILCS regarding registered sex offenders? Yeah, all you sick fucks come to Chicago and violate the Sex Offender Registration Act. They won't charge you.

What a horrible group of jags running that show.

And by the way. All of you democrats that are family members of victims of violent crimes? You know, your son was killed by (Fill in the blank) but the police won't do shit about it? They aren't getting charged because you continue to vote in liberal fucks like Devine and Alvarez.

It's amazing that in this violent fucking city that we can't get a State's Attorney that has the balls to charge the small percentage of criminal jagoffs that make life miserable for the majority of the citizens.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

This kid's family should sue CC and Anita A. The argument being that if they had done their job their poor misunderstood son who was turning his life around would still be alive. And even if he had been found guilty of murder he would have been out in 10 years ( this is CC after all). Hey, maybe this is one way to get the State's Attorney's office to actually do their job.

No Death Penalty = Inaction?

Associated Press
4:40 p.m. CDT, March 29, 2011

CHICAGO— The abolition of Illinois' death penalty means alleged serial killer Paul Runge (run'-ghe) will not be tried for three murders.

Cook County prosecutors on Tuesday dropped the murder charges against Runge. In a statement, prosecutors said the decision to abolish the death penalty caused them to conclude there was no other option but to drop the charges.

The charges involved the 1995 slaying of Stacy Froebel and the 1997 murders of Dorothy Dziubak and Kazimera Paruch, all Chicagoans.

In 2006, Runge was convicted of raping and stabbing to death 35-year-old Yolanda Gutierrez and her daughter, Jessica Muniz.

Runge was taken off Death Row with 14 others when Gov. Pat Quinn earlier this month signed the bill repealing capital punishment.

Runge will now serve a life sentence without possibility of parole.

So, by that 'insufficient evidence' rational; Vanecko would be "safer" in JAIL ?
I hope at the least the wrongful death case is progressing.

OMG!

Why didn't Quinn and Alvarez tell the public of their co-plan to create a more efficient and timely death penalty process that is controlled by the victim's people?

Why did they choose to keep their sense of fair play and justice under wraps?

Who knew they were both only masquerading as ultra-liberal, useless, democRAT pukes?

The surprises keep coming!

These two foolers must be a load of fun at house parties!

Follow your own version of logic goof, since JFled and his gang were turds what does that make you and the CPD?

There are A LOT of ASA's who are just as frustrated as you are and can't wait for the next election.

You will be voting won't you?

Look at it like this if they were competent attorneys they wouldn't be making less than a PO. They'd be making six figures somewhere. States attorneys office has a deal with John Marshall to offer all graduates a job. Since they have no chance of getting a job anywhere else.

No authority, but the result could prove quite interesting, as opposed to the result of another simultaneous and relevant investigation of the same incident performed by another agency. What if all the results do not jive? Hmmm? Pull up a chair and enjoy the show!
