Nice Pinch

Big warehouse. By the railroad tracks. Lots of truck traffic. What could possibly arouse suspicion?
  • Chicago police arrested seven men and seized more than 12,000 pounds of cannabis worth an estimated $33 million in an anti-drug operation Monday, police said today in a news release.

A Chicago Police Narcotics Unit, acting on reports that a drug trafficking organization linked to several street gangs had large distribution and storage centers in the city, began looking at a warehouse in the 1000 block of South Kolmar Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Monday, officers stopped a van leaving the warehouse grounds and found 2,500 pounds of cannabis inside. A subsequent search of the warehouse found 9,800 pounds of cannabis. Seven vehicles, a rifle and handgun were also seized.

We imagine there are a bunch of warehouses and storage centers around the city seeing an inordinate amount of traffic all of the sudden. Especially any connected to the seven arrestees. Nice job by the investigating officers.

$33 mil. would be a good start to setting the cities budget straight. No waiting for casinos to be built..just legalize it and tax it.

PARRY-wink-el said not to arrest anyone for weed... those detained will cite "personal use" for the weed.... ....arrests will result in Fourth Amendment Rights violations

It's too bad that when these officers went to the W/C for approval they were informed that cannabis is now an ANOV. Good pinch though. Now go get a curfew!!!!!!

Waste of police resources. That pot woulda gone out, and all those happily stoed fools wouldn't have had the gumption to so much as shoplift a pack of gum.

Legalize and tax! Legalize, and put cops on violent crime (while enjoying the dividend that comes from no more crime surrounding distribution of the stuff)!

The benefits multiply!

So how do you guys feel about the idea of legalizing drugs, in order to regulate them & tax their sale?

Personally, I'm all for it, I think it not only would generate a ton of additional tax revenue, but would also take away a major financial activity for violent street gangs (legalizing prostitution would, to a degree, as well, though making it easier for law abiding citizens to legally obtain firearms won't stop that black market, just give us citizens a "shot" at defending ourselves).

Thanks for the feedback, and for having the bravery to put on that uniform every day & face down the dregs of society!

come on now, be fair. they're talking about not arresting people for minor possession. this isn't possession, this is trafficking.

Maybe flop should make a deal with city we recover money and like this shit we could sell it and shore up the pension funds. Wait a minute rahmbo you want more tickets written,I will write my ass off all legit make Chicago the safest traffic city in the world give 25% of every ticket written to the pension funds, and fuck it parkers when CPD writes them 25% to pension fund! Tows again 25% pension fund. Arrests if convicted make them pay say $1,000.00 or momma whoever and give 25% to pension funds. When we get a car in a dope buy instead of giving the car to the clout daley boys at ear towing lets set up an auction on our own and give another 25% to pension fund wow rahmbo we could clear up the pension fund disaster in short order!

Well I'm guessing they are overestimating the street value of the substance in question.

In any case how about taking the substance in question down to McCormick Place for a giant weed 4 sale event.

Vanecko Productions can run the parking concession and the money raised can be put into the police pension fund.

Say 20 million or so after the powers that be take their toke.....I mean cut of the profits.

It gets easier to find illegal substances stored in warehouses when all of the legitimate jobs went to indiana and wisconsin. Just look for who is left in the industrial park and you will find the smugglers.
