Rahm's Neighborhood

Some comments are alleging that in the interest of continuing the illusion of "this or that neighborhood is safe" and we aren't really suffering a manpower shortage, officers on the Rahm Detail have been instructed to use the address of 1730 W. Berteau for incidents that actually occur in the area of 4228 N. Hermitage and that this directive may have led to a bit of confusion on the part of responding units.

We aren't sure what the big deal is. Rahm fought a protracted legal battle to claim he lived at 4228 N. Hermitage except for a short stint covering government service. The media showed the house and address literally hundreds of times during the different rulings that went for and against the then-candidate. There was even a bunch of "moving back into 4228 N. Hermitage" coverage on the news a short time ago. We even recall some investigative reporting when it was alleged that 4228 N. Hermitage wasn't even on the tax rolls but rather hidden away in some sort of trust that removed it from the property tax rolls for years even though the owner was probably in a position to pay taxes for his entire block after receiving millions of dollars in "consulting fees" from a certain Illinois utility company. This story was later debunked.

Now it's a big secret where he lives?

"Rahm's Neighborhood". With the exception of being an actual neighbor and reaping the benefits of diligent snow removal come the winter months and skeeter abatement in summer, who really gives a flying fuck?

Does living in "Rahm's Neighborhood" pay your mortgage? The kids' tuitions? Your car note? Maybe put a nice meal on your table? That's right, I didn't think so.

Multiple posts with people thumping their chests because they claim to know the name of the neighborhood 9-and-a-half resides in. Arguments over what street constitutes a change in area/neighborhood. This side of the river is this neighborhood. Such-and-such neighborhood ends at that intersection, ad nauseum.

How about all you geography majors and neighborhood history buffs direct some of that maligned attention to the state of our pension and upcoming contract negotiations? If you spent even 10% of the time focusing on shit that actually effects you (and us), the CPD might actually somewhat resemble an "organization".

You know we're in for trouble when coppers can recite statistics concerning hundreds of pro athletes, celebrities or musicians (or in this case the asshole mayor's home address) off the top of their heads, but don't know fact the first about how our pension or contract is structured.

Too much Generation "Y" on this job. Copious amounts of "Yo MTv Raps!" and X-Box has irreversibly warped the minds of too many people that carry the CPD tin in their wallet or purse.

Well @ least the public is hip to the ineptitude of CPD Management

Rahm will cite this incident on why he should have a close police protection detail for life.

Speedy recovery officer. I know that Jane Byrne would have been sure to visit the injured officer in the hospital and make sure that all was as right as possible.

Rahm on the other hand comes up a little short. (No pun intended)

Emanuel may be many things, most of them not good, but he isn't going to pull a stupid stunt like that.

That kind of stupidity is more up the alley of Luis Guitterez whose big house was assessed as a vacant lot for years.

I had to laugh out loud viewing Rahm's question tour of the community. Folks were asked to offer suggestions for saving money. Of course all the expected ones like getting rid of useless aldercreatures and cutting body guard details were tossed aside by the Almighty Midget. As for taxes Rham DID NOT say he wouldn't raise taxes in the future. You can bet he will. This entire Q & A tour is a total waste but maybe makes him look at least approachable. In Rahm's world as long as he is in total control and on top everything is just fine. I can only hope the unions won't cave in to him. They are probably the only ones who can bring him back down to earth.

My in-laws live half a block from 9.5's house-recently that neighborhood have experienced few home burglaries and other incidents.
About a week ago, while visiting the in-laws, I noticed three fucking MUTTS roaming around the streets. Two of them, were walking checking inside the cars, while the third one on bike was being the look out.

I parked and sit in my car checking them out (Paulina and Berteau)once I verified what they were doing,I called 911 giving description of subjects.

I steeped out of my car and yelled to one of the MUTTS "WTF are you doing here...you don't belong in this neighborhood so get the fuck out" and all sudden they disappeared.

No neighborhood is safe anymore!

Wait till someone from out of town calls 911 to report something and all they can find is a brown "Bishop Rev. Dr. Mr. xxx yyy, JD, Jr. memorial" street sign.

Those don't come up in PCAD at all.

So...Just replace his street sign with a brown memorial one and crime will not exist at all on that block!
See? no need to move crime around the corner.

Ol' 9.5 fingers was looking very Daley-esque on Channel Eleven's "Chicago Tonight."

The train wreck came during the last ten minutes of the show, when Phil Ponce kept pushing His Eminence about Daley's and Burke's police details. The high-definition 1080p steam coming from 9.5 fingers' ears and arse looked very life-like and scary, belching forth like sludge from a ruptured sewer main.

WTTW cut the interview short, as 9.5 fingers kept pointing his good digit at Phil Ponce while babbling about how the media wasn't going to "distract" him from the good works he is trying to get done at the CPS...

...and how some 13-year-old basketball star kilt in 007 also used to play chess (as if that was some amazing un-racist fact)...

...and how an Englewood policeman named Charles backs the Mayo's and McHack's brilliant redeployment of 500 officers (in reality, 50 officers redeployed 10 times before)...

Yikes.

Re: 8/30/2011 @ 11:30: PM

Yes detective, you DID miss something.

The middle finger on Rahmbo's right hand only half exists. A quick Wikipedia search revealed it was amputated when said digit became severely infected after cutting it on a meat slicer "back in the day". So when it comes to fingers, Rahm misses being a "perfect 10" by one-half (you see where "9.5" comes into play now)?

Makes for great difficulty when "flicking people the bird", particularly CPD in relation to our manpower and pension issues.

We'll save the "Tiny Dancer" explanation for the next visiting media troll who can't figure things out for him/herself.

He cut off half of a finger when slicing meats as a teen. Thus, he has just 9.5 fingers.
