See You Later Jagoff (UPDATED)

  • A Cook County judge today sentenced a South Side man to the maximum of 60 years in prison for shooting a Chicago detective in the back during a chase more than four years ago.

Judge Timothy Joyce handed down the sentence for Bobby Selvie, 27, who was convicted by a jury in June of aggravated battery with a firearm and acquitted of attempted murder of a police officer.

Prosecutors said the detective, Patrick Johnson, and his partner were investigating gang activity on the South Side in May 2007 when they tried to stop Selvie and two other men for an interview.

The men ran and the detectives chased them to Selvie's house in the 800 block of West 50th Place, prosecutors said. As Johnson followed one of the men toward the side of the house, Selvie allegedly fired, striking Johnson in the back.

Hopefully this asshole isn't ever going to be out on parole again like he was last time, though in this haven of bleeding-heart liberals, you never know.

NOTE TO THE MEDIA: Once he's convicted, you can drop the "allegedly" from the narrative and stop your liberal knee-jerk narrative that assumes the police are in the wrong every time they shoot an altar boy/honor student/oncologist. This piece of crap comes from a long line of turds.

Good job by the Honorable Judge Joyce. Cook County needs more honorable judges as this Judge. He knows the law and hands it out justly and swiftly. The way it should always be. This Judge is comparable to late great Rusty Rance of the Near west side.

"As Johnson followed one of the men toward the side of the house, Selvie "allegedly" fired, striking Johnson in the back."

Can't the media get anything straight? This asshole was convicted and sentenced not for "allegedly" shooting Johnson, but for "actually" shooting him. There is a big difference.

What is this word they love using..."allegedly"...I do not think it means what they think it means.
I thought once you are convicted this word does not apply.
At any rate...good riddance.

Good for Judge Joyce! Selvie is a real POS, he is where he belongs – caged like the animal that he is. Hopefully he never breaths free air again. Now if the feds can get his brother put away for a lengthy stay society will be that much safer.

OFF TOPIC: The case of Kenneth Green, the piece of shit who shot two CPD Officers on a Search Warrant two years ago, finally goes to trial over the next two days.

PLEASE stop in room 203, (ultra liberal Judge who does not like CPD much) to show support to the Officers involved and hopefully to help influence and deter any chance of a light sentencing.

The solution to this problem, bring
back that funny-looking electric
chair to the basement of Cook
County Jail and put it to use.
It was proof-positive that it's use
did deter crime and repeat offenders.

Don't worry. The Northwestern University Justice Institute will come to his aid. I'm sure they're disappointed that the detective wasn't killed.

Perhaps a young college coed can offer some love to the incarcerated to have him tell how the police abused him after he tried to murder one of them.

Then they'll have a live sex toy demonstration on stage to celebrate how open minded they are. Any parent sending their children to this left wing shit hole should have their heads examined.

Maybe he can be cellies with his cousin, the guy who shot Tank Johnson's "bodyguard" a couple of years ago

What a stellar family.

Glad to hear that a Cook County jury of this jackoff's peers found him guilty.

Can you guys give an update of the PO's condition? Was he permanently hurt? Is he back at work (assuming he can ever return)?

Thanks,

Not a cop

Got to get a guilty first before you sing praises for the judge. How about a little shout out to the ASAs who tried the case? Or do we hate all the ASAs now? Tough case too...

I happened to be in the courtroom yesterday for another case, and the entire visitors gallery on one side of the courtroom was filled with off duty police officers who were there for the verdict.

Well done, officers.

Let him watch the Bears play at SoldierS Field while he's there, too. (Or he can watch Soldier Field from Stateville)

Also, it should be closer to 50 years with 85% senting.

Let the person get convicted first before being concerned about sentencing.

True.

I have to imagine, even in CC, that this is a slam dunk. I remember reading about this one the POS shot two cops as they raided the house from behind a closed door.

You're correct, we should get a guilty and then worry about the sentencing but I think the poster was just asking for support. I plan on taking my lunch in 10 and showing up. Hope others do too. We are all we have.

I was in this Detective's class for receiving the Medal of Honor from the Governor for this incident...humbled me for what I was getting it for in comparison to what the Detective was getting it for. Glad this sh*t bird got what he deserved.
