Wow
- A Chicago man set a trailer on fire and decapitated himself after a domestic dispute in York County on Tuesday morning.
The man's name has not been released to the media, but Sheriff Danny Diggs said the man was 46 years old and "most recently had been living in Chicago."
Shortly after 10 a.m., deputies went to the 100 block of Nathan Place to respond to reports of a domestic dispute. A man involved in the dispute had left the scene before the deputies arrived.
The man refused to get out of the vehicle, and firefighters noted that he had a cable wrapped around his neck with the other end attached to a nearby tree. The man then accelerated the vehicle, pulling him from the driver's seat and decapitating him. The vehicle came to a rest about 150 yards away on Holmes Boulevard.
That is some seriously twisted effort. Pretty much a guaranteed result, though. And a helluva war story for the cops out in Virginia.

Inmate wants out of Tamms; attorney says years of solitary confinement have harmed his mental health
Tamms Correctional Center inmate Anthony Gay won't be eligible for parole until he is 120, unless his lawyer's interpretation of a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling leads to an earlier chance at release.
Gay, 36, was sent to prison in 1994 on a seven-year sentence for assault, but he's now serving 99 years at Tamms, Illinois' only state-operated supermax prison. His prison term was increased because of mandatory consecutive sentences for throwing urine and feces at guards.

Gay's mental state is deteriorating because of his seven-year stint in isolation at the solitary-only Tamms lockup, according to experts on the effects of isolation. Last year, he cut off a part of his genitalia, which a physician identified as "possibly a testicle" and hung it from a string tied to his cell door. He was treated and then sent to a "strip cell" as punishment.

Boy throwing rocks hit by crossbow bolt
SAN DIEGO — A boy was shot in the abdomen by a crossbow bolt Monday after he and another boy were throwing rocks at a passing car in Linda Vista, San Diego police said.
A passenger in a black Toyota RAV4 pulled out a crossbow and fired one bolt before driving away around 2:15 p.m. on Linda Vista Road near Mesa College Drive, said police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The two people in the car were described as Latino males and most likely juveniles. Ages were not released for the boys who had been throwing rocks.
The boy who was shot was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital and suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening, Delimitros said.

Suicides by all means are up! Suicides by coppers are up also! Another reason to please talk to your fellow officers,if you see them changing for the worse get them some help! We have a copper in my district that was talking crazy, told the sgt got him counseling, he was going through a divorce, drank a little to much now he is ok!! It is not being a :snitch" when you get someone especially another copper help!!

Thank God he didn't "lose his head" and do something really bad.
Obviously like the cat of old, who got a part of his tail cut off by a steetcar (you remember those?) and went back to retrive it. Got run over again, decapitating himself.
Moral of the story is the same, No sense losing your head over a little piece of tail!

That almost tops the fired butcher cutting his head off with a band saw out in Niles a while back.

Worse thing I ever got hit with was a half filled gallon of chunky sour milk which splashed up into my mouth. Fucker is lucky I started puking and he made it down the back stairs and out to the alley. Never caught up with that prick.
My partner got cottage cheese the next day with his lunch. I miss that guy.
The guy must have been a real head case.

Anyone's mental state would deteriorate. Crazy makes crazy makes crazier. I am hardly a "bleeding heart," but these supermaxes are expensive -- and complete isolation went out of style over 100 years ago after they found that it made people, well, crazy. Now it has come back in a big way, and so have these problems. Surprised?
I think "counterproductive" is the word I'm looking for. The guy might be perfectly manageable at a Level 7 joint with a little slack, social contact, and some medication, not need a five-man escort every time he leaves the cell.
Overall, I hear the idea is still "rehabilitation," return to society. How do you do that with a law saying that a person with a felony conviction can be refused the rental of an apartment...and then people wonder why they are being forced into nursing homes and other inappropriate settings.
Deport the illegals, reject "globalism" and open up millions of entry-level jobs. We can make our own clothespins and screwdrivers and stuff, and ours won't break, either.
Shoot the incorrigibles -- robbers, murderers, financial speculators, mortgage-bundlers, "flippers," corrupt officials.

There are easier ways to do yourself in, but I have to say this method removes all doubt of the outcome.
When I was towing, that was always a concern when winching a car, that the cable would snap and whip back and take of a limb, or my head.
It's happened on aircraft carriers a bunch of times with the arresting cables.

Watch yourself on Austin south of Grand in general -- some idiot landscaped bus stops along there with loose, throwable rocks. Watch for 'em dipping down to get one while pretending not to be looking at you, like they're scratching their ankle or something.
