Get Well Officers

  • An Illinois State Police officer suffered minor injuries Sunday evening when the car he was driving crashed on the Tri-State Tollway in north suburban Deerfield.

At 3:55 p.m., the officer was driving a marked state police squad car in the northbound lanes of the Tri-State Tollway (I-94) when he was cut off by another vehicle, Illinois State Police District 15 Sgt. Julio Serrano said.

The officer then lost control of his squad car, hit a guardrail and struck a wall on the left shoulder underneath the overpass of the Deerfield Road exit, Serrano said.

  • A Chicago Police Officer suffered minor smoke inhalation responding to a fire on the 2100 block of North Clark Street in the city's Lincoln Park neighorhood at 12:45 a.m. this morning, police said.
Get well soon officers, we need the help.

We do what we do- many wouldn't even think of doing this job.

Best wishes and thanks to those who continue to this line of work.

A little off topic, 1st I hope the officers fully recover, 2nd I stopped to backup a female state trooper last friday near the exit ramp of canal port, she had three or four cars stopped, this was about 1545 hrs,I drove up and asked the young female trooper was everything ok? She frowned at me, didn't say a word, turned her back and ignored me and my partner...how rude to act that way towards fellow officers offering assist! If you are reading this blog, please please learn to respect fellow law enforcement officers young trooper, we just might save your narrow azz!!!!!

Unbelievable! I'm retired ISP and I cannot believe that a trooper working in Chicago would give the cold shoulder to a member of the blue tornado, especially one that is checking on your wellbeing. What the hell is wrong with these young people these days?

Get well, soon, guys. Just not too soon. The bureaucracy doesn't appreciate you just because you hurried to get back to work before you were at 100%, so rest up and heal properly before you come charging back to the street.
