More Rumors

Rumor mill is on fire!
  • O.T. but important. Rumor mill has been blowing wild lately! Of the ones I have heard of I have checked into many of them and those who know or are in the know gave me "the nod" so I know they are true. I can't tell everything because they will know where it came from, so pick them up from here, sift through...

The 024th district will be the next to close and be absorbed into 020.

A new system will be put into place to be on tact. No longer will the commander have a say so in it, it will be based on how many handcuffs you can get onto your duty belt...

McCarthy will look just about dead on this job after his scandal grows into the media. Just when it looks like he is gone he will suggest combining fire and police duties, that's right cross training! The idea is to reduce both fire and police numbers to save money.

The 009th district will have their man power reduced by 10% and the extra bodies will be sent to 015

The new unit rumors are TRUE and there will be a new unit put together by March to train exclusively for G8 NATO, they will be the go to team for any problems.

Hollywood comes to CPD, in the early part of 2012 look for an order authorizing ride alongs for a few Hollywood celebrities. It seems that there is a big CPD movie in development and Speilberg is donating bucks to the city coffers to have stars get realistic experiences, Eric Bana and Zoe Saldana are rumored.

The 019th district will still be in existence in a small way, the Tact teams will still be up and available under the old moniker of "19", this will be done because of the G8 NATO summit, shortly after the department will formally "disband" this unit of 30 by sending them where needed, thus keeping withing the contract.
At least half of this is questionable. The rest?

Spielberg gave 100,000-dollars USC to the Rahm campaing. So that rumor might be true. You also have the city getting 100,000-dollars per episode of the bait car show.

That G8 summit unit will consist of all the officers qualified in riding on segways. It will be very hi tec and mobile unit. It will be based on the anti terrorism unit for olympics in china in 2008. Craziest stuff i have ever seen! Super formations of guys with submachine guns on segways!!! They also had some bad-ass net launchers!!!

OT but important. That nosey motherfucker from hdqrtrs thats always got his ear to the keyhole was actually found with his ear stuck to a keyhole last night at 2300hrs by a building engineer that was changing flourescent lightbulbs to a greener, more ecologically friendly bulb when he discovered that nosey motherfucker had inadverdantly stuck his prying ear against the freshly painted rear door of the asst. supt's. office in an attempt to eavesdrop on a meeting amongst top police brass and city administration. "Apparently he was prone in that position for quite some time because the wet paint had time to dry right onto his ear and face." said the engineer who asked to remain anonymous. "I'm just surprised that a person can be absent from his desk for an entire day and even miss the end with not a single person wondering where he is or where his workload went. That's what really surprising." Fire officials didn't have far to come to assist as they were right down the stairs.

The new unit will be in effect, yes the old tact teams of 013, 019, 021 will be the members. They are going to be cross trained in gas, cut, and intensive ballistic riot response; whatever in the hell that means. It will be called the flying J squad and they will be using the 4300 and 4400 call signs.

I've already said it many times before on this blog. Tinydancer wants to combine the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department into the Chicago Public Safety. He wants to get rid of our pesty unions and perhaps let us have a new one that will toe the Progressive line.
Pensions!!! Don't get me started...enjoy 'em if you got them...funds will run out soon. You can figure the rest out I hope, so get ready and start planning ahead. You can whine all you want but after what the Democrats have done to this country, don't expect much sympathies from the private sector.

It seems the "Let's Fling Shit Against The Wall" game is in full swing.

They can close every station in A/3 along with half of A/5 and send everybody to A/2 & A/4 and the native inhabitants will still be chasing & hitting each other with flaming dog shit on a stick.

The city should install a laugh track at 911 for the good citizens in A/3.

"Bwaaaaahahahahaaaa! You want the Po-WHO? We ain't got no Police to send ya! They're all babysittin' da West & South Sides!"

Policemen can't even be mad at this shit anymore because it's a fucking scream! 9.5 & McMouthbreather have GOT TO BE sweating, running & crying in their sleep!

Hollywood comes to Chicago?

Again with the too young, too pretty, too light in the ass, too perfectly coiffed Hollywood wistful thinking of who/what Chicago Cops are?

In the real world... Chicago Coppers are big, strong, tough as a $2.00 steak and meaner than the bull it came from.

They have crooked fingers, torn up knees/shoulders, bad backs, walk with a limp and have dark circles under eyes that have seen too much and gray hair that has been earned one strand at a time in the graduate School of Hard Fuckin' Ghetto Poleece Knocks.

Chicago Coppers ain't all saint but they aren't all sinner either.

Chicago Coppers can debate great literary works, quote scholars & philosophers and are opinionated about which cabbages to plant and which kings weren't worth a shit.
(Nod to Shakespeare)

If violence is the only language a fool understands, Chicago Coppers speak it fluently.

"It's in your eyes... You Chicago Cops have that mad-eye of murderous intent that civilians just don't get. Combat veterans know that eye..."

Chicago Coppers are generous to a fault and some of the funnest & funniest soldiers in God's Army.

Nobody in Hollywood with hard and hairy enough knuckles, eyes mad enough or back wide enough to do The Chicago Copper justice in any portrayal.

Chicago Code made us giggle...

The movie better have some box chevys gettin' up on the sidewalk real hard.

The 350 yellin', tires smokin' & hollerin' while the tail lights dance madly and get smaller in the dark blue-purple of 3am as the citywide crackles on the radios.

"Let's go Police dese muthafuckahs Podnah! Get 'em! Dere dey go!"

*whoomp-WHAAAAA!(2/1 kickdown) SCREEEEEE! WHAAAAAA-whoomp-WHAAAAA!(2/3 upshift)*

...Can you still hear 'em? The 350's?

Meh... Who are we kidding? The mojo-less federal model Chicago Police is what they wanted.

Meaning the bigger the belt, the more handcuffs you can fit on there? That bodes well for all the 300 pound bowling balls out there and should cut down on the medical time as well, since there will no longer be guys getting injured in foot pursuits. Those will be a thing of the past!

And the CPD and CFD will be cross trained so that they may teach CPS students due to the high crime connected with CPS students.

They can do what they want and they won't be bothered by the police. Since there are less officers up on the north side.

I think another poster said this but, this is pure speculation. I could believe Rahm has asked about the possibility of combining the CPD with CFD. I don't believe we would cross train. I think Rahm would like to combine the upper management and save money. The jobs at the bottom of the ladder are completely different.

Closing 024 does make sense but once again highly speculative. Rahm's peeps live in 024 and special consideration would have to be handed out. Area 3 is beyond slow and the sole reason the crime rate is down in the city (talking about 019, 020, 023, and 024). The ghetto is still up for grabs on most nights.

What I think everybody fails to realize is Rahm is basically giving the members of the CPD what they have cried for since I came on the job 17 years ago. I have heard from day 1 that we have a top heavy department. I don't like Rahm's style but he has proposed eliminating 5 commander spots in less than 1 year and closing 024 would make 6 and hear Vice's days our numbered which would be 7 less bosses. Should the airport spots be eliminated that could mean 9 less Commanders. Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Oh my God- sometimes I read your works here on the blog and think you a bit full of shit mixed with a little salt and bitterness, flavored with a sampling of depression on how the Dept has spun down the porcelain. But, your post here is a decent rendition about most Chicago Cops who have had a little time to learn. I know, some of the new guys are slow learners, but that just means that instead of the normal 5-year turning point, it’s about 8 years. I too remember the 350s, the smoking tires and the thump of the car doors in addition to the thumps that followed, as well as the two gumballs on the Ford LTD with the siren right in the middle of the light bar to be heard by all, and the trunks still alarmed for the shotguns. This is not that Department, but old salts like you and I need to show the young guns how to get it done under the goofs in power today. You hit the mark in your post, Hollywood will never get us right, but then again, neither does most of the public so they buy Hollywood’s and these jagoff politician’s bullshit. Boys and girls, reread Box Chevy’s post and keep in mind that you came to be the police, so be the police. Just be the smart police. A Lt that I respect tells me all the time, do what you do for you not for them (the Dept). Take for real what’s real, and treat the rest like the bullshit it is. He said crime is down because the police are keeping it down, not for McStupid or because of him and his cast of clowns, nor for the tiny goof at City Hall, but simply because coppers are laying down in their morale slump. Coppers self-generating RD numbers creates and reports actual crime. Getting the pistol creates a crime, same with dope. On view UUW without a head should be reported as a violent crime. You see dummy with a pistol but don’t catch him today, we need to do a report naming the offender as unknown. That reports a crime… and stops falsifying or really underreporting crime. Beat these assholes at their own game. Take the time and do the reports. Even when the ghetto dwellers want a report for their simple assault, do it, it takes us what, 5-7 minutes and IT REPORTS A CRIME. Report your on-view activity, don’t create bullshit, report actual crime. So much for crime is down huh? Box Chevy- thanks for this one.

Lewis Carroll "Alice in Wonderland" not the Bard of Avon. But fitting never the less: as the Walrus and the Carpenter use nonsense to bullshit the foolish little oysters to voluntarily give themselves up to be eaten.

In today's world the poem can be seen as a metaphor for Politicians and Media vs the gullible public.

The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

""I don't like Rahm's style but he has proposed eliminating 5 commander spots in less than 1 year and closing 024 would make 6 and hear Vice's days our numbered which would be 7 less bosses. Should the airport spots be eliminated that could mean 9 less Commanders. Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.""

Take a look at our organizational chart....
For example in Patrol, area deputies report to an XO, who then report to the Chief. What, the Chief is too important to talk to 6 people?? And if they have their way with the new XO order, the district commander will be much to important to talk to 3 'watch coordinators', he'll only have to talk to his XO. This seems to me to be adding a layer of 1 on 1 management. XO only reports to DC, XO gives DC's orders to watch coordinators. Who needs the XO?
This to me is the equivalent of giving each PO a SGT of his own...

The only thing that makes any sense is that the commanders will be insulated from any scandals, and can put full blame on their XO, who will then be launched.

Here was the Sup, grinning with a shit eating grin, hugging Phleger, laughing, and DANCING! This guy can do it all, can't he? Dancing at a funeral! I am so embarassed. I mean, you don't have to cry, but he dances at a funeral, with so many heavy people around. No dignity, class, empathy, or brains. It was after the hearse left, but the cameras were there. Many guests were still there. And he dances, in public, at a funeral, in front of clergy, not just Pfleger, but real priests.

FOR SALE: One very useful clue. Would make a wonderful Christmas gift for someone who doesn't have one. Goes well with "Scrambled Eggs"(like on his hat). Very reasonable. Write to SCC for more info.

......that is a OEMC "protocol" dispatch whenever CFD has a call at a CHA building. We dont have to go, as long as your Sgt. comes up on air and codes it 19P. That is what our Sgts have been doing to free up the cars. If the ambulance actually requests our help, of course we go to assist. Maybe if these teams answered radio jobs and actually helped in the districts we wouldn't always be in raps. Rather than , "squad send a beat car to my on view, I forgot how to do reports. there, if you've got the bucks to buy into it.

This job is a black hole. Those of you who are young enough should take advantage of the tuition reimbursement and consider another line of work.

St. Xavier has undergrad and MBA classes at the academy in the eves year-round. I will be done with my MBA next summer. Two years from the day of my last class I will be moving out of this city, county and state.

We're not going to get raises or benefits. My MBA was $32K worth of benefits. Do it with an eye on the future. I can't even imagine what this job will be like 2 years from now, let alone 5, or 10, or fifteen. Get out while you can.

Just sayin'.

You are in for a surprise. First of all, in this job market, you will be lucky to even find a job. Also, you are going to realize that your MBA does not carry much weight. The name of the school really does make a difference. And even if you do find a job it is going to pay far less than what you are making now—it will, also, have fewer benefits. Additionally, you will be working longer hours. Some schools make it way too easy to get a degree because they are just interested in the tuition money. But good luck with your plans.

"...this falls totally on the Daley dynasty and the 50 Alderman. They cow towed to the criminals for the votes and they stole everything they could put their hands on. There corruption turned this once great city into a filthy gettho."

Absolutely correct.

Once Tricky Dick realized, or more likely, was told by his handlers, that there was nothing left for him to steal and it's time for him to go, he retired.

The city's lousy condition is Richard M. Daley's legacy.

See you at HQ in about 5 years when you are begging to get back on. Seen in numerous times.

An MBA and $1 might get you on the bus.

024 opened on 01 March 1979. It's not being closed. It has about a quarter of Alderman O'Connor's ward (40th) in it and Ald. O'Connor is probably the heaviest alderman in the City right now. He doesn't want it closed ... so it won't close. End of case.

It's closing, so will 014, Rham's will be done...

It isn't exactly an MBA from University of Chicago.

Exactly....

You're right, don't need 024 and 020 the slowest district in the city, but newer than 024. Makes sense to close it.
Oh but the alderman is so powerful, hahaha

that is a OEMC "protocol" dispatch whenever CFD has a call at a CHA building.

11/28/2011 10:21:00 PM

Wrong. It is a CFD dispatch protocol. OEMC only follows the protocols designed and mandated by CFD and CPD.

That would br WAY to big.

025?

025 is a massive SHITHOLE by itself.

Hmmm. That's funny, because I already work as a consultant for several small businesses, and plan to start my own business, specializing in forensic accounting. That, you jag, will get me out of this shithole.

I don't know why everyone on this blog is so negative. I simply offered some advice to make yourself more marketable should this job become so unbearable that you decide you can't take it anymore.

Nice snide comments. Keep putting on that blue uniform for the next 20 years. I'll be on the beach somewhere.

"I don't know why everyone on this blog is so negative."

It's not everyone, so don't let them wear you down. There is a small, but tough contingent of hopeless people on this job that hate it when they perceive that the guy or gal next to them is somehow doing better than they are or getting something that they're not. They also hate it when you do something to improve yourself or your situation. I believe that deep down, they want to keep their co-workers trapped here. Misery loves company, you know. People like these are just one more reason to leave this job. Good thing they're in the minority.

You'll be joining me there!

Thanks. I just don't understand the animosity about a helpful comment. Plus, even if an MBA can't get you a job, at least you will expand your knowledge. It opened up a whole new way of thinking about the world for me, and I'm grateful for that.

Thanks. Let me know what beach you'll be on and I'll have my cabana boy bring you a tropical cocktail!
