Never Enough

  • Former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley has joined Coca-Cola Co.'s board of directors effective immediately, the beverage giant announced Thursday.

"Mr. Daley brings significant public policy expertise and experience in creating sustainable growth opportunities for businesses and communities to our company," Coca-Cola Chief Executive Muhtar Kent said in a statement.

As a non-employee board director, Daley's compensation will amount to $175,000 a year, with $50,000 in cash and $125,000 in deferred stock units.
And we actually used to like Coke.

Payback. Look at the money trail. What did Dick do for Coke in the past that they owe him a big payoff now?

Or, conversely, what does Coke get for ah, 'investing' in Dick?

That's where the answer is.

Speaking of Coke ..have you noticed that the price of a 12 pack of cans that use to regularly go on sale for three bucks suddenly cost $4.50 at best.

Oh but the prices on the cases of pop haven't gone up my friends just told me. Why I just was shopping the other day and the cases are about the same price..you need to buy bulk.

Ha..only problem is look at the cases closely. It's no longer 24 cans in a case it's a 20 pack. You're paying the same or a little more for 4 less cans.

Just last week a pound of coffee went from being $6.5/lb to $8/lb and if you decided to switch to instant coffee because the price on it didn't seem to increase..well just compare the size of that jar to the last one you bought.

They're sneaking in the hyperinflation. Many cases the prices for a package of something seems about the same but there's less in them.

I went by the meat counter for some ground Italian sausage. They use to be prepackaged in 16/oz packages -- now it's 12/oz

The corporate/political greed is out of control.

The soft drink bottling and beverage companies will probably do anything to kiss the asses of the socialist tyrants in Washington right now because they have been making noise about taxing the hell out of them – on the pretext that the drinks make people fat. Sitting at home collecting welfare checks also makes people fat but no one wants to touch that topic do they.

They’re blackmailing them for contributions and favors like this. Coke is only doing what they need to do in order to survive.

Oh NO my friend. It's not OVER. In fact just yesterday WGN was at city hall getting the Aldermen, on camera, praising Maggie and vowing a permanent memorial to her.

In the meantime, the Cook County Board (where brother-in-law John Daley sits) also honored Maggie the day before:

Cook County Board Remembers Maggie Daley
December 14, 2011|By Erika Slife | Clout Street
The Cook County Board paid tribute to Maggie Daley on Wednesday, with Commissioner John Daley remembering his late sister-in-law and the impact she had on Chicagoans.

/news/chi-cook-county-board-remembers-maggie-daley-20111214_1_maggie-daley-programs-for-chicago-children-christmas-parties

The Daley Crime Family realizes that many Chicagoans have a soft spot in their hearts for Maggie as opposed to the rest of the clan and are happy to use that to advance their agenda of self-aggrandizing the family name. Most people in the know resist this but the sheep...
Well, what can I say? The sheep are sheep and basically do what they are told.

Took over 9 minutes for them to answer. Hopefully others were calling on the same issue.
They asked my zip code for marketing purposes. Gave them my current one AND the 606-- and stated dickhead was the reason I now live far away from chicago.

Its a toll free call and takes a few minutes. Don't be too rough on the person answering, they are only indians too.

Also How True!

Look what he did to the movie industry in Chicago! New high taxes on everything and small support businesses, jobs and all go out of business or move to Canada, Mexico and Prague. Richie was so outraged on TV when the movie CHICAGO was made in Toronto, but people who work here were thinking, "What did you expect you idiot!".

20 years later, a CANADIAN company, Cinespace buys Ryerson Steel to set up a studio.

They love Richie in Toronto, and I bet you will soon see Coke, (base syrup, bottles, cans etc.) being made in China or Mexico and shipped here on Mexican trucks. Brother Bill Daley will help with that part.

--12/17/2011 11:39:00 AM

A. My first problem here is hyperinflation.

B. I don't "shop for food at Walgreens." I check out the food specials as long as I'm in the store for something else. Occasionally I'll hit a good deal. Very occasionally.

"All my gallons are gallons and I buy meat in the amount I want. IF i want a pound, I will buy a pound not .75lbs."

Not if all the place has is smaller package sizes, you won't. My point (and that of others here) is that that's the increasing problem.

"Learn how to read and your shopping will be easier."

Big icy Diet Pepsi w/Splenda and a huge bowl of potato chips made with Olestra -- the frying oil that you did not digest, but that just passsed right through unchanged, not adding to calorie intake, just to sudden "Excuse me!"s and runs down the hall...

Like drinking inert silicone heat transfer oil...
