Watching the news @ 2150, WGN has a couple of sentences about a police officer being killed, that McStupe is w/the family and will release a statement shortly....then cut to sports guy, "Well, that's hard to follow.....".....but .....blah, blah, blah, like nothing of importance happened, reports sports scores. Joking about sports scores...

Don't be a hero out there. Go home to your families. Pray for this fallen officer and his family. It will be a blip on the news to the rest of the citizenry, and that is all. Breaks my heart.

12/29/2011 09:39:00 PM

That office, like many Chicago Police Officers, work in the ghetto and other places as side jobs because they would like to earn more money to take care of their responsibilities to their families and to save for retirement. The City and the Civic Federation would be humane enough to understand that this officer is an example of the service Chicago Police give to their community both on and off duty. The systemic disdain toward the police officer by our leaders in the community, the clergy and politicians and even our leaders on this job has to be reviewed. The attitudes held by our leaders in regard to police is eroding law and order. An you not see this? And if our pensions were so exorbitant, we may not have lost officer Lewis tonight. My heart goes out to the family of this upstanding officer.

And a hearty "Fuck You!" goes out to any cocksucker that has ever uttered the phrase "the police are overpaid".

Like many of us in this profession, this man worked a second job to be able to provide the little extras his family deserves. And he did so in what is, anatomically-speaking, the asshole of this fucked-up city. And for you newsie types
monitoring this blog, this officer also worked for the CPD in the adjacent police district, also an asshole-infested part of this city.

Channel 9 News at 9 P.M. ...after announcing they had an update on the officer's condition... still broke to commercial. After commercial break, they aired a story about some idiot who had to be rescued from the side of a cliff after he went over the side to save his dog. Remember this, folks. An officer dies a violent death and he's second fiddle to a fucking dog.

Some of you reporters need to be victimized - hard and fast. Until then, hurry up and get back to carrying Rahm's balls and tell us all just how much crime is down.

tragedy like it is a non-event.
No big deal.
Life has become so cheap in Chicago. I do genuinely fear the
media has become silenced by the
mayor, etc., and the rubber stamp
city council.
Senseless, difficult to comfort
his family and friends, but they
need God's help and the CPD support.
to get thru this.

Daley and Rham,

We work side gigs like this for peanuts so we could supplement our incomes because of your decisions for Olympics, selling the sky way, and meters. We have to send our kids to private schools because the schools in this city suck. We hate you!! Shame on you!! This officer died as a direct result of the decisions you have made as Leaders of our City. If I made decisions like this as a Sgt I would have been fired on in jail. I will not put my men or women in harm's way ever to get you numbers. I will ensure their safety and I will never be a company man for this . I will look after my men and any other copper. You can take your yellow slips and shove them in your ass. When my men have to work ghetto jobs cause of taxes and debts you have caused, I guarantee you that my men or any copper will always be taken care of. Who the hell do you pricks think you are? Keep cutting our numbers and OT. I guarantee you that the G8 will be a joke. Don't you ever think your better then us you pieces of corrupt garbage. SCC, I urge you to print this on your front page. It's time for the white shirts to step up and lead these men, the old school way. No raises, benefits taken away, no OT then guess what city hall I guarantee you my men and women will not die for your statistics. Answer the calls and that's it. You want a 9 thousand man police department. You got it. You get what you pay for. Add 2 to 3 hours to my police officer's slip. Case and Arrest Reports done slowly. Try to rush my officers on an arrest. RIP Cliff, you are now in heaven.

Somebody killed a policeman today
And a part of America died...
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he had gone off to war;
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half-mast
To his name they will add a gold star.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young, widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend many long, lonely nights.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today...
Maybe in your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side:
He answered the call . . . of himself he gave his all,
And a part of America died.. (author unknown)

... then they pimp out the witness,

"Darrell Davis, 22, who was in the store with a friend, said the shooter didn't say much and the officer didn't have time to react. “It happened so quickly,” Davis said. The shooter was “light-skinned” and had “gang tattoos on his face,” Davis said.

The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?"

The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint,

Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough,

And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.

But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.

Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.

They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod.

As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well.

Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell."

The 312- Chicago Magazine, May 2011.

Please Mr. Tough Guy from Newark step up and protect the men & women who work for you.

STOP POSTURING AND BACK YOUR PEOPLE.

And if some community activist, minister, reporter asks why your police officers are rousting the bad guys or why are you allowing them to aggressively work the streets, all you have to say is

"Because one of our officers has been killed" then walk away.

Simple, direct, and true. That should shut them up.

Sincere condolences to the officer's family. But what no one has mentioned is this--this officer's death was directly related to the lack of manpower on the street.

Police Officer/Evidence Technician Michael Flisk was assassinated (yes, assassinated) the day after Thanksgiving last year. As in past years, he'd planned to take that day off. Last year he was denied the day off due to the lack of manpower. He tried to take two hours on the end--he was denied due to the lack of manpower.

This newly assassinated officer lost his life because of the lack of manpower. If that store owner had to resort to hiring an off-duty police officer to protect his business--and if the animals are so fearless that they walked in and directly assassinated him, and took his star and gun, what does that say?

Yet McDrunk will continue to insist that there are enough police officers on the street. Our homicide rate is far above NY or LA. We lost how many officers last year? And why? Lack of manpower.

Hopefully the family will ban McDrunk and 9.5 from the funeral.

God bless the family and watch over our under-manned dept.

McDrunk and 9.5 will use this as a media op, that is all.

For the officer's dear friends and family, please know our prayers are with you.

"A Policeman was killed last night"

A policeman was killed last night.
He died while protecting your rights.
His creed was to protect and serve.
This fate he didn't deserve.

A mom and dad have lost a son.
So many other jobs he could've done.
His wife and kids are left alone.
Their daddy won't be coming home.

His fellow officers are hurt so deep.
For a fallen brother they weep.
The morning paper will print a story.
About a policeman who died in glory.

The flags will fly at half mast.
Politicians and citizens will seem sad.
The funeral is tomorrow at noon.
It will all be over very soon.

By next week they will have forgot.
That a policeman was killed last night.
