Get that fire capt in the ring with the PO, from the water rescue. That would be an interesting match.

No offense to my firefighter brothers and sisters, but I an thinking about not going this year. I've been to many, and many of the fights are unfair. For example, fire has this one guy who IS a boxer fight a police officer who is NOT a boxer, and his family, or friends or whoever they are, are a real class act. Not. Anyway, if that guy can fight, than why doesn't he fight a real boxer from CPD? Scared to lose? I The CFD coaching staff doesn't play by the rules and it is so obvious. Now I am just a fan mind you. I am about to retire soon so no, I'm not going to get up there and fight. I'm sure I'll go again anyway and support anyone who gets up there. There's not as many police officers that show up as firefighters. It's difficult to go since its in between two shifts. Plus if you had court that day, or the next or whatever. But try to show up to support the fighters who sacrifice so much more than we do.

Very true comment. CPD Dan Linanne fought and was knocked out by this guy, it was pretty bad. They should definetly match opponents by skill level. We don't want any of our fellow brothers getting injured.

The PO from the water rescue is still IOD. He has a cracked vertabrae from the incident and is awaiting possible surgery. The CFD captain still hasn't been charged because he's a Daley hack. How about big tough Captain Altman against PO Pete Kelly?

We need guys like Mike R, Pete K, Pat T and Nick C to fight in these events. The odds would swing more in favor of c.p.d.

you are a clown i was on scene and the fireman barely even touched the officer. For him to be still on IOD that is a joke no wonder why are department is messing with the medical.

First another worthwhile charity event to assist Chicago's First Responders.

Next, a tip o' the hat to SCC for including these type of events (i.e. St. Baldricks etc.) on this site.

Thank You, one and all.

They represent our Department making appearences at police funerals and are helping the GOLD STAR FAMILIES.

Check you local station for tickets and location.

Not put here to avoid the trolls.

You were on scene? What brand of hairgel do you use? Your black leather gloves were a great addition to your hat turned backwards. lmfao

Dan Linnane - I have never fought in the Battle of the Badges. I fought in Supercop and I lost to Art A. The police side of the BOTB (brooks park) does a great job of matching cops with fireman in my opinion. Some of the fights are a little one sided but in the few years I have gone cpd has done just fine. Mike B got in there 2 years ago and lost a very close fight (some say mike was robbed). Then he arranged a rematch for last year to fight the same guy. That guy chose not to show up. CPD fighters expect to fight whoever is put in front of them and I think it shows great heart.CPD has a lot of great boxers who don't want to fight anymore. They accomplished what they wanted to in their lives regarding boxing. But there are still a lot of guys willing to go out there and slug it out. I commend any cop who goes out there in front of that crowd and gets in that ring. Good luck to all the CPD fighters this year.

BTW, that was Tim Kinsella who got knocked the F out by the fireman. the only reason I lost is cause like an idot I cut my hair days before the fight. When God gives you beutiful flowing locks, you don't go cutting them off and angering him. All kidding aside I can't take anything away from my oponent that night,Brian.O'D.(a class act) He was no more experienced in the ring than I was, he was just a better fighgter that night. It's all in good fun and for a good cause guys.-Tim Kinsella
