Global Warming Officially Dead
- The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.
Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.
This is a "reevaluation" of previous data that "proved" global warming a number of years back. Now we're looking at sunspot minimums unseen in decades, perhaps dozens of decades.

It's not global warming people. It's called "change" as in a changing planet. This ball of rock and water we call home is an ever changing, dynamic sphere that is constantly moving through space as well as land masses shifting-plate tectonics. It's bound to cause global changes.
History illustrates epic climate change over time. Ice Ages, droughts, tropical rain forests, masive earth quakes, tsunamis, volcanos that blacked the skies for years, multitude of 'changes' throughout Earth's existance.
Whatever the cause, it's the outcome we should be concerned with. Mass exstinctions usually followed these climate disruptions. Maybe it's time to start over...
All of us will be long gone before this shit sets in.

It's not global warming anymore, it's "Climate Change". The nitwits were hollering about a new ice age when I was in school for the first Earth Day. As I grew older, Global Warming was going to end the world. Now that they can't prove either, it's Climate Change.

Whether you're pro or con on global warming or for that matter ANY study that is published in the main stream media we should all ask ourselves who is funding the study, what do they have to gain and why as it usually has an effect of the outcome of the data.

The "Mini" ice age theory holds some water. Years back I attended a training where an old mariner was explaining how a compass works. For years, "True" north was always a few degrees off center. There has been a shift of this over the last few years (at least since 03). This may explain all the crazy weather we have been experiencing over the last few years. This opens the doors for the media and politicians to create hysteria and keep fear alive. This may be a natural shift that comes full cycle according to the Myan calendar that is set to expire Dec 12 2012. The calendar may expire and just rest the pattern stumbled accross them many yaers ago. Either way, we need to survive G8 first. Then we can explore the theories.

Other than the fact that this, (global warming), is definitely a topic that the liberals believe in and the conservatives don't, I've always found it curious that the author of a Police blog would be so passionate about something so NOT police related. When I was in high school (the early and mid 70s) Time Magazine ran a cover story about the upcoming Ice Age.

The Daily Mail- a UK tabloid. Also the article quotes the actual paper, which notes that this effect will be minimal compared to the ongoing effect of greenhouse gasses.
I am open to data showing current climate change theory to be wrong, or at least less dramatic, but this doesn't appear to justify the "Global Warming is Officially Dead" hyperbole.

Except for the millions of dollars in "carbon credits" some scam artists have conjured up, I don't think you'd hear much about it.
The polar ice caps have been receding for how many years? Long before we were inventing stuff like cars.
Hell I do recall some years ago they were screaming that wihtin a few years we were all going to freeze to death, starve, just a matter of a dozen years.... even had politicians carrying the banner screaming for ssomething to be done.
Now we have the great global warming.... no shit Sherlock, the ice is receding, (other wise we'd be patroling in snow machines)....

Just think how upset Al Gore is going to be: No more flying around the world on his charter jet giving his "Earth In The Balance" lectures for $10M/year.
GLOBAL WARMING is a HOAX to deindustrialize the world and suck all the money out of people by applying "carbon taxes". Do some research and find out for yourself. They already sold most of the people on this shit but there are some - like me, who never believed it.
But, But. I thought Al Gore said the issue of global warming is settled. It is fact.
