Ammo Tax

We predict Indiana and Wisconsin will see a monstrous jump in sales should this take effect, not to mention mail order places that deliver from out-of-state. Typical democrats - "let's tax the law abiding to pay for the assholes breaking the law on a daily basis!"
  • An Illinois lawmaker wants gun owners to shell out extra taxes in order to finance a new grant program for trauma centers, a move firearms advocacy groups say amounts to a "sin tax" on law-abiding hunters and target shooters.

State Rep. Kelly Cassidy, in a bill introduced earlier this month, proposed a 2 percent surtax on ammunition. The proceeds would go toward a "high-crime trauma center grant fund," which would then send the tax money to trauma centers in "high-crime areas."

We'd say that downstate will help kill this bill, seeing as how they actually vote for leaders who listen to their constituents, but who knows what will happen in Illinois?

We will say that ISRA and the NRA get results though. You can join both of these fine organizations by clicking on the links on the right hand side of the blog.

Why in the fuck shouuld we pay an extra tax on our ammunition to help fund urban trauma centers? The assholes who are killing each other off should be taxed for THEIR ammunition. This state has gone completely NUTZZ! Who in the Hell is this Rep. Cassidy? Some numbnutz fuckhead who just wants to get her name in the paper hoping that her constituents will give her another two years to fall asleep in the General Assembly. This asshole has to be a Democrat. I can only hope this bastard, and any other legislator who votes for this garbage bill, is voted out of office. What a complete waste of fucking time!

In a slightly off-topic item.... I saw a new series of ticket books (parkers) that will be issued this week. There are increased fines for some violations, including the city sticker charge. It currently is a $120 fine. The new books have two separate charges. No sticker on a smaller vehicle is going up to $200, and if there is no sticker on larger vehicles (16,000 lbs or up), that one will set up back $500. No parking any time went up from $60 to $75. Can you imagine a $500 parker??? Brutal.

Yeah well what is wrong with that?

All the gun owners essentially pass the hat and pitch in to build trauma centers so that lil' pookie has some place to go to when he gets capped in the head.

If we have more trauma centers maybe the homicide rate will go down and I mean really..."if it just saves one child's life than isn't it worth it.." ?

Oh ...and after the trauma centers are built the cost of the doctors and medical staff can be taken from Medicaid/Medicare funds as the truly needy and elderly services get cut to pay for the savings.

/sarcasm

I have a better idea.

End this farce called the War on Drugs.

Then tax the drugs to build the trauma centers. Put an end to this entire underground economy that is overcrowding the prison systems and enriching that corporate running the privatized operations that are milking the taxpayers for all they are worth.

Tax the alderman and fine them every time someone in their ward gets shot as a penalty for not cresting conditions for a better life and future for the people that they are supposed to be representing.

Tax the mayor. How's $20,000 per homicide and $10,000 per shooting sound to you? Assign some accountability at the top and let's see how many more cameras are seen as the solution to everything.

Isn't it time that we the people tell them to just "sit down and shut up" that you work for us we don't work for you.

This borrowing of money to bailout corporations, giving them tax breaks, using the resulting bills as tools of a crisis in order to demand higher taxes, fines, fees has to stop.

The people are not responsible for Odious Debts that enrich the politico's friends. We can no longer be guilt-ed into this projection that it's the taxpayers that are the ones living beyond their means and thereby are the causes of these crises.

Government governs with the consent of the people and when the peoples interest are no longer being served that consent is liable to be withdrawn.

I think we are getting really close to that point. Look around, all the basic concepts of capitalism, law and order, the US constitution are being broken. It's like a corrupt third world country here.

"High crime trauma centers" in "high crime areas." Isn't that where pieces of shit will be taken after being shot by ammunition that will be taxed?

Maybe this is a way to cut crime brought to you by a shrewd State Rep. Kelly Cassidy.

What a bunch of bullshit! If the state really wants to raise money, how about charging these moron pieces of garbage who get shot for some of their doctor/hospital bills. Deduct it from their welfare/ssi payments.

Fingerprint them in the emergency room as a means of identification. This will not identify all, but the ones who are identified will have a portion of their dole automatically withdrawn from their stipend. And who knows how many warrants will pop up and they can be also arrested.

What a nice dream.

a couple of the bigger dealers do ship to Illinois and they don't collect Illinois sales tax:

Midway http://www.midwayusa.com/

Brownell's http://www.brownells.com/

Both top-notch trusted companies and ship fast, they're located in Missouri so UPS delivers in just a couple days. There's a flat rate Haz-Mat shipping fee, so buy in bulk or combine orders with your friends. They'll need a copy of your FOID on file, so set up an account and email a photocopy of your card before ordering.

Screw these lib politicians, they know full well this is just a harassment tax. This will just result in a negative return as shooters buy outside of Illinois.

Cook Co. Commissioner William Beavers Indicted On Tax Charges

Cook County Commissioner William Beavers was indicted today on federal tax charges for allegedly obstructing the Internal Revenue Service and failing to report all of his income, authorities said today.

Beavers is accused of not reporting as income thousands of dollars that he converted to personal use from his campaign accounts -- including more than $68,000 on one occasion -- as well as from his county discretionary spending account.

Between 2006 and 2008, Beavers paid himself more than $225,000 from three separate campaign accounts and used at least a portion of that money for personal purposes, including gambling, the indictment alleges.

In 2006, he used more than $68,000 from a campaign account to boost his city pension, and between 2006 and 2008 he used his $1,200 monthly county contingency account for personal purposes without reporting any of the funds as income on his federal tax returns, according to the indictment.

Obviously someone who's NOT a Chicago cop because if he was, he'd be fully aware that neither of the two internet retailers he mentioned ship to Chicago.

Remember dude, the majority of us here are Chicago Cops, that's why the blog and all it's postings involved Chicago Police.

That's why we pay attention to who does and does NOT ship ammunition to Chicago, let alone Crook County.

Now, since most of us here ARE Chicago cops, we should all be smart enough to find ammunition distributors who WILL ship to verified LEOs when shipping directly to their district or HQ.

To the guy who says Cabelas ships to Chicago, I'd like to know where you heard THAT one because if you call the 800 number they'll tell you flat out they WON'T ship to Chicago and they won't even ship it to the local Cabelas in Hoffman Estates for you. And local Cabelas don't ship ammunition for the internet presence. So, while there's no need to divulge how you claim they do it for you here, it suffice to say it's safe to call BS on that one.

Anyone who's managed to find an internet retailer who's fully versed in THEIR local firearm laws and could care less about fucktarded pissant little Chicago ordinances that don't apply to police, they're far better off for it.

You have to be aware that posting the names of retailers here is gonna fuck it up, so please kill those posts before we ALL get fucked due to some idiot thinking they're smater than the next guy here.

The old Chicago ordinance specifically prohibited selling or offering to sell ammunition to residents. The new ordinance struck out that portion. Still illegal to sell or transfer WITHIN the city without a "weapons dealers" license, which obviously only applies to inter-city sales. Online sellers don't know things have changed and just don't want to deal with it. It would help to have an official letter/memo from the cpd saying it's legal to mail-order ammo following state laws. Which of course they won't provide. Don't agree? Cite the code!!!

Why would I bullshit about police being able to order from Cabela's? I've done it 3 times already. My last order was 1200 rounds of their 9mm reload ammo and it arrived in the big metal dry storage ammo cases. As I stated before, I only needed to call them and tell them that I was a law enforcement officer. They had me fax over a copy of my CPD identification and FOID card. They keep that info on file so that you don't have to keep faxing it everytime you want to place another order. Once that was done they took my order right over the phone and shipped the ammo via UPS right to my doorstep. So I didn't HEAR it. I actually did it 3 times and have the ammo sitting here in my house. I am a Chicago Cop and Cabela's will ship to law enforcemnt right to their own homes in Chicago. Call them back and talk to someone who knows what they're talking about over there because you obviously talked to an idiot on the other end of the line or failed to tell him you were the Chicago Police.

More tax in Il. just what the state needs. Our politicians are completely out of their minds. When does this madness of taxing every thing stop.? Vote these politicians out. They are incompetent. They have no clue regarding finances so they tax, tax, tax. Enough

Hands Down- without anyone close the 2 best saleman for firearms and ammo has been #1) Barak Obama #2) The Democratic Party

Congrats Illinois! You have ranked #2 behind California as the least favorite state!

2% tax just gives me more reason to "roll my own" ammo! The new tax just gives me an additional reason to go to Indiana to visit my parents. OR have dad mail-order and have it shipped to their home. WHY? cause no mail-order firearms site will ship to either CROOK county or Chicago addresses.

The membership fee to join the NRA or ISRA is very reasonable, $30 to $35 a year. I belong to both. These 2 organizations carry a lot of weight with politicians, and are about the only groups fighting to save our guns rights from the gun grabbers.

All gun owners (not just cops) should be members. If you don't want to join up, you can always send them a few bucks. They will put it to good use fighting people like Rahm and this idiot Cassidy woman.

If we get lazy on this, they will win. They are very patient and will never stop pushing their anti-gun agenda. We have strength in numbers.

Taken from the aimsurplus.com site:
ILLINOIS CUSTOMERS: Must have current copy of FOID card and State Photo Identification, No sales of ammunition and/or magazines to the City of Chicago.

From Able Ammo:
Ammunition Restrictions:
Chicago, IL No Ammo without a FFL
Cook County, IL No Ammo without a FFL

This is additional fuel to the fire for my post-retirement plans to leave Illinois.

"high-crime trauma center grant fund," ????

___________

I have an idea. Lets tax the people who create the high crime areas. And if we can't get tax money from them lets take away their entitlement benefits to pay for their activities. It will be a new experience for them, actually taking some responsibility for their actions.

FYI
The unemployment checks are running out now.....so

Now there a record number of folks filing Social Security Disability claims.... the golden tuna....

It a nationwide problem.... but there votes on the line and nobody has the balls to audit anyone, specially the democrats.

I haven't been unemployed for more that two weeks in the last 40 years.

But, didn't the Messiah BHO and the Democrats pass an EXTENTION to UNEMPLOYEMENT CHECKS bill with the EXTENTION to the PAYROLL TAX CUT.

These were extended until AFTER the 2012 Election. Also after the 2012 Election all kinds of NEW TAXES will swarm Americans to pay for all the Socialist programs like Obamacare. Can't have the American public be confused with the issues and facts.

To the guy that might move to Wisconsin but dosen't want to become a Packer fan-go for it. Once you get up here you will realize that the Packer organization is run the way a team should be run. Where YOU the fan is an integral part of the team. Where YOU can actually buy stock and become a part owner of the team. Where the team is consistently in the running to get to the Super Bowl. They may not make it as what happened this year, but at least they were in contention to go. They will draft quality players especially for the QB role as evidenced by picking up Rogers when they had Favre. None of the buying an aging has been and hoping that he somehow regains his youth like the Bears did with their current QB. The Packers run the team with the goal of going to the Super Bowl, not simply filling the seats in a stadium ala the Bears.

I was a rabid Bears fan when I lived in Chicago. Once you get away from that cesspool you will discover that there is life outside of Chicago and it's actually a pretty damn good life. You will soon also discover that even the sports teams in Chicago are run in a half assed manner as is everything else in Chicago. Don't be a hater. Open your eyes and give yourself and your family a chance.

Stock up! Stock up! Stock up! Another term with obahandoutsmama seems too real. So stock up before its too late. If it seems American to you stock up! Someone is trying to "changeā€œ this gret nation of ours. Join the nra/isra they actually do work for our rights. It seem absurd we should have to lobby for our rights but its so much easier with an organization. God bless America and those sacrificing to preserve it.
