Fake Gun
- Police opened fire on but did not strike a 17-year-old who pointed a fake gun at them in a Northwest Side alley Saturday night. The 17-year-old was later found hiding in the area and faces a number of charges, while another male he was with remained at large Sunday.
About 7:30 p.m. Saturday, officers on patrol in the area saw the two males acting suspiciously in an alley in the 5300 block of North Natoma Avenue, police News Affairs [...] said.
The two fled as officers came to investigate. At one point, the 17-year-old reportedly turned and aimed a weapon — later discovered to be fake — at the officers. [...] the officers feared their safety and fired shots at the young man, but their bullets did not strike him or his companion.

When are they going to send more officers up north? Who cares about 007 and 011 these animals don't pay taxes, are felons and don't care that they live in shit. Today's victim is tomorrows offender. Start policing the few areas around the city at are still decent before we lose them. 016 has 5-6 cars down a night and some of the cars that are up are one man cars.
Obviously, since this kid is a juvenile, his name is withheld (sp?), but does anyone know if he is a local from the area, or was he on a field trip?
This town has gone berserk. If the lad was shot the city would be paying dearly to his family.

At the great risk of sounding like a hand wringer, I hope that you, SCC, did not mean your statement that's it's too bad they didn't kill him. While I agree that they were certainly justified in firing at him, and would have been equally justified if he had been killed that does not change the fact that he presented no real danger and was probably just a fool. Actually killing someone, in my experience even when justified, weighs on you, at if you are a rational person, and have human feelings. Killing someone because hi is stupid and actually presented no danger, might be pretty hard to live with.
Offender was M/6 17 YOA from 2900 blk of Normandy from what I was told. Either was going to buy dope or try to rip off the guy selling a 5327 Natoma. 2 guns, coke, weed recovered there. Two arrests there also, one for the contraband and the girlfriend for a probation violation for Armed Robbery.

We should take a clue from Michigan, they are looking to make it a felony to possess a replica gun, bb gun, etc that is painted all black to make it look real. Ow yeah I forgot we live in the state of IL and even worse Cook County!!!!
The gun was fake but the stupid was quite genuine!
Let someone break into the Mayor's house up north,pull the security detail from his house so we have more man power on the streets right! Let him see how fast they break into his house and how there 's not enough of us on the street!

Yeah, right. Try it where you live. Go and point some kind of gun at the police in an alley at night and see what happens.
Burglaries are running rampant in 016 and nothing can be done about it till more police are hired. Stay aware and stay safe.

You know why cops were allowed to shoot fleeing felons back in the 50s? before Tenn v. Garner? Because a felony WAS a felony, that's why.
ANd guess what ? Justice O'Connor was in the dissent on that case....
