- Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Tuesday that he didn't direct a political consulting firm with close ties to him to organize faith and community groups in support of his education agenda, nor was he aware the company was doing so.
The mayor’s comments followed a Monday Tribune report that Resolute Consulting has given money and organizational help to groups that support Emanuel’s attempts to lengthen the school day, bolster charter schools and close under-performing schools. Resolute is run by Greg Goldner, Emanuel’s 2002 congressional campaign manager who also runs a political fund aligned with Emanuel’s interests.
Asked Tuesday if he knew about Goldner’s involvement or directed him to help pastors with grass-roots work to bolster his schools agenda, Emanuel said “the answer is no.”
So on one hand, we're supposed to believe that Rahm is an evil genius, never letting a crisis go to waste, the brains behind some of Clinton's successes and the driving force behind the rise of Obama.
On the other hand, he has no freaking idea that someone who actually ran one of his political campaigns is spearheading a "grassroots" movement to significantly change the school day and by design, alter the work rules for the teachers union.

Rahm Emanuel Slams Tribune Reporter During Interview
Emanuel said many times the cameras were about safety -- pointing to an IN-HOUSE (emphasis added) study that reportedly showed red-light cameras reduced nearby fatalities by 60 percent -- but others believe revenue was behind the move. According to analysis done by the Expired Meter, the cameras could bring in more than $100 million annually.
Chicago Tribune reporter David Kidwell sat down with the mayor for a 90-minute interview last week, and the newspaper published the transcript over the weekend. As Kidwell pressed Emanuel on why his office would not release requested emails and documents related to the cameras, the mayor became increasingly frustrated:
... Emanuel repeatedly accused the newspaper of downplaying the safety benefits of cameras by ignoring a CITY STUDY (emphasis added) that he said shows red light cameras have reduced nearby fatalities by 60 percent.
"I've had people call you with it, and you refuse to publish it," he said.
"If the report is wrong you should go analyze that report," Emanuel said.
But his press secretary later said the report could not be provided to the newspaper because key portions were "confidential." (Yeah, the portions that refute the validity & veracity of the study, no doubt.)
Emanuel went on to defend his office's handing of Freedom of Information Act requests, saying that if he was unable to work without public scrutiny, nothing would get done.

Is there trouble in Racoon Land? Seems to be. City Treasurer Neeley, and City Clerk Mendoza, have blasted the Racoon for over kill with the new program to take past due fines and fees from Illinois state refund checks. They call the recent tax hikes and fees as "piling on" in these difficult economic times. I would call it just fucking the taxpayers even harder. Only problem ladies is the Racoon could also care less what the fuck you think about anything. You can't shame or insult this low life bastard. Some of our Alderfools are making some noise, but I am sure Racoon Eyes has the votes to do whatever he wants. But isn't this how the game has been played in Chicago for years. We elect these spineless assholes to 4 year terms. They do all their conniving dirty shit the first two years and then play nicey nice for the last two years hoping you will forget how they royally fucked you in the ass for the first two years. Only answer to me is we have to take to the streets. We have to make the G8 event look like a walk in the park.
