Too Close to Home

Opportunistic thieves:
  • Boys and girls be careful out there! Last night a CPD copper who works at in a unit.,on her way home from work, stops at the food for less on 77th and cicero in Burbank. Shops comes out of store 3 animals rob her,she gets 1 round off misses goes to hospital. Burbank calls CPD and the coppers sit on her house, the jagoffs that did this must of seen the coppers there as the contents of the coppers purse were found near her home!
Now the copper that was robbed is ok, she lives in the hood east end of 008, so the bad guys get the purse, and rush to her home to burglarize it. Think about this! You have your family at home this happens, the jags get into your home what could happen. To the trolls no names,or unit,or hospital. Be careful everywhere the animals are getting bolder!
Heads up on this and good job by 008 for covering the bases.

The animals are getting bolder because they have asshole Democrats running this state who won't allow citizens to conceal and carry. Here we have an off duty PO being held up. There is no more fear out on the streets. These criminal fucks know they have little chance of getting caught. Even if they are caught we have so many soft ball judges crying on their greasy shoulders not much will happen to them. Give everyone a right to bear arms. Some fuck tries to rob you do what you gotta do. The off duty PO at least got off one shot. Maybe enough to chase these thugs away.

Great move on Burbank's part, giving CPD a heads-up on the home. And, thank God our guys were actually able to get there pretty quick and thwart what could have been a tragedy.

Glad to hear she's ok. But, that's why I never carry my ID's in my purse/wallet anymore. They're always in my pocket.

Insane ! Gotta keep gun hand free and heads up while toting grocery bags to the car. You could not give me a free house on the side side or ruined south suburbs. Only concealed carry will slow down these mutts. The ski mask symbols on the Clearmap tell the story. Clearmap ? Thats the resource that most Chicago citizens are too dumb to look at. Its the place where you can see crime patterns where you live, and take steps to remain out of harms way.

Glad you were not hurt officer.

I have been telling coppers for years to register their vehicles to a P.O. Box not to their home address. Send as much mail such as cell phone even home phone bills there. Robberies like this are another reason why; but this case will probably be downgraded to an Aggravated Lost Property case.

Also, if you have a GPS unit in your vehicle, make the home starting point a near by but not too near intersection. Don't let the thieves know how to drive to your home with your keys, or maybe your garage door opener.

Know your neighbors, if something like this happens let them know to watch your home immediately.

Stay Safe, look at yourself like a thief would, and do something about it.

A big thanks to Burbank PD. Let's see if this gets anywhere near the effort of McCarthy's daughter lost property.

If you have anyone in Burbank the case report there was well written, even the witnesses state the bad guys were armed and drew a weapon, aimed at the officer. Thankfully the officer is OK, the witnesses were great, but the cameras at food 4 less were less than stellar! To make matters worse the P.O. had a light jacket on,opened and was in FULL UNIFORM! Thank GOD she is ok, this could of turned out bad,3 thugs on 1 and ARMED THUGS! Heard also her credit card was 1st used at a mcdonalds the thugs gotta eat.hope mcdonalds has great security cameras!

Boys and Girls off-duty, getting groceries, please be aware of your surroundings, the animals are out to hunt, due the liberals elected the respect for police has dropped to ZERO! Also beside always having you weapon ready, practice and make sure it is clean and ready with fresh ammo!

What is your with your family, children and are attacked? Could you imagine the scenario, whoever is home expects Mom home at a certain time, hears the keys opening the door and in pops 3 thugs this could of went from bad to DEADLY!! A BIG THANK YOU TO BURBANK P.D. FRO TAKING CARE OF 1 OF OUR OFFICERS,WE ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK ALSO!

Great job and good response by the Burbank coppers. They went out of their way to help our off duty PO, who was justifiably very shaken up.

Glad the officer is ok. Stay alert! Animals are getting closer to our blocks each day. It seems like animals' are getting bolder. I've seen coppers make a t-stop and get yelled at or cursed out. I've seen same coppers not even issue a ticket and walk away (afraid), of the idea of the animal calling for a supervisor. Let's at least give them paper. Do it not for the city but the safety of officers who will stop those same animals in the future.

Train your wife and family in the use of firearms. My wife has been well trained and now has a mentality for killing. Always withdraw firearms from the safe when home. Keep them nearby and never hesitate to use them. We need to train in bit more so more holes can be embetted into these ganbanging cowards.

They will even insanely rush to the house OF SOMEONE WHO JUST SHOT AT THEM.

...or start a gunfight up in a nice part of 016 in broad daylight, following store owners home into their driveways to rob them.

They have lost their fear of man.

These fucking animals. My wife shops there! Oh, well, I wouldn't be surprised if she goes in the closet, unlocks my safe, takes the gun safety lock off my snub and takes it with her to head over to Cicero Ave. I of course would have no prior knowledge that this was occurring and in the event of an encounter where she is forced to defend herself or my children, I will reiterate to the ASA that the only law violation is a misdemeanor at best, and will most likely be determined in court as a nonsense charge and dismissed. She lives, pookie dies, my lawyer gets a few hundred, I get my gun back and I buy her a dozen long-stem roses and a bottle of wine. Remember… we have re affirm positive behavior with benefit and praise. Although, it will probably take two bottles of wine since she has built up a tolerance since she married me.

Funny though FOP sends a newsletter out every month so how many people do you think learn your address...lots and they all know your a police officer. FOP does this our own union. Maybe FOP needs to wake up and send all newsletters via email and stop giving the address list to window builders and insurance companies!!!! They would also save money and could even lower dues...LOL

Leave the purse at home.I grocery shop with my id and debit card/cash stashed in the safest place. MY BRA!!! I learned from my mom at a young age, thats the safest place and it keeps your hands free. If they can manage to get to it with all their limbs intact, they deserve to have it.

SCC, off subject, This needs to be a Headline, Here is where the new Speeding Cams are now located!

Do the Search for Chicago, IL, and it shows. There are currently 22 up and running, of course, most of which are in 016, coincidence? I would think not.

The Sec of State allows full time PO's to register their vehicles to the PD address... has been law for many years.

Remember they were only suppose to be in a few select places.

Right here is the reason why I didn't arrest NORMAL citizens for carrying. You never know when you may need their help. Thank God the PO and her home is OK. If there is going to be any kind of watch set up there, I'm retired with some to offer and I know other retired cops in the area would volunteer a shift. Nobody should live in terror.
