It Wasn't My Fault!

Rahm might be correct - politicians have very little to do with affecting the crime rate. But he sure comes off as a whiner in this article as he throws Shortshanks and J-Fled under the bus, too:
  • Under fire for a 60 percent surge in Chicago homicides, Mayor Rahm Emanuel pointed fingers Thursday without naming names.

The mayor ticked off the steps he has taken, so far without success, to stop the bloodbath. They include: gang audits, a stricter curfew policy, increased spending for after-school programs, shifting 600 police officers from desk jobs to street duty and cracking down on liquor and convenience stores.

Then, he asked a fundamental question.

“You can say, are you doing it right? [But] the question is, why were those policies not done before? Why was it the police department was not organized to have a gang audit to do pro-active efforts to intervene on reprisal shootings that are driving the numbers? We’re doing that,” the mayor said.

“We have a particular problem in the city as it relates to gangs and we were not organized across a waterfront of areas: policing, dealing with liquor stores in communities or our prosecutorial laws in dealing with that gang problem and getting that organized.”

Emanuel never mentioned the name of his predecessor and political mentor, former Mayor Richard M. Daley. Nor did he single out former Police Supt. Jody Weis, who jumped ship to avoid being pushed out by Emanuel.

Gee, we sure didn't do much for the past 20 or 25 years evidently. No ICAM, no CAPS, no SOS, MSF, TRU working the boxes 10 and 15 years ago. No gang maps, gangs North, South and West, no Task Force.

No wonder McNewIdeas thinks he has to reinvent policing from the ground up here.

Lastly, what are you the residents doing to stop this mayhem? Stay safe everyone.

People are going into survival mode now as you cut off the social welfare safety nets on top of it all.

Are you kidding me?

Politicians are responsible for creating the social nightmare know as the Sanctuary city. Their picking and choosing of what laws to follow and which social-economic class they should apply to.

Im sorry you dumb fucking obama boy how in the fuck were we at a 30 low in homicides for over 5 straight years until you took office and hired yet another outsider and disbanded two of the units who did exactly the shit you said we werent. Wake up and smell the shit your shoveling. When a neighborhood flairs up deploy i dont know an extra 80 or 100 officers to be proactive and shut things down a bit. Then move on to the next area. By dumping say 40 officers to three different watches with 3 different start times the assholes commiting most of the crimes arent feeling any presure. Man power sucks but at least the ability to deploy officers at a moments notice helped keep the flood gates partially closed. We need 1000 more officers then hire as many as we loose create 1 citywide unit with 500 officers 300 to work an armed violence suppression mission. 3 companies to be rotated north south and relief. Then the other 2 hundred for admin and special functions ie light truck, dignitary etc. So basically a combo of sos/tru/ msf/ gangs/ housing/ all the old school units that were effective oh you want workers not clout babies and it should be an activity unit not a head a day unit thats what got sos in trouble. O

So for whomever decides to scan the Blog and for whatever rocket scientists keep asking Whats going on with the violence its a real simple theory...Over the last numerous years the Liberals, Politicians, and Media have gotten exactly what they wanted. The DePolicing of Major cities and suburbs is in full effect. You have complained in the past the Police are to not Profile and not Offend anybody...The New Generation of yuppies doesn't want to be held under any of these nasty rules/laws/regulations...how dare the Police stop some citizen based on our mere suspicion that they Might be up to no Good, you know good Old Fashioned ProActive Policing that might have detoured crime and neutralized a possible crime. You now got your wish and our wonderful politicians only care about collecting money and taking care of themselves. You Beef that we talk to Harsh to your gangbanger children and want to complain and sue the big bad police for trying to correct a lost cause of a punk because you failed at parenting....and now its our fault or responsibility....WRONG! The general public forgets that the police are the FIRST and foremost line of defense in the city in which you live in and only want service when you are in need, Sorry that's not how it works and never will. The big decision makers that you voted in, you know, the ones taking all your money through taxes and fines can do absolutely nothing to reverse the damage that they caused from greed and now your police force has all been Detuned. Example: you know when you want a winning team to play hard such as the Bulls/Sox you generate a Positive Morale within the Orginization and treat them well, pay them well and coach them to be winners and they will try to at least produce for positive morale. The opposite happens to Police/Fire and we are demoralized by Rank and politicians: Result...well you know what's going on as I don't want to be sued for looking at you in an intimidating way, after all we get paid for what we might have to do. The Big time sports figures/Heros never get threats to have pensions cut etc.......but we who contribute are always the escape goats. The New hard charger s will get burndt out soon also as they get scorned from the alley reverends and city leaches that take care of the politicians and friends. Oh well folks I am going to go grab some coffee now, wait for the next call and laff at the Circus show that was caused by your Elected. Thanks and be aware of your surroundings this summer, its going to be interesting....LOL!!!!!

Why wasn't his current policies but in place before? Well you idiot because the idea of disbanding a city wide unit that can be sent to problematic areas is absurd and by doing so relates to the increase in violence. That was a huge mistake by this administration, sure some admin people were sent back but there were not that many to send Jfled actually began sending admin people to the streets before he left. The new gang plan has been done before, Rahm make it seem this is his idea, well guess what it's going to blow up in your face. Soon your going to run Out of excuses and it will be clear the true problems are; shortage of police, no citywide unit that can be sent to saturate an area, lack of support by administration, politicians and public to let the police do their job and be the police, and finally you can't stop crime by installing more cameras they just don't work. I sure wish the media would begin to ask Rahm the questions more direct and stop letting him make everyone think public safety is under control because it isn't and wait till this summer it's only going to get worse

The bottom line is the idiot mayor came out from day one and said he was going to screw with the police because the fop endorsed someone else. He went balls out on the media saying how he was going to reduce the man power because there was no money. Therefore also telling the thug gang bangers there will not be police out there and the mayor also doesn't support the police. Equaled an open season for the gang bangers. That has now been proven with 60% increase in murders. The mayor can keep saying that he is implementing new strategies all he wants but its not going to stop the violence. The only thing that will is the mayor has to eat his ego hire more cops and let the police do the job. The mayor does not know anything about how to police. Just because he is the mayor does not make him an expert in policing. But don't expect him to eat his ego. Expect the murders to continue. Blood is on the mayor's hands and that is what is unacceptable.

Do you really feel citizens would have a problem with this in high crime areas? Second, whatever happened to the turn in your gun day for cash, and when that does happen, if a gun is turned in and it relates back to a crime what happens then? Grasping for straws but it seems like assholes and gangbangers have the weapons and somehow keep getting their hands on them no matter what the law says.

He's blaming Daley for all the Police assigned to administrative duty, that's why crime is out of control. REALLY, that's why? Because you can ask ANY officer who has to put the Compstat numbers together, it takes several officers DAYS to complete, now multiply that by each district and unit and see how many wasted man hours that adds up to. A total waste of valuable time where these officer could be policing the streets. Rham, even with those administrative officers under Daley, you cast them into the streets months ago and your crime stats are sky-rocketing and now you're frustrated because you can't spin the numbers. 3 kids under 10 shot, you should be ashamed. $10 million to clean up the river, no $$$ for police. Get your priorities stright!

Wow this story was from Fran. Maybe she will start telling the true story of Officer shortages in Chicago? Or is she affraid of that?

Since weather has nothing to do with crime in Chicago and the reduction of Officers on the street has nothing to do with crime in Chicago.

How or why would you expect any new plan from McNewguy or Tiny dancer to effect the reasons that some criminal would discharge a weapon at a house or some kid playing ball on the street?

Officers on the street know that you have to catch the bad guy. How can you do that if your racing from one job to the next? How do you expect the Detectives to find the bad guy if you move them farther from the crime locations?

Now comes these whining allegations asking why the Department has waited so long to try these new forms of police work!

Someone should put it on a billboard for them to read. Police work has not changed. The politcians change but good police work remains the same no matter what you call it. You can re-name it all you want but GOOD POLICE WORK DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE MAYORS OFFICE. IT IS NOT A SOUND BITE FOR THE MEDIA.

Stay safe out there the 5th floor at 35th street and City hall does not care about you.

The fingered one is a fraud. If he was as good as he thinks he is he would have never said what he said.

He would have outlined the steps he's taken to rectify the situation and added it is going to take some time to see the results of those changes.

Of course, that assumes that the changes made were proper ones.

In Rahms case, the changes were not for the better. On so many levels, he's made changes that have made a bad situation really, really worse.

Everytime, I see the guy raise his finger in that condecending, imperial manner I think, "This guy doesn't no shit and he's so full of himself he's got no clue of knowing what he doesn't know."

This job's going to reveal him for the dud he is.

Ahhhh the blame game. But I thought Raham made all the necessary changes long before the first of the year. The supposed "new bodies" were already on the street long before Jan 1st. One problem is that all the "new bodies" are still being hidden inside through clout. On paper they appear to be on the street, but they are not. Just check out 019 east and 019 west. Lots of insiders. What we need is to hire new coppers and lots of them.

Three Phases of Radical Revolutions:

Phase 1: Infiltration (sound familiar?)
Infiltrate & Organize Groups for Control
Create a Shadow Government
Infiltrate: Government, Labor, Education, Media, Military, Courts, Etc
Weaken: Faith, Youth, Heritage, Community
Confuse Concept of Right vs Wrong
Bring all into state of NEAR CRISIS

Phase 2: Chaos
Allow Chaos
Encourage when possible
Enforce negative stereotypes
Isolate/Destroy/Discourage “Truth”
Encourage reckless habits
Remain in Shadows

Phase 3: Political System X
Grab control to “protect”
“Liquidate” those who oppose or who have been outlived
Activate Shadow System
Remain in crisis mode
Later Beck lays out the 8 steps of radicals to start a revolution and then offers his solution on how to combat it…

The B.H.Obama "I inherited this problem from the last guy" excuse. The era of "I made the decision but it's not my fault" has reached the highest levels. Whatever happened to personal accountability? What happended to sticking by your decisions? What happened to "manning-up" and accepting your mistakes? For once I would love to hear some, any, politition actually get up there and say we made a mistake. All they would have to do is follow it up with what they learned from it and how they are going to try and fix it. We are human. We make mistakes. We make bad decisions. It is when we do not learn from them that we are truly lost. These poles have such huge egos that they can not admit they are wrong. Admit your wrong and move on. Some of the greatest buisnessmen made many mistakes and bad decisions but learned from each one what doesn't work and what not to do. Is not the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? Anyone else get that feeling from these polititions? Stay safe brothers. It's looking to be a wild summer. Keep your heads low and on a swivil.

Had to burst your "elite" bubble, but the truth is the truth. When your units' proactive police work is, in essence, nothing more than revenue generation (yes, Hair Gels, hooking cars for a bag of weed and ANOVS for open alcohol is just that). This does little to nothing in the grand scheme of lowering the important crimes - index crimes.

You bonestrokes as a whole were miserable failures at doing actual police work - the occasional gun found under the seat pursuant to search for impounding it for a blunt does NOT constitute the moniker "Real Police". Get the f**k over yourselves already. It's obvious most of you are cut from the "every kid gets a trophy at the end of the season" generation.

MCJersey thought that the CPD was a troglodyte police force which needed to be brought to the standards of the NYPD. I hope now he realizes that they are both totally different animals. He now knows that we were fighting a great battle with the few resources we have available. MC came over and we lost focus while trying to implement his ill conceived initiatives.
The City needs more police. Rahm and his staff have no problem finding money for all causes which are dear to him and will further enrich the persons who put him in power. Rahm should realize that the escalating murder rate is damaging the image of the city, starving it of funds from potential visitors and hopefully decent residents.
Rahm needs to put his grudge with unions, and specifically the CPD, aside and provide the manpower and ancillary resources needed to fight crime. It should be blatantly apparent to him by now that resources put into the CPD are an investment for the betterment of the city, not just a cost.

There is no reason to live here unless your a welfare sponge. Working class people need to leave this city. The working class gets punished with fines, fees, and taxes. Generations of welfare recipients who have never contributed to this city other than piling on the crime stats continually get rewarded with freebies and the working class has to support their drug and alcohol habits. How many get free food, medical, clothes, etc. How many actually pay for their gas, water bills or propery taxes? Let them have Chicago, move out working class, and see how the politicians hanle their problems and needs without our tax base.

-------------------
Police are and always have been the LAST line of defense and have never really been especially effective at deterring crime on their own.

People have to accept the laws they live under and few do these days. I think part of it is just the sheer number of laws enacted to regulate the average law abiding citizen's behaviour. After a while, you get sick of trying to decide if you can use your cell phone or not, or have to slow down for no real reason, or can't buy beer before noon on Sundays, or any of the plethora of other nonsensical rules the politicians have put into place.

"So for whomever decides to scan the Blog and for whatever rocket scientists keep asking Whats going on with the violence its a real simple theory...

Over the last numerous years the Liberals, Politicians, and Media have gotten exactly what they wanted. The DePolicing of Major cities and suburbs is in full effect.

You have complained in the past the Police are to not Profile and not Offend anybody...

The New Generation of yuppies doesn't want to be held under any of these nasty rules/laws/regulations...

how dare the Police stop some citizen based on our mere suspicion that they Might be up to no Good, you know good Old Fashioned ProActive Policing that might have detoured crime and neutralized a possible crime.

You now got your wish and our wonderful politicians only care about collecting money and taking care of themselves.

You Beef that we talk to Harsh to your gangbanger children and want to complain and sue the big bad police for trying to correct a lost cause of a punk because you failed at parenting....and now its our fault or responsibility....

WRONG!

The general public forgets that the police are the FIRST and foremost line of defense in the city in which you live in and only want service when you are in need,

Sorry that's not how it works and never will.

The opposite happens to Police/Fire and we are demoralized by Rank and politicians:

Result...well you know what's going on as I don't want to be sued for looking at you in an intimidating way, after all we get paid for what we might have to do.

Thanks and be aware of your surroundings this summer, its going to be interesting....LOL!!!!!"

High visibility and manpower deters crime and because of your elected crooks this is failing even more. Go back and keep the coffee warm!

Here's the biggest joke. I was there at Con Stat when Garry talked about the Gang Audit. What they asked for was that Districts send two(2) Tact Officers who knew about the gangs in thier District and then ask them about who was with whabt gang. Hey dickwad we had that, they were called Gang Crime Specialist, and another great idea by Garry was to have responding officers use the radio and tell other units who might be responsible for the shooting and then go look for that gang. Has he ever heard of Flash Messages we have been doing that for ever. But the best part about Con Stat is when Garry comes up with those great idea's he says "Am I wrong, does anyone what to tell me I'm wrong" that's the joke. Everyone in the room knows he so full of bullshit, but on one will say anything. The reason we have young Commanders is that they are willing to take all the bullshit that comes out of his mouth because they know he will not be here long and are hoping that the next person will have some brains.

Not only that, the newspapers and TV stations all had the pictures of the boxes from "GOLAN MOVERS" left in the basement. Further proof that he lived here.

...but remember the other photos -- seriously -- of how he took the lousy light fixtures OUT of the place? He really was going on to a reporter about those light fixtures.

I forget what that was supposed to prove.

"Petty" isn't the word...

To the MSF, TRU officers who got dumped. It sucks that the dept did that but don't think it's because us street cops thought you were useless. That's not the case. All cops lean toward on preferred method of working or another so you guys being the jump out police was cool...don't take offense. You guys just got disbanded because the department couldn't afford to hire more cops and needed all hands on deck. Don't buy into any divisive reasons others might say about your units disbandment. It's manpower pure and simple.

When you point a finger at someone, four more are pointing back at you.

Unless you're Rahm. Then you have less.

Ummm, so sorry Mr Mayor and Mr Superintendent, but "why weren't these done sooner"? Gang audits started before both of these two. We actually did one in 011 back in 2010 with 011 tact, gangs, msf, etc... And stricter curfew? Shortshanks did that in 2009 with the 2100 hrs weekday and 2200 hr weekend. So, go throw yourself under a bus.

Cline started the disaster by promoting nothing but clout hacks and now we are all stuck with them.

================

Cline was not the first super to promote mostly the clouted. It has been going on as long as the CPD has existed.

The politicians see every city dept as a way to exert more control by putting their own people in place, especially in managerial and executive positions.

Do you really think that any mayor is going to hire or promote anyone to any high ranking city post that has not agreed to do exactly as he or she is told? That is ALWAYS part of the deal when you work for a politician.

Cline politicized the CPD more than any Super has in the history of the department!

Everything Cline did revolved around Clout or what you could do to benefit him!

Cline was the King of Clout and CPD Corruption!
