Casualty Counts

  • Three people were killed and five others wounded in shootings across the city Friday night, according to authorities.

Two people were found dead inside a Woodlawn home in the 6500 block of South Kenwood Avenue after police were called to the scene following a report of a man barricading himself inside, Chicago police said. Police are still gathering details about that incident.

Two 17-year-old boys were shot, one fatally, about 2:30 a.m. on Millard Avenue just north of 16th Street in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said. Circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't clear. One victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, and the other was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

Someone said 010 is leading the city in homicides. Congratulations!

Thats what happens when everyone in 010 is afraid of going north of cermak. And please someone explain the coding method to 1023 and 1093, we don't need a ten minute explanation for everything fellas. Better yet, keep them off the air. Those two bone heads tie up the air with nonsense so much they need their own zone. Well hell while I'm at it can we get separate zones for 010 and 011. Impossible to get on the air with 010th district super dupervisors confusing talking on the radio with actually doing police work. It is a nightmare sharing the zone with 010.

If I'm not mistaken the next body to drop puts us over the May 2011 total of 39 homicides.

Like asking what you want for lunch today. 5 dead teens with a side order of 25 shooting victims. Nobody in charge of this city even gives two fucks. All the honchos are basking in their NATO glory. Only the grieving families care. So sad.

maybe this could have been prevented if we had the 1000 pos rahm promised. the question is he a man of his word, or just another pol who will say anything to get elected. never mind some things are obvious, citizens dont need protection.

please don't hold the third watch idiots against the whole district. 1023 is just trying to get his cta check at California and the pink line and not get sued for telling Dan ponce he doesn't have any rights on tv. Also, please don't make me bring up your "problems" because there is a certain sgt AZ or the dub who has gotten officers hurt with his phantom chases and constantly tying up of the air.

umm 2/3 of the homicides in 010 occurred south of cermak rd, so... Where does the argument of not going north of cermak hold any water.

Do we really want to talk about supervisors on the air. 1120 and 1130 need I say more. Two sergeants who love the sound of their voices. Which sergeant can have more air time. Who can cause more problems

what a wonderful city, its like going to the zoo,and all the animals are on the loose. fortunately the cpd is there to put them back in cages. its amazing the way people act when it gets a little hot. what is it about the need to act in a violent way, its not brotherly love. so our job is to keep the citizens from harms way. all this and keep our sanity, while the pols figure out ways to screw us out of our bebefits, so they can give more to the misfits.
