Channel 7 Reveals Plans
- For months, Chicago police have said they would not deploy officers in riot gear to deal with NATO protesters.
In this Intelligence Report: Thursday's demonstrations are providing a better look at precisely how Chicago police are prepared for the possibility of civil disorder.
Several protest venues Thursday were calm on all both sides, and Chicago police certainly appeared to be following through on their pledge not to aggravate protesters by showing up in black turtle suits and riot helmets.
But what happens if demonstrations go violent, if the police in regular uniforms cannot control crowds? The answer was a few blocks away.
Then they reveal staging locations, vehicle descriptions and possible response times to anyone reading. We catch a lot of flack sometimes for stuff we publish, but we aren't posting stuff like Channel 7 is. We delete dozens of things like that every single day. The stuff that does make it through, more often than not, is accompanied by links to the media outlet reporting it. Our "scoops" as it were, are few and far between. Some of them end up big, but there aren't as many as people think there are.

Channel 7 like the rest of the liberal media want a major event here, so they can get the "scoop" and wind up with a Pulitzer prize while we notify families and scrape up the carnage if and when anything goes bad! We had troops ready thanks assholes at channel 7 for allowing this, just hope and pray your families and friends are not jeopardized by your sensational reporting! Safety and surprise first assholes!
I've already boycotted various media outlets due to stuff like this including Channel 7. Very discusting.

The Anti-NATO protestors are assembling here in Chicago for the express purpose of creating civil disorder and disobedience yet the mayor emanuel and police supt. McCarthy are treating them like it's just a peaceful political rally in the park. These two need to pull their heads out of their behinds and stop trying to present a nice image to the foreign dignataries and let the police effectively deal with the lawbreakers and shut them down because those anarchists are for real and they have violence and damage in their eyes.

when and if necessary because that is what they are being paid to do AND DON'T PUT RESTRICTIONS ON THEM FOR THE SAKE OF LOOKING GOOD TO TO THE REST OF THE WORLD. And if an officer is injured, or worse, oh we're sorry, or a nice eulogy at a funeral will not bring the individual back to his or her family. Mayor Rahm, what the hell were you thinking when you decided to do this ?

Wanna know a secret? Any protesters who care about this sort of information will already have it. This ain't their first rodeo.
I'm not in Chicago, but at every single bay area event for the last year that I've been at, I've known where the local agencies were staging, how many officers they were staging, and what gear they were in. I've almost always also been aware within seconds of when they've moved out of their staging area - we usually have eyes on them, either one of us in person, a well-placed webcam, or a local friendly worker (or in a couple cases, a local friendly cop.)
I guarantee anyone whose in Chicago right now who wants this kind of info had it before the news reported it.
Guess who gave that info to Ch 7? Anybody with a political stake in the game. See Ch 7? We ARE prepared.

Well when you have one of the front line p.o.'s as their security head maybe you can feel like doing whatever you want without recourse.
ABC is terrible.They were bolstering live broadcasts from the scene.
These media leftists are whisked away from the studio in Limos, cabs and taken to their safe havens on the Gold Coast ,Lincoln Park or the distant suburbs.

It's funny when people call the media liberal, when in actuality, they are very capitalistic by only reporting what will generate the most hits/revenue on their websites and newscasts. They are the free market at its best.
As for this specific piece, it is irresponsible, but they are a business that cares about making money first and foremost and officer safety a distant second.
