9 Dead; 28 Wounded

That's 37 shot:
  • The city saw another bloody weekend as nine people — including a teenager — were killed and 28 others were wounded in separate shootings since Friday evening.

But don't worry!

  • Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy on Saturday defended the department’s anti-violence strategy, which he believes is taking root.

“We’re not winning, we’re not losing. We’re basically treading water,” McCarthy said. He said that in the month of August, “we had some trouble because some of these retaliatory shootings are happening quicker than we can stop them.”

There's that "treading" word again. We don't think that word means what he thinks it does. "Treading" means staying in one place, holding one's own. Fifteen murders over last August isn't treading - that's losing ground.

Nine dead, dozens wounded!

Bring the family to Chicago and enjoy the city!

Wildings on the Mag Mile? Just part of the entertainment, folks. We'll also clip you for parking, and a couple of red light and speeding cameras for good measure.

Brought to you courtesy of the DemocRATic party, also known as socialists.

Make that 10.

Heard one of the shooting victims of the drive by incident at Ohio and Oakley died. Russian neighbor who made the mistake of going to a birthday party for a C-Note with a target on his back.

Mind you, this is nice block with some expensive new and rehabbed buildings. Joey the Clown lived across the street for years before he went on the lam.

Unfortunately, someone's kid grew up to be a gangbanger and brought the shit home.

...and if you add in Thursday and Friday's afternoon numbers we're well over 60 people shot I do believe.

Also didn't two more die on Monday that were shot over the weekend -- so many it's hard to keep track.

UH-HA! LOW AND BEHOLD!!

But it's mayor Rahm to the rescue with the new Grand Crossing initiative.

We are going to flood that area with officers and saturate it...if it takes moving every spare officer from Englewood and other hot spots to do it...saturate it.

Oh...you mean kinda like a mobile strike force? Move from district to district week by week so you can say well the crime over in this little sixteen block square is down for THIS WEEK. HA. Then what?

Cook county doesn't want your criminals it's driving them bankrupt.

Wave in some more illegal immigrants Rahm. Wave in those drug cartels because they represent the values that you cherish. Values == Money! Values =/= morality in your book.

Go ahead and point to all the arrest. It's like pointing to all those so-called jobs that the mayor says he saved or created.

The guns and the bangers will be back in the streets within days how about pointing to that! Back to the same ol' because that's all they got, that's all they know.

We can't even employ our college grads what the hell we going to do with these people? They gotta make a living and corporations and Chicago businesses want nothing to do with them so these people are in a fight for survival mode. Not trying to justify what they are doing -- it is what it is.

The only hope is to sell dope because the cities best and brightest are unwilling or unable to find a way to leverage this manpower.

Build a $55 million dollar tribute to the Daley's that ought to do it. pffft

McCarthy really has no clue what he's doing. He needs to be replaced.

Beginning with my post #48 on the THEE RANT, an update in which we discuss McCarthy's "treading water" comment and Emanuel's contradictory reaction.

While local Chicago media suppresses the content of this topic, THEE RANT viewers now number over 13,300. The word gets out.

Significantly, at least two of the NYPD posters actually worked with McCarthy in the Bronx before his meteoric rise which began as a captain in "the Rat Squad" (Internal Affairs).

how many guns did g-mac recover--- how much dope did he inventory--- how many search warrants did he complete--- has this guy ever made a pinch in this city--- does he know the difference between people and folks--- does he even know how to complete an arrest report in this shitty--- has he ever had it jammmed up his bum by ipra/iad--- he doesn't know what he is doing or what he is talking about--- how could he, he never worked here and knows shit about what is going on here--- his advisors also are clueless as they are the remnants of the great purge initiated by possum head--- it's like the blind leading the blind, that's why the numbers are up because he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and none of his house mouses know either because they are political hacks just like him....

The Daley's not happy with Rahm re: Chicago's image (no longer the city that works) - hence the $55milion for the park. Some old things still working.
