More Numbers

We posted most of an e-mail yesterday that pointed out that after all the manpower, teams, operations, and resources poured into the Harrison (Fillmore) District, their homicide totals from 2011 (year-to-date) were exactly the same as 2012 (year-to-date) - 29 dead.

Now, a helpful soul has done the same for Englewood:
  • Through 26 August 12, 007 had 30 murders for 2012 versus 41 in 2011 which equates to a 27% decrease, however, 007 also had 185 shootings during this same time frame versus 178 in 2011 for a 4% increase.

In a nut shell, through 26 August 12, 007 has had 5 less people with holes in them than they did in 2011 through 26 August 12.

So, they are pretty much even with last year like 011 even with throwing all the extra manpower into these districts.

We think the math is off slightly, but the number of people with extra holes is 215 (2012) versus 219 (2011). Four less. So Rahm and Garry are touting a 35% "decrease" to what might be bad aim and medical advances.

We would point out that 007 has received at least as much attention as 011 and the end result is an under 1% improvement in the total numbers.

But "Crime is Down!! Crime is Down!!"

Stop calling out the socialists and their lies. They are smarter than everyone else and know how the rest of us should live our lives while they direct. We should be glad that our great leaders are here to guide us.

They can shove all of the numbers at the media they want.

As a det., I can tell you crime is being killed on paper. Burglaries and robberies all of a sudden are trespass and theft.

You know what? If 'murders' or 'shootings' or 'homicides' are allegedly down, then great.

But I can personally attest to the fact that I am NOT treading water. I'm frantically coming up for air after going under again and again.

You can only hold onto the side of the boat for so long until you lose your grip and slide into the water forever.

The ridiculous demands on the people who actually do the real work, from patrolmen, to maybe some sgts., is taking its toll.

There are days I wish I never woke up. It'd be easier just to sleep forever.

To the unpublished Porch-Fuckee:

You tiny brained ass. You don't realize they're moving cops from one hot spot to another with no effort to hold onto the "gains." You can't keep running around, putting out fires when the whole thing catches fire as soon as you leave. Patton called it "paying for the same real estate twice." McDumbass is doing the same thing over and over and over.

We need more cops. Period. If the beats aren't manned and the districts aren't staffed, the same problems crop up over and over. The dope corners don't change, just the assholes standing on them. Location Location Location has always been the thing in dope. Easy security, easy hiding places, in-and-out for your customers - it's geographical.

All these "resources" are just so much hot air, dust particles and mirrors. If you weren't looking up your own asshole, you might realize that. More cops won't matter? Are you that fucking blind to think that message is in anything we type? Asshat.

What about multiple clear ups? The commander of central area even when he was,at area four tells his detectives and their supervisors to ignore the SOP for multiple clear ups. Cases are being cleared exceptially where it is obvious that the suspect did not commit therobbery or burglary just so he looks good at comstat meetings. False police e reports? Some poor detective is going to get burned.

The biggest indication that this shit isn't working is right within the ghetto borders. Coppers are tripping over each other in 007 and 011 and there are still homiecides and shootings happening. In the meantime 001 and 018 are getting their asses handed to them. I'd recommend some sort of mobile reaction force to address this situation. Then again, I doubt McStatsouthisass can get coppers to sign up for fear of being dumped again.

If murders are down that much in Englewood, it means they're WAY up elsewhere.

Spreadin' the wealth.

As pointed out, it is fairly easy to manipulate stats. Back in mid-70s we had to call a sgt. on anything you might determine to require a robbery/burg or other part 1 case only to have it "suggested" that it was really one of the inclusive crimes and so that was the way it should be reported. All the previously referenced crime fighting tactics are like fashions and have been been tried around every decade or so. The problems are exascerbated by a quicker "revolving door" justice system especially with "money saving" resulting with more of the released "boys" hanging out to indoctrinate and embolden more on "hustlin/bangin" with fewer worries as system is overloaded. Then there is an influx of recruits to the "sanctuary" city expanding access and distribution to "product". An arrest with a phone call to immigration used to at least give them a trip out for few months at least even on a disorderly. It was a nice tool in gang control. A brief program of parole officers accompanying gang officers which uncovered certain parole violations resulted in immediate custody and direct transport back "home" which seemed to have more effect/impression on situations especially done in front of "youths" and other members hanging out nearby.

I retired out of your 'bureau' (how much more can they New Yorkify us?) and I was too much like you. As one of my friends said, "You care too much". He's right.

You need to train yourself not to care so much. Learn a new habit, which is not to care quite so much. Put your upbringing and your work ethic a little to the side. It really IS just a job. I speak from personal experience when I tell you to balance out the separate parts of your life: family, fun, education, hobbies and work.

No matter how obligated you feel, no matter how much you believe in what you do, no matter how much you love it, THIS JOB WILL NOT LOVE YOU BACK. Do not make it your life. (And that's how you'll look forward to waking up more mornings.)
