Da Bears

Short turnaround for the Chicago Bears and an early season trip to Green Bay to boot. We hear the fall colors are especially attractive this year.

Looking back at the preseason, one wonders if Lovie was keeping the receiver corps under wraps and then just having them peek out a bit against Indy, all in anticipation of Green Bay in Week Two. Cutler actually has targets to throw at and the passing game opens up the running options.

Bears are still 5.5 point underdogs. Might be a fun night though.

I'm starting Ashlon Jeffery in my FFL, but I regretfully believe Green Bay will cover the number.

Tonight we find out just how good this Bears team will be this year. The Packers AT Lambeau will be a good measuring stick.

Hope Cedric Benson gets shut down as well as that long greasy haired Clay Matthews.

This could be an epic offensive shootout the likes of which we've never seen from these two teams before. It should be fun.

As a transplanted Chicagoan, the Bears have to win... or Friday will be horrid at work.

The last few years, Cutler threw "at" a lot of guys. This year it looks like "to" is the operative word.

To preface, I'm a huge Bears fan, always have been, hopefully always will be.

But.....

We have people talking Super Bowl after we beat the third or second worst team in the NFL. Get over it. They started a rookie QB and he did not look completely bad.

Do you think Aaron Rodgers will be that bad? Hell no, he is going to light up the MOF - Urlacher cannot move. I fear that Finely and this hate me to save it, Benson, will both have HUGE days and the Pack will not only cover, but they will win big.

A Chicago Police Officer hit by a car at 12:30am this morning in hit and run. But no story? "Da Bears"? What the heck, SCC?

One of our cops is hurt, but, for 2nd time in past few weeks, crickets? What happened to coming together as brothers-in-arms as support for the injured Officer? Why is this swept under the carpet now? Never used to be here on this blog.

Fan of SCC

Bears one of the worst teams on prime time. I love the bears but I am taking green bay and they will cover. Rodgers will rip apart the bears secondary.

Or the bears will win and Rodgers will have a bad night. Wow now I sound like an exempt and literally have no idea what I am talking about.

Wait until the Bears face a half-way decent defense, then their offensive line will show their true colors. They are not very good, Crimini (spelling ?) is the best they have, he is very good but the rest suck. A solid offensive line makes average players good, good players great and great players superstars.

.......any word on the cop from 006 that was hit and dragged fifty feet at 79th and Wabash last night? Real bad job by dispatchers getting the info on the car that hit the officer. By the time the real description came out the car was gone in the wind back to Indiana.

Unless they gel later in the season, they may not even make the playoffs.

They need to fire Lovie Smith. He doesn't have a clue what hes doing. Offensive line is a garbage for years and he doesn't replace any of them. You can't be a good team without a good offense offline.

My college roommate and I have had a wager of a case of beer on the sweep of this rivalry. Split nullifies the bet. I'm gonna need "Andy Dufresne" from Shawshank to keep my beer drinking a little better then "obtuse." This rivalry has officially become one sided and devoid of sharpness by a team that's loosing rivalry status. The fake B4 the 1/2 was not quality defensive coaching in The NFL. ND lost to MSU in OT a couple years back in OT w/a similar play called "Little Giants."

Of course you're right, but it wasn't because the Packers played well. They're actually a mediocre team right now. The Bears, however, just stunk last night.

Looks like all the hootin' and woofin' the Bears were doing after they beat the Indy Dolts was a false front. The Bears thought they were going to into Lambeau and eat the Packers. And be on their way to being a SuperBowl team.

Looks like the Bear defense played OK for the first half. But the offense, especially O-line, stunk. 7 sacks for 52 yards?? 4 INT's?? All that big receiving talent? One play where receiver gets open and HE DROPS THE BALL!! IN THE ENDZONE.

Pack didn't exactly rip the place apart, either. But they are a lot closer to being a SuperBowl team than the Bears are. Or likely will be if Urlacher's knee is a continuing issue.

Yup, the Bears look just as they did last year. We have an incompetent QB that completes more passes to the opposing team's players than he does to his own guys...and he still has no heart. Never forget how he was too much of a coward to finish that championship game. The Bears still need a professional QB.

Cutler is just like mccarthy. Talks a big game. But when it comes time for results he fails miserably. Maybe there is an organization that cutler can pay a million dollars to that will stop him from getting sacked all the time.

Bears just plain suck, Big deal, last week the beat the Colts, worse team in football
This week the highly touted offense did crap and although it was the Packers they played most people in this post foprgot to mention that even thogh the Packers win alot of games because of Rodgers offense, the Packers defense sucks. I believe last year they were rated the bottom one ot two defenses in the league and the Bears cant score against them

The bears would look good if they played 2-10 teams each week.... Jay asked the ref's if they would penalize the Packers because they made him cry.... Priceless
