Cop Beaten

  • A South Side police officer had his head smashed against the pavement and briefly lost consciousness after he and his partner tried to stop someone fleeing an area where police were investigating a shots fired call Friday night.

Tony Williams, 43, of the 2700 block of East 77th Street in Chicago, was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and felony resisting arrest.

Police said Williams slammed one officer's face into the ground several times after he and both officers fell to the ground about 7:06 p.m. Friday, with Williams landing on top of the officer whose face he is accused of smashing.
Cop should be ok.

Remember, this is normal behavior in this neighborhood. It's expected even. Any word on a "reverend" sponsored march in support of the Police that are the victims of this behavior day in and day out?

Best wishes and prayers to officer and family. Being beaten in the head matters; they are finding more and more serious long-term results from concussions as they study it more.

Oh -- in regards to the three officers shot and injured in New Jersey (suspect snatched a gun in the station) CBS radio today described it as a "scare."

And gonna get a lot uglier when dudes lawyers retrieve surveillance videos from nearby businesses. Certain officers on scene that have.....shall we say.... loyalty to people other than their coworkers have been running their mouths and indicate they will have to side with Mr Tony Williams when subpoenaed. Anyone on scene or paper better be prepared to lawyer up. This is directly from the mouth of a very good friend that was on scene. I'll leave it at that for now. and just recently when an officer was slammed not once but twice to the ground , the wonderful citizen who was about to turn his life around was shot and killed by the police and a riot erupted and there was news coverage all ove the place. This is not the 1st time but an ever increasing message being sent to not only the police but to the city that these savages have no regard for the police and that it will continue. Unless Mcarthy is gone, unless someone steps in to open their eyes to witness how we are subjected to acts of violence just the same as your ordinary citizen with no regard or respect for the uniform from these animals, the propaganda of open season on the police will continue and only get worse... I'm glad the officer will be ok and that it wasn't worse, but it doesn't need to or should'nt have gotten this far. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE !!

I responded to this call and was wondering if RL is ok. Im CFD and was on E 1XX. I helped take his vest off along with a PO as we were putting him on the backboard. He was pretty dazed but vitals were good.

Before this was call came in we were talking about how difficult of a job it is to be CPD. Most have no clue what you guys deal with. On EVERY level. When things like these happen to you guys it makes us all very upset. Despite what the public thinks or how the media tries to spin it, the vast majority of CPD are VERY professional and NOT abusive towards the public. The naysayers try to make it look like all of CPD is like Abatte. FURTHEST thing from the truth......

Thoughts and prayers to RL and his partner.

Please be careful out there everyone

...it is WEAPON RETENTION TIME.

Stalking suspect dead after overpowering arresting officer, taking gun, wounding 3

Published December 28, 2012

Associated Press

"A man who had been arrested for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend overpowered an officer inside a police station, grabbed her gun and shot her and two other officers before being killed by police early Friday...

"Eddie Jones III, 39, of Willingboro, overpowered Officer Ruth Burns inside the station in Gloucester Township, a Philadelphia suburb, police said. He fired at her and two officers who had been in a nearby room and came rushing to aid their colleague. The two officers fired on Jones, killing him..."

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/28/three-cops-reportedly-shot-inside-new-jersey-police-station/

"All three wounded officers were expected to recover..."

...through the grace of God and whatever moves the officers were able to make in a couple of seconds.

I think we have what the shrinks call a "poor fund of information" going. It is obvious that someone needs to line this out in a few strokes. Here.

My ears are ringing just reading this story. Gun battle in a little room, PANGPANGPANG shattering, echoing off the cinderblock walls, plastic chairs knocked over, cover dangling out of the light fixture, smoke, blood, piss, and shit. Guy dying on the floor, all tangled up with the Venetian blinds.

...and then you look at each other, then at yourself...

Hint to CBS Radio News -- looking down and seeing bullet holes in your body is not a "scare."

What kind of mental never-left-kindergarten construct, what kind of tentative, groping word-world can someone be living in to say this? Not the first time I've heard it, either.

The officer who posted here about "people who cross the street and then look back to see if it was safe" was right on the money. Gunfight busted out on a busy street in "1/3rd the [CompStatted] crime" NYC, and people were just standing there taking smartphone videos like it didn't apply to them.

Makes me nuts. For a minute.

Good morning to all. Go Bears!

From personal experience, these pieces of shit will stop at nothing to get away. There is no fear of the police anymore. Police are severely injured constantly, where they cannot work anymore. Treat everyone as an active assailant. Never become complacent or let your guard down. This bullshit of riding alone on jobs should never happen. Have backup and make sure you trust whoever is backing you up not to run the other way. This city and this department are not the same as 10-20 years ago. Remember the number 1 rule. Go home in the same shape you arrived. Fuck this city and these savages. 75 percent of the population hates the police. Let them fend for themselves. SCC I really hope this comment/ question will be posted.....
The push to infringe on gun ownership rights is in full effect. Time and time again criminals are stopped because of concealed carry laws in other states yet liberal gun hating nuts are going to USE a horrible incident that is extremely rare to keep average citizens from protecting themselves. I can confidently say that Chicago has some if not thee toughest gun laws in the United States yet here we are trying to sugar coat the fact the 500 people have been killed so far in this city this year. I ask you....had Adam Lanza walked into City Hall and taken out 20 aldermen instead of 20 innocent children would this have been seen by people across the US as such a tragedy? The same aldermen who are allowed to carry guns for their own protection and who have trained police officers as their own personal security are the same ones fighting tme and time again to keep the citizens of Chicago from protecting themselves. They want more laws....would another law on the books have prevented any of the 500 from dying? NOPE. The ONLY thing that could have prevented ANY of these deaths is IF THE SENTENCES FOR CONVICTED FELONS WERE FOLLOWED THROUGH AND SEVERAL OF THE REPEAT OFFENDERS WERE STILL BEHIND BARS LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE. Then the laws may have prevented a few of the murders that happened.

I feel it is necessary to conceal carry on my job no matter what the law says. My view is when you go into Indian Country, you damn well better be prepared. Someone WAS there that saw what the in car cameras captured!! Yes, boys and girls, LAWYER UP.

And....

"And gonna get a lot uglier when dudes lawyers retrieve surveillance videos from nearby businesses. Please use your heads when this one grows legs folks, this has potential to rock the CPD foundation a little bit more. Best wishes for a full recovery for the injured officer."

Are you fucking serious? You weren't even there and you want to post your Monday morning quarterbacking bullshit opinion? Go fuck yourself and your "very good friend". Stop speaking of things you know nothing about.

Good job by all that responded, 004, outside units and CFD.

Signed,

YOU will be subpoenaed also, Mr. "Someone that was actually there".

Yes, the wannabe punter needs to come clean quickly. Although its much too late for all those who "got their story straight before putting pen paper". First poster was 100% on target.

News tonight -- I recall that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took a fall not too long ago, had a concussion. Tonight she is in NY hospital having a sudden blood clot removed, must have been very dangerous. Consequences can come like this many days later...

You don't have to let anyone bang your head on the cement. It SHOULD go without saying that that is crazy.

That's right. WBBM radio just put this out.

They're afraid that any data gathered will be used to deport them.

I'm serious.

They are right, it will be used to deport them. And their children will be sold into forced labor, their wives will be forced into prostitution and the old folks will be ground into fertilizer. Their pets will be sold to Chinese restaurants and their belongings will go on eBay. So for God sake, do NOT get that driver license, it is a trap!

Does your dumb fuck buddy think that just telling the truth when subpoenaed absolves him or her of all crimes? It doesn't. Your buddy is a fucking coward, flat out. He is either making up bullshit and spreading rumors based on conjecture, to dumb fucks like you no less, or just sitting there putting of his 3 years at call back followed by unemployment and criminal prosecution on hold until he is "subpoenaed."

Not to judge the officers cause I wasn't there. I will say this factually. A small percentage of Cops are reluctant to use deadly force and have never considered that as an option. Many are uncertain where to draw the line on safety.

12/30/2012 07:03:00 AM

You are absolutely correct. Especially about reluctance. Can you blame any officer? What family man or lady wants their name and picture slandered in the media because poor Trevon was "only playing a game" when he drove that stolen car into the officer. AND the cameras DO make a psychological difference. Its not so much that an officer is afraid of being recorded deliberately breaking the law,(which most cops need not worry about), but you will second guess your immediate actions knowing you are recorded. Its like public speaking. You can recite a speech perfectly in your own home, but in front of others, you make mistakes, because you know you are being watched. its called being human. I'll never forget what a retired chicago cop told me when he was 97 years old and I was a rookie, "Shoot first"!

Obviously you can't fucking read or you are too fucking dense to don't understand why officers would need to "lawyer up" or "indicate they will have to side with Mr Tony Williams when subpoenaed."

I really can't believe you, who ever the fuck you are, are trying to act like my post was too revealing. First of all my fucking post could not be too revealing because I wasn't there, I am not on the paper and I didn't hear the story via text from my trick buddy.

What I do know is based on the very first post is somebody on that paper, maybe even your illiterate ass, is a fucking pussy and is running his or her trap to their dumb fucks buddies, again possible yourself, who have no idea what the connotations are of phrases like "lawyer up" and "indicate they will have to side with Mr Tony Williams when subpoenaed."

Obviously your power of observation and deduction are extremely weak. You obviously just out of your depth as a police officer and life in general. And please motherfucker, don't act like you know shit about me, or you know what the score is because it obvious no matter how much time on the job you claim to have, you never pulled your head out of your ass to look at the score board. So carry on acting like a pussy and putting shit on the blog that should have NEVER been on here in the first place.

Next time, and hopefully there is a next time, tell dumb fuck that being on the paper as BOX #17 for that felony pinch isn't as important as his job. If he has problem with the paper, he needs to not be on the paper, or discuss it with the people writing the paper so that any misunderstandings are cleared up.

Since this is a public forum and until there is way to sign in securely and post here as LE, etc., there will always be 'Anonymous' entities posting statements here who would like us and the public to believe they are the police.

Primary goals of these low-lifes are to distort truth, execute ad hominem attacks and create dissention. A lot of dissention.

Look up The Gentleperson's Guide
to Forum Spies. An interesting read.

My own observations, on average, most of the 'very unusual' or way out of the ordinary posts always show up in the first group of 6-8 comments.

Keep the faith.

Was it not a certain LT who told you to not back up the beat cars not so long ago? All the rapid cars are tied up on missions mostly on the south end. All thats left is a couple Beat cars who are constantly tied down, running job to job and making an arrest now and then. The cars do come but they usually have to be able to break away from their assignments. Maybe you should invite more of them to your dopw arrest pizza parties or let them sit and watch all the sports events in your office while you relax filling in the blanks on your preprinted sub and dopw complaints. You cant compare the Westside and Southside with this issue. No matter how bad you think it is in 010, you probably never experienced the shitty back up of the south side.... Be glad you have 011 and the outside Units. Your neighboring Districts could also not show up....

If it means you helping me out when I need it sure, come anytime you want. I don't know what your talking about pizza parties though. Stop by the office anytime ours was recently moved from area4 garage to the 001 dist. Cars "tied up" on south end missions? Come on you know that is just a excuse for them to not get jobs and make them not feel like dogs for never doing a thing, here's a secret ( you are). It was sad that with all the south end missions you speak of...when that piece of garbage shot at the two tact officers a few weeks ago only about 3-4 beat/rapid cars showed up. I don't care how busy you claim you are, when that happens you drop everything and go.
